I originally gave this camera a pretty tough review. Honestly I DO WISH it could shoot the similar image highlight, shadow and skin tone as a Sony PMW-EX1 when recording internally. I have not been able to get it to do that. HOWEVER When teamed with the Video Devices PIX-E5 this becomes a whole different camera. poor low-light and colors

So Far I think its ok.
So far its ok, needs a few updates, like, being able to access the menu of colour setting when REC is on, and Expand Focus seems to be only working in preview. I think the colours see fine, some of the blacks will need some tweaking. https://youtu.be/AZIk1vvLI8Q

Picture detail is outstanding!
Picture detail is outstanding... As good or better than the GH4. It's a complicated beast with tons of adjustments... I'm just starting to get use to it, but it has already served me well on a full day shoot in challenging lighting. Only gripe is that the color needs to be adjusted a bit (WB preset). Be sure to set zoom to access the faster speeds (default is set to slow).

Great for educational useage
We have received five camera several weeks before. This camera provides exceptional quality for shooting online lecture and interviews. We did not touch V-Log yet, but will use it when we need to do some short promotional film. The important thing for us is that the camera is easy to use.

It's Growing On Me
Like a lot of people eyeballing this camera, I had a DVX100A and B back in the day and shot a TON with those. Mostly corporate stuff but also a bunch of HGTV and some other jobs for broadcast. Can't figure it out yet
We bought this for run-n-gun documentary shooting. Plan was to get two more DVX200's. Probably because it is new there is ZERO support available from Panasonic. In 2 weeks of testing I don't have more than about 1 minute of video that I would consider good enough to deliver. Not an upgrade to the AF100
I had Hands On at NAB. The JVC LS300 is the CamCorder I expected to see in the Panasonic Booth as an upgrade to the AF100. I was not happy with the lack of MFT lens mount nor their choice of an intergrated lens. The apparent top usable ISO seems no better than a GH4 with a similar kit lens. I did not like the RED side cover.

Everything missing from HCX-1000
As good as the HCX-1000 is, it does suffer from a small sensor. Sony's wonderful PWX-Z100 has the same problem. Both struggle in low light situations. This camcorder should fix that. Personally I think the red color was to distinguish it from the HCX-1000. Also, instead of getting a GH4 and the interface unit and lenses just to do video work, this seems a simpler option.

Not a good color
Everything looks great, but not the red color. It is a beautiful camera, the texture of the materials are fantastic, all the specifications are perfect, that is why I don't understand the red color, it does not looks very professional. My opinion is all black or the combination the black with dark gray

The Perfect Machine But Why The RED??!!
This camera can't get here soon enough. It has everything I've been waiting for: internal 4K, larger sensor, greater zoom range, improved stabilizer, timecode I/O, SD cards (sorry P2, I'm done with you), and better EVF placement. Panasonic finally made a future proof one piece camera. But why the hokey looking red back? I don't know who you thought that would appeal to, but I'll have to get used to it. PLEASE offer color options. It's definitely gonna be a target for ribbing on set...

The camera most be fantastic, but I don't like the red color
I have seen all the opinions about the camera in youtube and NAB, and I would like to buy one, but I am not convinced completely for the red color, it doesn't looks very professional hopefully Panasonic present more options of colors, like gray or black, not red please.

worth waiting?
When this camera gets EBU approval for General Long Form I will buy it instantly. Had the same with the panasonic photocamera's. As soon as I traded my analog Olympus camera's and exellent Zuiko lenses for a all-in-one panasonic Lumix (early model with fixed 28-360 zoom) I don't want anything else. I am affraid this camera sounds too good to be true. (esp the codec wich is still not mentioned)
