Terrific Camera and System
I waited about 2 months to write this review to give me real experience with the Oly EM-5 MK II. I have been a die hard Canon person. A massive improvement on an amazing tool
My previous iteration of this camera (the OMD EM5 mark 1) lasted through three years, 150k frames and shot on 5 continents. Rugged as all get, that camera has been bumped, scraped, splashed and routinely shaken silly during mountain bike rides. Impressive little camera
BQ: I am very impressed by the build quality. It has metal dials that feel nicer than probably any other camera I have used. The body is Magnesium alloy, and it has a nice weight to it without being to heavy or to light. I was also blown away by how you can customize so many buttons and the dials as well. Before buying this camera I watched all the YouTube Videos, read every review I could find and downloaded and read the owner's manual. Versatile and Lightweight

Sorry Olympus, hate to burst your bubble but you are not anywhere near the power of DSLR Canon. I have to admit that I fell for the marketing hype of Olympus. 1) The Canon RAW Files are way more powerful and have so much more data. You can push the raw files in photoshop really hard in Canon. Excellent Fit for Me
I am absolutely delighted by this camera! From the quiet mechanical shutter to the smooth lens mount (both of my EM-10's had tight lens mounts) this thing just oozes build quality. The Olympus announcement that it will be getting the new features from the EM-10 MkII in a November v2.0 software update (except for the touchpad focus while using the EVF which didn't work for me anyway) was the icing on the cake. After touring 9 national parks out west with my nikon D7000, a 70-200 f4 lens, a wide angle lens, and a 65-85 lens, I called uncle! Quality / Repair Concerns
I bought a new OMD EM-5 from B&H in July 2015. B&H did good. Olympus not so much. I'm a heavy user but I was very careful to treat the camera well. Took it in the field a lot, subjected to rain twice, never dropped or damaged from handling. I probably took more than15,000. I am a traditional Nikon D750 and Leica M240 user, but recently bought the E-M5 Mark II for my recent Europe trip and couldn't be happier. I purchased this camera as a temporary replacement for my OM-D E-M1, which was the "flagship" camera for Olympus back when I bought it. The E-M1 is being repaired, as the shutter began to continually freeze, particularly working outdoors in moderately cool weather. Once, I had too a problem with the screen going black. I discovered it was operator error; actually a software glitch. This was several months ago, but the best I can remember, it happened because of the lens choice vs. the menu setting. I ordered this camera after dropping my OM-D EM10. Instead of replacing it with the 10 the OM-D EM5 Mark II seemed the best choice. Boy, am I glad I dropped the OM-D EM10. This camera has many more function buttons, a better five axis stabilization, and the ability to turn the rear display to the front or any position instead of just angling it up.
