Longtime DJI Fan, I hate this thing
I've been flying DJI drones for a living for almost 6 years now. I say that, to say this. This is the most annoying charger I've ever used. It requires that the batteries be put up on end, smaller side down, and has nothing to hold the batteries in place except the battery terminal connections. This multiple battery charger only charges 1 battery at a time or in sequence which is the same as the 4 battery charger for the mavic air. Crapolla!

Useful. works as descripted
Charges batteries one by one, starting by the one with more charge in order to allow you a faster reload and continuous flying.

Not neccessary but convenient
The main thing this does is keep you from checking to see if one battery is charged before charging the next
