Audio-Technica PRO 88W-830 Camera Mountable VHF Lavalier Wireless System (T13: 169.445 & 170.245 MHz)
Great Audio Device - Recommend
I teach Mass Communications at a High School. I love this wireless microphone and have purchased several. Its easy to operate and the audio sounds great. If there is any interference the system can be switched to another band.

Very nice and durable
I just used this lav system for the first time today, and was very pleased with how well it held up (despite a six-year-old dropping the receiver). It seems tough and sturdy, and the quality is excellent. I use it for interviewing subjects, like news sound-bites (but for YouTube purposes). I did have help from a professional photographer on how to get it first set up, since that is not my field. He had it set up and ready to go immediately, so I'm guessing it's user-friendly in setup.

Love this system!!
I used this in my studio the other day with the swamp cooler blasting and it did a great job canceling out all the background noise. This was important to me as I primarily do stills and have just gotten into doing video and my studio isn't the quietest one I've ever been in.

Perfect for DSLR Audition Submissions
I bought this as an actor to use with my Canon 7D DSLR. I needed something that was clean and clear and simple to use. It was plug and play device. No set up required. Having a lav mic for auditioning gives the actor more range for vocal subtlety when doing eco-cast auditions and other on-line submissions. I highly recommend it.

Perfect for this Price
We needed a solution to video conference from a PC using Skype or other variables that would allow the speaker to walk around the room and still be heard. This fit that bill perfectly. You simply plug the mic out from the receiver into your PC's mic input, adjust mic settings in your PC and you're good to go. You might want to order optional microphones to find one that suits your needs, the included mic has to be really close to your mouth to be... Show More

Functional But not clean
Not good if your looking to record clean audio. Has a bad hiss that is tough to remove in post. Also no volume control for monitor. This is a good example of you get what you pay for. That being said it works fine for PA type systems or if clean audio is not needed such as typical instructional youtube type videos. I returned mine as I needed to have to have clean audio for interviews and such.

Works Well
I'm using the mic to film two actors stepping out of a car, paying a parking meter, and then walking up to and talking directly into the camera positioned on the sidewalk. The sound works well - but not the best ever -- enough for the video piece, and I like how the mics are light weight and easy to use. With sounds of people along the sidewalk, the actors can be heard clearly above it all, making it work perfect for this project. One thing that isn't so great is it's hard to open the battery cover, I always feel like I might break it.

Great product
The product was great for the videos I needed. I should have got it sooner. I film in a gym where there is constant noise that can't be regulated and we needed a microphone that was small and easy to use to have better quality audio. The piece that helps attach the microphone to clothing however is a piece that can easily get lost because it is fragile. I always have to make sure after I'm done filming that I have all the pieces back in the case where I keep them.

Worth The Price!
I use my mics for video interviews. The only issue was hair and clothing causing rough static, but that was easily adjustable. I love the sound quality. It drowns out ambient noise efficiently.

Gets the job done.
I use this set up on short film sets and while shooting commercials. I have been able to record quality sound when I used this product. This is an inexpensive wireless option which does work. If you choose this product and use it reasonably it will serve you well. The two channel option has always been enough to suffice for my needs, but this is typically a highly controlled environment.

Good wireless mic for the money
For the money, this Pro 88W seems to be pretty good with limited use thus far. Close-in audio seems to be good and I will be using mostly for filming interviews and short training videos (15-20 feet). Use is pretty simple by just installing batteries and turning on. I would like to a better manual to explain expanded features. I haven't figured out yet if I can use a monitoring headphone with mic to ask questions while filming or if only picked up by the mike on the speaker. I will try to get info on internet but more inclusive manual would be helpful.

Good quality, affordable
I finally had a chance to get this mic and a couple shotguns I also bought out into the field for testing. Compared to another brand I have that was half the price, this microphone had decent range without a constant buzzing or frequent clicking that the cheaper mic delivers. Sound quality is good, and the mic is quite sensitive with clear voice quality and even tones. It's sensitivity would make it hard to use close to another speaker, though. I... Show More

Quality Sound
The sound quality that is transmitted is very good, as with any cheaper wireless mic we had some interference which caused us to have to do more than one take, but the sound quality was very good and gave us a final product that was superior to our past product video shoots. Be sure that you test and have the opportunity to have a second take but the sound was quality.

Just Okay
I have only tested this mic system and while the mics pick up sound fairly well, there does seem to be an occasional crack, snapple, and pop. To a trained audio tech I imagine they would find these unacceptable. I might use them in a run and gun type of project and that's why I went with these rather inexpensive mics, they may get banged up pretty bad and if we destroy them in the process, no big loss. If money is an issue this isn't a bad mic.

Works Great
For the money you cant beat it. This is my first wireless mic so I don't have alot of experience but I feel it was money well spent especially since I'm only using it to video tape my sons school chorus and things of that nature. I hope it holds up and so far so good. I don't seem to have any static but then again havent used them much

Capable low cost wireless mic
I use these for interviews. I was happy to find the T68 frequency versions on sale, they complement the T24 that I already had, so I can mic up to 4 people without interference. The 9V batteries are good for an 8 hour shoot, in my experience. Some people have reported interference problems, perhaps because the transmitter uses the mic cable as an antenna. It is a minimal problem for me.

A smart move
Easy set up, clear audio, great price, and immediate shippiing from B&H. No complaints from this non-professional user.

Unreliable
The audio sitting under the noise, dropouts, and strange interference phases is ok. Higher frequency often goes in and out even with good signal (this affects voices). This mic will cost you - you're either going to invest in wired or buy a $500+ kit minimum after it fudges your program. Spare yourself this 100-150 bucks.

Great pro-sumer mic
I get excellent sound quality, and very little background noise with this Mic. I have used this mic with various clients before and it has always worked out great. I recommend this Mic for anyone who is a freelance videographer on a budget. *Heads UP: When you have it plugged in with the earpiece you will notice it's very loud and you hear a lot of static. But don't worry! Once you import it into your computer, the audio is crystal clear. It's just that the volume on the earpiece is turned way up.

Bang for buck
As a recordist, I know AT as a maker of high quality, affordable microphones--great pieces of engineering designed for sonic accuracy. But I was still skeptical, given the price and the function, thinking this would be some bare-bones compromise of a solution to the video needs at work, and that I'd have to deal with noise artifacts, lossiness, and tinny quality just due to the price. It was literally plug and play--plug it in, set the channel, a... Show More
