Great lens for the money
When I buy a lens, I'm looking for a combination of qualities good image quality, good value for the money, optical image stabilization, and easy to carry. This lens has all 4. It may not get the best scores on professional lens rating websites, but in real world settings, its image quality is just fine. It's also not expensive, it's optically stabilized, and it's light in weight. Just what I was looking for. I would recommend it, and I'd buy it again if I needed to.

Good Lens, Great Price
Took it out for a spin as soon as I got it a few weeks ago. It exceeded my expectations...a lot more durable than I thought and stable. Perfectly integrates with my Sony Nex-7.

Good glass for the price
It is a very good standard zoom lens for the $. I got it along with a6000, so there was a discount too. Only problem I faced is the slow focus in max zoom.

Good Value
This represents very good value for entry zoom lens, especially if you manage to get a deal on it. No problems with quality, it's light and complements well 16-50 lens in my case.

Nice Entry Telephoto
This is what it is, an entry level zoom lens that I felt I needed when I bought the a6000. It came as part of the bundle and so far seems to be a nice lens. I've shot some portraits of my wife with it and I think it's crisp and easy to use.

I am new to photography and purchased this 55-210 lens with my Sony A6000. The lens is relatively compact for the zoom and fits great in my small Ruggard 15 bag together with the camera and a 16-50 lens.

Nicely finished, compact zoom
So far very pleased with results. The lens is well finished, and proportioned for the Sony ILC's. The camera is not too front-heavy with this lens attached. Same filter size as my 18-55 lens, which cuts down on how much stuff I have to carry with me.

Great lens when it works
I had a copy of lens and I sold it. That copy worked great with the Sony Nex-6 so I had no hestitation buying it again. This copy doesn't seem to work as fast and doesn't seem to focus as close with the A6000. It's probably a setting on the A6000 as the camera and lens are at the latest firmware. I am satisfied with the pictures when it's working but I get annoyed missing shots. It's a reasonable price for a nice zoom lens. I do recommend it.

What's there to complain about?
Reasonably priced, great image quality, well constructed, fast enough with stabalization - a no worries lens. Barrel extends to zoom - so the mirrorless becomes less than compact. But this is a minor beef. Great product.

Beyond belief
Super sharp, super fast, oh so lightweight! The extra reach makes this a Terrific addition to the kit 16-50mm, regardless of what we all think of that lens. Great item - great deal
This is the first time I have had something other than a point and shoot camera. Bought this together with the Sony A5000 as recommended by one of B&H's finest.Thought it's more camera than I'm used to, and the learning curve is big, I am pleased with the ease of handling and the photographic results using this lens.

Compact Zoom
An excellent zoom lens in a compact package. This is such a great fit for the A5000. It's not over the top on price, which the A5000 isn't. If you're shooting professionally, you're not looking at this lens. You'd go for a Zeiss zoom that get's you the cleeeeaannnn photo you can make $$ on. But this is a spectacular value that will improve the photos the average photographer can produce.

Good tele, light weight
I use this lens with A6000, This is very good for traveling, light weight and focusing a bit fast on A6000.I got a very good offer from bhphoto when buying this lens together with A6000.

Very nice lens
This lens gives a lot of reach on my a6000, and the built-in optical stabilization is useful for both stills and video. It's sharp and compact. I wish it were maybe a stop faster, but that would make it a lot more expensive. It's a great lens to have in the bag for those times when the 16-50 isn't quite long enough. A good bang for the buck.

It's not an f4.5 lens on an APS-C sensor
Sony is doing some pretty loose math by calling this an f4.5 lens on an APS-C camera. If it were on a 35 mm FF camera yes it would be f4.5 Let's do the math a 210 mm lens @ f4.5 = front diameter of 46.66 mm With the crop factor you have a 315 mm equivalent. The front diameter doesn't change so divide the 315 mm lens by 46.66 and you get an f6.7 lens, not an f4.5. If you think you're going to get an f4.5 lens on an APS-C sensor, you're not. The ph... Pleasantly surprised
