So much quality in a little package
I have a Canon DSLR, but this is a great camera. So many features tucked into something so compact. Image quality is most important to me and the stills and video are both superb! There are more than enough menus and options for controlling every conceivable aspect of your shots (more than you'd ever want to deal with at times, but nice to know they are there). If you have the time, experiment around with them to see what they can do. I especiall... Show More

Pretty expensive. You get what you pay for.
Images are amazing. I am not a video guy but but since I am paying all this money I wanted to take advantage of it. The slow motion and burst shooting made all the extra money above the competition worth it because the just look unreal. I shot a slow motion waterfall in Southeast Asia and it had an epic movie feel to it and it was in HD. Images look as good as a high end apsc camera kit lens which is really good for a 1 in sensor. The only thing ... Show More

Buying a Second After Dropping the First
It's got RAW and low light capability, but very limited telephoto. Get the grip accessory. It feels solid for a pocket camera. It has been described as built like a tank, but it's not invulnerable. I've made sure to always use the wrist strap when handling the camera; however, after two weeks of use, while shooting with the Twilight Scene mode at 5 AM, I needed to remove the glove on my shooting hand to feel the buttons. The glove snagged the wri... Show More

Worth It for Me.
Small, relatively light, pocket camera. Perhaps more for video people. As noted elsewhere, it goes through batteries quickly - buy several. I wanted a pocket camera with RAW and low light capability for walk around still photography. This fills the bill. My main regret is the very limited telephoto, but I knew that before purchase. The solution: keep an old Sony H90 or a newer Sony HX90V in a second pocket for telephoto backup. The weight is less and the portability still better than an SLR. Five stars for performance, but four stars factoring in the limited telephoto.

Third RX100 I Have Purchased From B&H -- Worth The Price
This is the third RX100 I have purchased -- I have bought the RX100, the RX100 III and now the RX100 V all from B&H. Very nice cameras with great image quality. Though I have more capable cameras, I carry one of these and as they say, it's the camera that you have with you not the one at home. Had recently purchased the III, but though it had great image quality, it had some issues with focus in low light that made its low light performance less ... Show More

Small but has most of the features as the Sony A7 series.
When on photography workshops this camera always is in my pocket. I found it very easy to use and it is always with me when we have family events.

The Child Prodigy of Cameras.
It can be a brat. It can resist doing what you tell it to do. It can fail at things its lesser friends find easy. Still, when doing what it does, it never fails to amaze. This is a highly documented and much-reviewed camera, and so I don't need much. I'm just glad I didn't throw it out the window, which was my vague plan at the end of the first week. Now it is my constant companion. I recommend a screen protector and a good wrist strap. (I'm just... Show More

Just as advertised, perfect for me!
Had it a week and it is perfect in terms of weight and it fits into my pocket. The zoom is as expected and good but limited. It is a little complicated but I am getting proficient quickly. The auto setting is great for an amateur like myself. Auto focus is terrific.Picture quality is amazing! Can't wait to blow up some of the shots. Didn't buy in for movies so no comment.. Amazing camera, Best point and shoot outhere
Best point and shoot camera out there love every single detail about it from quality to ergonometrics. The only down part is that records just 5 minutes in 4k.

The best pocket camera Sony has ever made
This camera is the best point and shoot I have ever owned. So small to bring anywhere. Great menu, easy video, beautiful results. This camera almost equals my DSLR. so many features that I haven't gone through them all yet.

Top notch camera given the pocket size
Likely best camera in this size you can buy. Fast focus, good low-light sensitivity, clear images, video. The battery life is just ok, so I simply carry an extra battery with me. One issue is the weak battery door latch that tents to open on its own during normal use and handling.

I would buy this product again
Performs as expected from the review. Great IQ. Form factor is much improved by an accessory side grip. Having flash AND EVF are very important and work well. I have a Sony a7Rii and a full-set of lenses. My goal is to have a pocketable camera when I don't feel like lugging the big gear around. For me the iPhone just doesn't cut it. The high speed image capture has become very important in shooting action shots. I was able to capture my grandchil... Show More

Love this Point and Shoot
I upgraded my secondary camera to the Sony RX100 V after reading a number of reviews. I am just a casual user, but a like a great photo. The detail in the photos is really good. Considering that this camera can also shoot up to 24fps till the buffer fills 150 jpg's, this little camera is amazing. I have got some great high frame rate stills. I have not shot a lot of 4K and the video that this can shoot is also amazing (if you can live with the 5 ... Show More

Great for my purpose
I have a BMPCC and a Canon 60D which I have been using for some years now. However, I have often been in situations where a perfect photo or video opportunity presents itself and thought, Darn, if only I had the camera with me! So I researched point-and-shoot cameras. I narrowed it down to the RX100 V because it did the things the other cameras didn't do - mainly fit in my pocket, but also slow-motion and 4K, which I can downsample to 1080p. It t... Show More

Perfect For Travel!
This camera is exactly what i need to my travels. I was looking for a camera without interchangeable lens to register travels with quality and this was a perfect solution. Video is perfect (4K amazing and the 120p/240p is great! 960p lost some quality but is fine too. And it has S-log2!) and photos are awesome! Great camera that fits into your pocket and your budget!

Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 V Digital Camera
I got this camera so I didn't have to carry around a heavier canon DSLR(rebel) while on vacation in the Philippines. It's light and small enough to carry around town all day. I usually place it inside a pouch that came with a small REI multi-towel-lite, so it doesn't look like I'm carrying a camera. With the camera in the REI pouch, I can still slip them in the back pocket of my jeans. I would recommend it for use when travelling. I like that it ... Show More

Replaces My First DSC-RX100
I have used the original Sony DSC-RX100 for several years since it was introduced. For travel pictures, it is hard to beat. Like a phone camera, it was always available, but the picture quality was always better. I got the replacement, the fifth iteration for the same reasons that I owned the original. I do like the faster focus and although qualitative in my hands, the low light capability seems to be improved. Only slightly heavier and larger t... Show More

An outstanding camera to carry with you
This is my third Sony DSC RX100, and unless something revolutionarily better comes along, I'll probably upgrade again, when one of the next generations of RX100s comes on the market. It produces outstanding images, but is small enough to fit into a shirt pocket (where I often carry mine). So if you're not sure you need a bag of gear, but want to have a camera just the same, you can't go wrong with this one. It's pricey, but I think it's well worth the price.

Amazing camera!
This is simply the best compact camera there is - it is mind boggling how much feature and function has been packed into this little monster. I don't need to go over the features. Here is the bottom line: If you are in the market for a compact camera, nothing comes even close - get one of the RX100 models, depending on what features are important to you. If you have the original RX100 or RX100-II, it is definitely worth upgrading to the V. If you... Show More
