Best travel camera
To cut to the chase , I compared images taken with this camera and Sony 10-18 led to my Nikon D810 with Tamron 15-30. The image quality is very close with very slight advantage of Nikon in micro details only visible at 100% magnification on very good monitor. When downscaled to typical for Web format -no difference. The difference in weight of equipment is drastic. I would not hesitate taking Sony and that lens on Amy hiking trip , it?s so light.... Show More

Just buy it
A very complete camera. Better in every way than my previous A6000. The in body stabilization gives new life to my m mount primes which I use on my Leica M7.

A little bit better than my phone but more to carry.
I purchased this set before traveling. The negative features are: it is cumbersome to download pictures from camera to phone, for GPS you need to use your phone, and I find the function controls time consuming. I must admit I'm switching from a 40D Canon where I could switch between modes easily and control focus area and ISO over all modes. I do like that it is light weight and has a view finder. Hard to use the LED screen while wearing polarize... Show More

I hate battery capacity
In love with this camera, as a world traveler it is best as it's so light and easy to carry. The quality is super, bought with 16-70mm lens. I'd like a flipout screen so much. :)

Quick focus and sharper Images.
As I get older I need as much help as I can get and In camera image stabilization is why I purchased this camera, along with the fact it is a crop sensor. I previously own the A6000. It was either the 6300 or the 6500, the image stabilization was deciding factor. It focus quickly and I get sharper images, I love it.

Packs a punch!
Only have had it a week, but already considering selling my other gear to get more into Sony. So small and lightweight, and packs some serious video specs. Love how quick it fires off stills too!

I am satisfied with my experiences so far.
I use it for portrait, street, and occasionally sports. The menus continue to be tricky and I wish Sony would put more research into improving them. For ex., when something can't be done, suggest what should be done to make it happen. Otherwise it is an extremely capable camera, and with a good lens is capable of remarkably sharp and well exposed images. The jpg files are really superb. They are pricing it very high, but it is an excellent product, and delightfully compact.

Gone Sony
I am a full time professional real estate photographer and videographer and also shoot for small business marketing needs with both video and photography. Knowing what I do with the camera is equally important to my opinion of it. I sold my 5D iii and 80d and lenses to make the switch and was VERY apprehensive. The mark IV was not the answer although it is a beautiful camera, the codec for 4K is impossible with my work flow. Now, the point. This ... Show More

Yes I like it and recommend it
I sort of married Nikon many years ago and have a collection of old SLR's and two current FX and one DX DSLRs.. I travel a bit both in the US and abroad. My usual camera pack has been an FX with a 24-120 and a 28-300mm and the DX with an 18-200 zoom. I also have a belt/point and shoot as a belt carry. The D7200 is both a backup should I have problems with the D610 and a lighter less bulky rig for evening walks and dinners in interesting places an... Show More

Great camera for video
Great camera for video work....annoying that the shutter speed and f-stop settings wheels/dials change too easily if you brush them with your fingers

the a6500 lives up to the reviews
I have an a7RII, a6300 and now the a 6500. I've been using the 6300 and 6500 mostly for video. I bought the 6500 for the in body stabilization which works well. The touch screen doesn't add much functionality but the ability to move the focus point is a great feature.

Best All- Around Camera for the Money
If you are looking to purchase a camera for video and for photos this is the best camera to purchase. This camera is one of the best video cameras on the market with crisp 4K, and smooth cinematic slow motion with 1080p 120fps. On top of all of this it also shoots very good stills with very good and low noise ISO. Auto focus is also one of the best on the market today.

Better than my old a6000 by far!
Fantastic for wildlife. I am using this solely for wildlife using the new Sony 100-400mm G Master. It sometimes take a second to get focus, but I believe this is due to the lens and the wide range that it has. It tracks birds in flight like nothing else! You can't beat the size and weight of this combo. I have yet to hit the buffer on this camera. On the a6000 I would hit the buffer limit regularly. The EVF is noticeably sharper than the a6000. The custom buttons and settings allow me to be more proficient.

Best mirrorless camera on the market!
Absolutely love the a6500! I do not claim to be a professional, heck, I am aspiring to be an amateur photographer. I can tell you with some practice, a good eye and the desire to take amazing pictures, this camera will fit the bill!

Great camera if you work with its flaws
I really like the camera and it produces a beautiful image. I kind of wished I would have only got the body and just bought better lenses but the kit lenses are great for the price. The camera has some major pain points (LCD, battery life, rolling shutter, etc) but if you are willing to work with or around them than it is a great camera for the price.

There are a million reviews out there for this camera, there is nothing else to add here other than --- if you are looking for a relatively small / light / crop camera, that shoots great stills and video, just get this one, your search is over!

Great Camera for Video!
What a fantastic camera. Paired with a few great lenses from Sony/Sigma it really is a top notch performer. All around great camera for video with 4K, fantastic autofocus, fast buffer and more. I use it as a secondary body for film, but also as a fun travel / family camera instead of lugging around the DSLR.
