Stick to Canon
Moved over for video to Sony and first job two of the cameras overheated and three corrupt files!!! Will be calling Sony! Used all sandisk extreme pros and Sony batteries. Was hot but no excuse. The canons lasted Sony's overheated and had issues. will be returning.

software update
apparently the camera needs a soft ware update to accept Play Memories app and activate wifi. Maybe I am just inept but so far I cannot get wifi or bluetooth and NFC. Software update requires a more recent operating system on my MAC-generally a bit hairball so far.

Perfect camera for my needs
This a great tool for high quality photography and it takes amazing 4K video. I got the 18mm-135mm lens as part of a kit and it is a really nice sharp overall lens. I considered the 18-105 f4 but that one was more useful for video, and I am doing more with photos.

too small
Every time I held the camera my fingers would hit the dial and the ISO would start to change. I never could figure out the focus. I am a professional photographer wanting to lighten my load but this didnt come close to what I need. The images I did get were good.

Tiny camera and huge performance!
Pretty little camera that gives a beautiful image quality! I'm surprised with the images... i use it for vdeo and with sony 18-105 is a perfect match to filmmakers... the only con is the record button is really in a bad location! Overall is a really good camera

Great camera
I bought the Sony a6500 to be a second camera, but the more I use it, the more I like it. It has powerful and extensive features. It has lived up to my high expectations based on all the positive reviews I read. It is great as both a still and a video camera.

Worth it! Steady shot is great!
The a6500 is my first mirrorless and I love it! I chose this over the other alpha series because I wanted the image stabilization and 4k video. This is a great camera for the price. It will last a very long time. It will also hold its value pretty well.

Great camera and Finally has a touchscreen.
It is about time sony integrates the touchscreen into their bodies. They did it many year ago with the nex 5n. Was it worth the wait? I don't about that, but i do love the touchscreen for focussing while the camera is on my gimbal. Works really well.

Nice upgrade
Upgraded from a6000 for IBIS, touch screen and better low light performance. Thumbs up on all of those features. Ive already taken some great pics paired with sigma and laowa primes. If you are an APSC aficionado like me, this is a great camera.

Best APS-C camera out there!
There are a million reviews out there for this camera, there is nothing else to add here other than --- if you are looking for a relatively small / light / crop camera, that shoots great stills and video, just get this one, your search is over!

Sony a6500 Is Amazing
I was looking for a camera that could perform well with filming and photography....I got just that. Paired with the right lenses & equipment this is very close to cinema level work. Perfect for people on a budget, definitely a great purchase!!!

Beast Camera
This is a beast of a camera for being so small, lightweight and compact. Beware of EF lenses with any type of adapter - they are not that fast if you are looking for autofocus features. Otherwise even with the 8-bit, this camera packs a punch.

Great Camera
Sony has really good technology! This one is specifically good for traveling. I just purchased it for a trip, small and easy to carry around! Only issue is that it doesn't come with a battery charger, you have to order one separately.

shutter roll effect awful
I had always use Canon DSLR and wanted a mirroless for the lightweight and versatility, but the shutter roll effect on this camera kills me. Horrible. I guess I did not research enough. Love the colors of the sony but this is unbearable.

Happy I invested in Sony.
I am a professional photographer who is going light. I will keep my big cameras but after using the Sony a6000 and a6500 cameras on commercial jobs I am moving to the lighter weight, fast focusing, easy to use Sony's. They are awesome!!

Best mirrorless camera on the market!
Absolutely love the a6500! I do not claim to be a professional, heck, I am aspiring to be an amateur photographer. I can tell you with some practice, a good eye and the desire to take amazing pictures, this camera will fit the bill!

Great
Replaced a6000 and supplement Cannon 6ti for high school sports. Meta bones adapter allows use of Canon lens. Tests at 7-7 and Tball have been very good. First sample had an problem (spot on sensor) and B&H replaced immediately.

would highly recommend
This was a gift for my wife. Pictures taken with it are excellent and the camera performs without noise at high ISOs at night. She also uses a mount lenses from her previous a camera without any problem with the LA4 adapter.

So far I'm liking it
I own the Sony a6000 and was looking forward to this upgrade and so far I am super happy. The new features are great, being able to add an external mic, great. To do a better review I should fill this out in 6 months...

Great little camera!
Bought this to use on my Ronin-S to use as a b-cam to my FS7. The ability to shoot SLog is great. I does tend to overheat (hence the 4 stars) after running for a while, so not the best to use for long interviews.

Great camera
So far I'm delighted with the 6500. I also have the 6000 and can see a great improvement. I just had some issues getting the camera to recognize my sony lenses. I don't know what I did to fix it but all is well now.

Small yet super powerful
So far I've only tested it with a 35mm f1.8 prime lens, but I LOVE this camera. Video + photos are incredible. Battery is actually much better than expected. Bought a 2nd battery, but never had to use it so far.

Terrific Camera
First off, great communication and customer service from B&H. I upgraded from an a6300. The highlights for me are the touchscreen, expanded buffer and a more comfortable grip. I am very happy with my purchase.
