Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens (Black)
Good camera to start with
I'm a design student and was tired of snapping photos with my phone when I was out in the field doing research. I also happen to enjoy photography but haven't took the plunge into multi lens camera systems outside of some of the old analog gear I own. I like how light this camera is. The grip is chunky enough that you feel like you are holding onto something too. It takes great pictures out of the box but manual mode takes a bit of learning if you are not familiar with Sony's UI. Other that I like the camera.

Fun Camera
I bought the a6000 for an affordable larger sensor camera. The menus take a long time get through, I wish there were more manual controls. The lens is good but not the highest resolving. I plan on purchasing a few primes and one more zoom. For now, though, I like it and enjoy learning the system.

Excellent Mid Level Camera
This was an excellent purchase for me. I have a DSLR already, but it was cumbersome to carry around while hiking. I wanted something lighter weight, that would still take great images. I passed the point and shoot models by, since I wanted raw files and the ability to manually adjust my pictures. My cons are that the beginner lens is low quality & the eye piece is very sensitive, which often shuts off the back display if it perceives that you are looking through it.

Great camera
This thing shoots fast, has sharp images, and it's small. It's good quality and can connect to my smartphone to share images fast.

I would buy this product again and again
I use this camera for underwater sports like surf kiteboarding, photography with drone, etc. Verry good quality and lightweight. Just need record 4k video. I did't try in low light yet.

Love this camera
I purchased this camera for my honeymoon to Fiji and New Zealand. The pictures that it took were amazing! Incredibly fast shutter speed, auto focus, and 11 pics per second helped capture the immense beauty of the country! It takes awesome portraits as well!! It's also very easy to use.

Fantastic!
This little Sony a6000 is a beast packed with exciting features not normally found in DSLRs in the price range. While I long considered getting a typical DSLR, the Nikon D5200, I decided for the Sony in the end, and did not regret it. Using the camera is very easy, wether you're a casual shooter or a seasoned shutterbug. If you're the first, the camera makes it really easy to get great shots every single time. If you're the latter, you have all t... Show More

I am very impressed with my A6000
B & H Photo is a very go company to do business with. I like their service and how fast they ship your items. This is the first mirrorless camera I have bought and it is taking me some time to get used to it. I like the pictures it takes plus the video pictures. The kit lens that comes with it (16-50mm) is a very good lens for the money. I am not a pro photography but I think the pictures taken with it are very sharp with alot of detail. The came... Excellent Capabilities
Excellent Picture Quality and Ease of Use. Use: Landscape & Family. Rapid burst mode and flash recycling. Because of the small size and weight, I can use it for mountain hiking. Not so great: No jacket available. Kit camera case is unusable for telephoto & camera - much too small. The power zoom is difficult to get used to - but not a big deal.

Lots to like in a small package
Bought this camera to have something in between a Lumix point and shoot and my Canon 5D. It takes a long time to become comfortable with a camera with so many features. For the moderate cost its hard to beat. On the down side, the kit lenses are a bit of a disappointment. I was hoping for faster lenses although the high ISO sensitivity makes up for some of this. Battery charging time is long and life appears short. Better carry a couple of extra ... Show More

Versatile all-rounder
With this price tag (body only) and a free accessory kit (extra battery + 32gb fast memory card) this was a no-brainer for a e-mount lens owner. Battle between m43 Olympus M10 mkII was short lived even thou a6000 is few years older. Best friends with Sony 50mm f/1.8 OSS (cheap and effective). Easy controls for manual shooting and the updated Smart Remote app allows you to leave the camera alone and control the aperture, shutter speed, ISO and exp... Show More

Sony a6000 - A Great Mirrorless Camera
Pros:- Good picture quality.- Compact size.- Easy to use.- High burst rate: 11 fps.- High number of focus points: 192 pts. - Pictures are still good at higher ISO. Pictures are still usable even at 1600. If you're not picky, pictures taken at 3200 are still usable.- The battery can be charged in the camera, through micro USB port. I can even charge the battery with a portable power bank that I use for my phone.- The popup flash can be tilted.- EV... Show More

Sony a6000
Just received with kit and lens. Camera works great as other reviewers have stated. One issue, the battery,Watson brand, is included in the kit will not work in this camera. Not sure why B&H would include if it's not comparable. Order the Sony brand and enjoy.

Great product
Very light camera, very fast focus, reasonably good kit lenses, and ability to use great Minolta prime lenses with adapter, and topped by very prompt , courteous service from B&H Photo. Unlikely I would carry my Dslr and Zoom lenses again on any trips again as they are so much heavier. I would highly recommend the camera and kit lenses and definitely recommend B&H Photo.

Great Product
We had bought this camera with an intent to use it immediately for a trip and it did not disappoint us. We still have not had a chance to explore the entire feature set, but our experience so far has been wonderful. The low light picture quality is fantastic and we are really happy with our purchase.

Great Camera Kit
I selected this camera because it also has a view finder. This feature proved very important when I started taking pictures on the beach in bright sunshine. I was initially concerned about reports regarding battery life, but that didn't never became an issue. Happy with purchase.

Great quality
I've been very impressed with the capabilities of this affordable camera. I'm using it mostly to take product photos for my business and it's exactly what I was looking for.

Just what I was looking for.
Bought this for macro use and as a general walk around camera as well. It is much lighter than my EOS 60D and finally I am free of the 100+ year old mirror.

Awesome Deal / Awesome Camera
Wanted something better then the point and shoot digital cameras I currently have. Came across the after Christmas deal and decided to buy. Swapping out lens is very easy. Sony has done a good job on their menus and controls. Bottom line; takes great pictures. If there is a drawback, the bag that come with the accessory kit is to small to hold all the stuff you get.

Excellent package for an amazing price
Got this to replace my ancient Nikon D70. I initially bought the a6000 kit and 55210 lens package in a store. Then I found this package deal on B&H for the same price which came with an extra battery and charger, memory card, a great case, AND I didn't have to pay tax on it. I've been using this camera and the two lenses for a few weeks (I also bought the 50mm 1.8 which is a beautiful lens for portraits). The kit lens is decent. At its widest, th... Show More

Great Little Camera!
I haven't had this camera long, so I don't have a real list of cons yet, but I will say this basically is a point-and-shoot form factor with SLR options. AF is nice and fast for my usage. In JPEG only mode, hi-burst shooting can hit about 90 in a row before buffering slows down the burst capability. It's closer to 20 in RAW + JPEG. Flash basically ruins the ability to burst shoot, so keep that in mind. Panoramic seems to work pretty well...very c... Show More

Loving it so far
I've had the camera for a week now, traded in all my DSLR equipment to go Mirrorless. The size and wifi capability make it easy to take with me on the go and upload photos to my iPhone. Very happy with the purchase so far.
