Not great, but a good kid
This is a good compact microphone for your home camera. On my Panasonic HC-V730 video camera, only microphones with an additional power source work. Polsen SMS-45A Mini has an additional power supply-a small battery The microphone is mounted in a rubber holder it absorbs extraneous sounds - the noise of the camera, the creak of the hand friction. This is not a great microphone, it does not give a great sound, bat recording with this microphone is... Show More

Absolute Garbage
High noise. Low sensitivity. No settings or filters will redeem this audio. Shockingly bad. Not worth the plastic its made out of.

Where's the volume? -"shotgun"? -no way
Compared to my Panasonic G7 internal mic, this one is only about 25% as sensitive. If I speak from 2 feet away at a normal volume, there are no bars displayed in the camera meter, compared with nearly full volume, 4-5 bars with the internal mic. To get it to register full I need to speak at about 6 inches. It seems to be well built, but it is useless as a "shotgun". Anything across the room will not even be heard. Utterly pointless, I had to return it.

Super quite and noisy!!
I got this for scratch track on my FS100 as it is small/compact and light but wow does this thing suck even at full blast it can barely pic up anything. The only reason I kept it is that the shock mount is nice and holds the stock mic and or others and is more compact than my rycote mounts and for x amount of dollars I figured just keep it

Stunning audio
I would highly recommend this to any cinematographer. I use a 14 mm Lens on the front of my camera when I'm vlogging and my rode mic would alway show up on screen. This microphone is so small that you can even put it on with the fisheye which is incredible for up close audio. Very small and perfect for traveling

OMG Best Mic
This is an amazing product I would recommend this to anyone who would like amazing audio. The reason I wanted such a small mic is because I film action sports and use a 8 mm Fisheye to get the action up close. BEFORE using this lens I would see the mic in shot. Also because of it size I can now use it on top of my Axler Gimble. Its light weight and very small. I have nothing negative to say. The design is absolutely amazing. You can tilt in any direction I like to face it down towards the person's mouth for perfect audio. 10 out of 10 Incredible.!!!!

Nifty little mini-shotgun
I searched and searched for a small mic for my high end consumer HD camcorder. The specs of all the under $150 mics did not really impress me. I wanted 20-20000hz with a very high S/N ratio. You have to pay for that! So... I listened to a lot of youtube videos where most the mics are reviewed, and finally chose this mic. Now... I am not editing with head phones, nor in an edit suite, so the add on speakers to the TV is it. The mic is MUCH BETTER ... Show More

Great Price, Great Sound, Great Mic!
I got this microphone to improve my audio quality in my videos since I had previously been using the on-board microphone on my Canon t3i. For $60 I've been impressed with quality that you get when recording with this microphone. I had previously tried the Audio-Technica ATR-6500, but found that this microphone easily outperforms that audio-technica model and is half the size! I'll include a link below to my video where I showcase the audio qualit... Show More
