Great travel and inconspicuous candid photography camera
I'm a relatively new convert to the mirrorless cameras having purchased my first, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000, about a year ago. Before that, I was a lifelong pro Nikon user for over 25 years as a photojournalist for several major newspapers. But the convenience of having an all-in-one design, electronic viewfinder and great image quality (even on a 1-inch sensor) has me convinced that the technology has caught up to make a much more user-friend... A perfect fit for the devoted enthusiast
First of all, this: I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received product samples as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. And also: I am not a professional photographer. I love photography -- I love taking pictures and I love looking at them. But I'm fairly new to the discipline and there is a lot left for me to learn. The Lumix ZS100 has dozens of amazing features and a seemingly infinite degree of fl... Show More

An impressive new member of the Lumix family
I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received the Panasonic Lumix ZS100 digital camera as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. I ordinarily shoot with a professional digital SLR so I wasn't sure what to expect when I agreed to test the ZS100 for Panasonic. Out of the box, the camera has a nice finish and a very substantial feel. It is well built and heavier than your typical point and shoot but still v... Show More

Excellent quality
I'm a travel writer/photographer and shoot in at least 20 countries a year. I usually travel with two DSLRs and a compact backup. The past year my backup has been the Panasonic ZS50. The camera has been great when I'm in cities where I'm not comfortable walking around with my DSLRs/lenses, or at theme parks with my kids with a small backpack, or when I just don't want the weight of the DSLR. So when Panasonic reached out with an offer to let me t... Show More

A lot of bang for your buck
I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received product samples as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. The Lumix DMC-ZS100 has been serving as my secondary camera for the last few months as I normally shoot with a Canon EOS 70D. Many shots I took with the Lumix I was able to compare side-by-side with shots from the Canon which cost around twice to three times the price (including lenses). From that pers... Show More

Great On-The-Go Cam
I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received product samples as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. I was pretty stoked to have been able to test this bad boy out before it hit market and overall I highly recommend this model. When I received this camera I was impressed with the look and feel of it. It had a good weight to it and the screen was a great size. The function buttons can be a little confu... Show More

A lot of camera here...
This is a very early review after a few uses this first week... - My VERY FIRST impression is that this has the feel of a very solidly build camera with decent heft, which harkens to its capabilities within. - It would be nice to have an overview of the most commonly used aspects of the camera as would be used for normal day in day out point and shoot use. As there is a lot to this camera here. But I'm getting there on a hit and miss basis. - Tou... Show More

Impressed with this little camera
I wrote a previous review that I received this model camera and had to return it because of the bottom exterior plates were not installed properly. I'm glad to say that I received a brand new ZS100 in 2 weeks after I returned the 1st one. I have been testing the new one and getting used to the menu system. This is my first Lumix camera. I am very happy with this camera. The menu system is large, it seems to do anything available on any camera, an... Show More

One of the best travel cameras
Before I begin: I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received product samples as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. Highlights: Sharp focus, responsive and easy UI, timelapse mode, simple WiFi image transfers, in-camera RAW converter, good zoom, great image stabilization at full zoom, tiny size, abundance of buttons/wheels I travel a lot. Being on the road for nearly two years taught me two things: y... Show More

Better Than I Expected
I would describe myself as an amateur enthusiast. I have owned many cameras from intsamatics to DSLRs over the many years I have enjoyed this hobby. I also have the Panasonic FZ1000 but I wanted something smaller to carry around on a daily basis or to use as a supplement when I travel. The ZS 100 fits the bill perfectly: 1 sensor, same menu structure, same features, excellent 10x zoom. I have used the camera extensively since receiving it and I a... Show More

Pocket Sized Powerhouse
I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received product samples as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. The ZS100 has 'large camera' features in a small, all-in-one package. The Leica 25-250MM lens offers incredible flexibility to shoot from wide to 'super zoom' based on my needs. I have been impressed with this camera's performance in low light situations, for portraits, landscapes, nature photography, ... Show More

Do Not Buy This Camera if Using Windows 10
I bought this camera in July of 2016, and have taken 5,000 to 9,000 photos with it in Italy, Croatia, New Zealand, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Alaska, and in many mainland US venues. I bought this to put in my pocket in situations where my main camera a Canon 7D was not easy to carry. I like the camera pretty much. Ordinarily, I would rate it 4-stars. But I gave it 1-star for a very basic reason. When I load photos from my Canon and m... Show More

Small camera, big results...
REVIEW DISCLAIMER I participated in an Advocate Program on behalf of Panasonic USA. I received product samples as part of my participation. All opinions are my own. I generally despise point and shoot cameras as they usually don't deliver when it comes to image quality. I shoot professionally, so my standards are pretty high. Well, big surprise, it actually DOES deliver quality images! The sensor is pretty much the same one in the FZ1000 and a go... Show More

Great travel zoom and nice video camera
I absolutely love this camera - I already have the Sony RX100 - which is nice and small - but focal range is only 24-100mm aperture F1.8-4.9 and no 4K - So I got the Canon G7X with 24-100mm F1.8-2.8 - and touch LCD - Touch shutter - but no 4k - so I got the RX100m4 - very costly - yes a nice but 4k is worthless as it only lasts 3min in warm weather - overheats - and focal range only 24-70mm - nice but no 4k really - no Touch LCD - Now I got the L... Very, very pleased!!
I'm very, very pleased with the image resolution, color, and functionality of this 1-sensor Panasonic camera. I bought it for travel because dpreview.com recently rated it as the best travel camera. I had previously only owned Canon cameras (many of them). Panasonic does not provide any software but the camera is very good and will fit into my shirt pocket. I use travel shirts with velcro-closure pockets. I don't like the wrist strap that came wi... Show More

A Really Nice Camera
I've had a number of point and shoot cameras over the years and although they were pretty good cameras, there was always something missing. I was always looking for something more, maybe better video, a longer zoom or a remote control - something. I read about this camera online , bought one and I couldn't be happier. I am far from a photo expert but I know what I like and I know a nice picture and/or video when I see one. This camera takes amaz... Show More

Best Feature Set for This Size
I lost my favorite high end mini cam, and needed a replacement. I'm mostly a Canon shooter, but Panasonic pretty much blows away the competition with this model. IQ seems excellent so far (I only shoot raw). Touch screen focus is indispensable. And although I used to prefer eye level viewfinder, I can see this excellent screen on this cam even in sunlight. It will take time to master all the features, but the alternative is a P&S. This is the cam... Show More

ZS-100 Travel Cam
I own a G-85 and G-7, with multiple lenses from 7-14,12-35 f2.8 to 100-400. They are my cameras and lenses of choice for photo trips. However, there are times when I travel with my spouse and I cant be lugging a lot of gear and changing lenses. Those are not photo specific trips. So, I need a camera thats unobtrusive, with an adequate zoom range and a viewfinder. The ZS-100 fills the bill nicely. I realize that at the long end the images are not ... Show More

I picked up one of these to use as a video/vlog camera that I could easily fit in a cargo pocket. This camera takes REALLY good photos, with plenty of customization options and manual control so you can get some nice shots. The zoom range is a plus for a 1-inch sensor camera body this small. Video quality is also excellent. However there was one crucial flaw that made me decide to return the camera: the stabilization. It works well for photos, b... Show More

Wrist Strap Broke In A Week - Camera Dented Everywhere
I was so excited to get this camera because it's the first really good point and shoot that I've invested some money in. I've been using digital; cameras since 1999 and have upgraded when necessary. I've always stuck with the camera film brands that I was familiar with. Great camera with a few drawbacks
The Lumix DMC-ZS100 is an amazing camera in many respects. Having RAW capability in a pocket camera is the first. A great lens in a pocket-size package is another. 4K resolution. There are so many features that run the gamut, it truly makes your head spin. There are a few drawbacks I've noticed after the first 2 weeks of ownership, however. The ability to focus in some situations is limited, such as telephoto shots in dark areas. Also, focusing a... Show More

Much better than point-n-shoots in terms of image quality. Nice compact size. Video images are quite good, even under overcast. Still images can be stunning. The auto panning feature (4k Live Cropping) works well enough however you have to remember to set it to 4k first! (A few too many bells-n-whistles in my book though). Zooming is smooth. Optical zoom is sharp, iZoom is not bad, digital zoom is, typically, poor. Stabilization is good but no re... Show More
