Worst customer service ever
I have owned my GH4 for about a couple months before I realized the micro-HDMI port was shipped to me broken. I had to pay 120 bucks to get it fixed (should be covered by Panasonic as it seems a lot of owners have this issue.) After 8 months of owning it the sensor frame moved in the interior (I never dropped or mishandled the body once). The process to get this fixed has been an incredible arduous and excruciating process. Panasonic explained th... Show More

Amazing Camera
The GH4 is amazing. Best camera for video I have ever owned. Looking forward to the GH5. Endlessly impressed.

Great Upgrade
I use the product everyday for professional video production. It was a great upgrade (and long awaited) from a DSLR - Rebel. The video quality is great and I was pleasantly surprised by the audio quality. Our mic's malfunctioned and we had to go with the audio caught by the included shotgun mic. I was very pleased with the quality

Filmmakers will love this camera.
If you're looking for Cinema 4K capabilities on a budget, this camera will fit you nicely. Record full 4K 4096x2160 at 24p and UHD 4K 3840x2160 at 30p/24p. The camera records 4K 8 bit @ 4:2:0 chroma subsampling (great for color grading), even better at 1080 (10 bit @ 4:2:2). You are able to record 4K, 10 bit @ 4:2:2, but you have to run it to an external recorder. If you do a lot of green screen composites--you'll want this 4K capability (the mor... Show More

Finally got my dream camera
I've been wanting this camera for months after hearing about it from several people I follow online, from friends of mine that have the camera, and after reading other reviews. It's exactly what I needed and the price is right. The one downside is the poor low light performance, but I knew that going into buying it.

Works great, but is definitely a camera aimed for videographers, i wasn't very impressed with the photos. video: awesome, everything is designed for video great codec and great compression, better than my A7ii

GREAT camera.
You really can't beat the GH4 at this price point. The camera features and ability to shoot internal 4k make it the unquestionable favorite for DSLR video below $2k. In addition to production, we use it in a live multi-cam setup using and ATEM and stream to the internet. My only feedback for Panasonic/BlackMagic would be that I wish I could get the ATEM to accept the feed in .mov recording, rather than AVCHD.

Outstanding. Saved me thousand of dollars for this level of quality. Thanks Panasonic and B&H.

Couldn't be more pleased!
Bought the GH4 to utilize the video aspects of the camera and to be able to use some of the Nikon lenses that I have. Manual operation is quit easy and presents no problem with older lenses. The camera does exactly what the specs say. Its easy to learn how to operate the buttons and the results are pleasing to this point. My older TM900 camcorder makes a very good B role for the GH4. I have tried most of the video formats with FCPX and have not had any problems editing the video.

Novice first dslr
As a new user of DSLR camera's I was worried that the GH4 would be a little overwhelming. To my delight I found that I picked up the basics of photo and movie making quickly primarily bc The Menu parameters are intuitive; now along with the advanced PDF manual and the many GH4 instructional youtube videos, I am expanding my artistic abilities. As an amateur or novice at best photographer/videographer, I could not be happier with this somewhat expensive purchase.

The Best
I literally use this each week. I am a freelance videographer and a Video Supervisor for the Ontario Hockey League. This thing gets the job done in pretty much any situation I'm in. Great for sports, weddings and music videos for sure. I ended up biting the bullet and getting the $600 metabones speedbooster so I could use this camera with my Canon lenses. Glad I did. This paired with a Tamron 24-70mm L makes some amazing images. The sharpness on ... Show More

A Very Capable Camera
This is my second GH4, needing two matching cameras for video interview shoots. Adding the V-Log software opens the realm of 12-stop capture, and the Atomos Ninja Assassin brought up 4K to 4:2:2 10bit. I bought the interface unit which also provides SDI, full-size HDMI and a better audio section with XLR inputs, too. I like the better zooms from Panasonic - those with constant maximum aperture, and found the 45mm Leica/Panasonic lens to be a fant... Show More

Great Bundle!
So I ordered this for personal video projects because I've heard nothing but good things about this camera. Everything about the camera feels great and well made, it's a lighter build but that doesn't sacrifice the quality of how this camera feels. The features are another thing that I absolutely love, from the 4K and Variable Frame Rate to the without lens shooting and zebra stripes this camera covers everything I need. As for the RODE Mic it al... Show More

Great for snaps to pro 4K video. Bonus use old lenses too
Im still finding my way around all its capabilities but I am very impressed. Coming from a Nikon D70 I am obviously taking a leap forward in quality but a few things about this great Micro Four Thirds camera were even better when I got it than I understood from the reviews. Using Old high quality glass. I collected Konica SLRs with AR mount lenses many years ago. I had written them off even for eBay selling but the electronic viewfinder, focus pe... Show More

Great value. Great for Video.
I bought the Gh4 to step up from a Canon T3i. And it was everything and more than I expected. This camera packs a big punch, and it's smaller than Canon Rebel cameras. 4K images look amazing. I can't say enough good things about the Gh4. The only thing that is average or possibly below average is that it's low light features are not the greatest. But that is not a deal breaker.

Awesome 4K Photo Mode!
Watch quick tutorials online or read the manual. There is a lot this camera can do that it hard at first to find and understand how it actually works. There are people out there to help! I really like the 4k Photo Mode. With just a few seconds of 4k footage with a macro lens. I can have almost professional quality 8 megapixel stills on the camera itself in real time. It takes a while to go through all the frames but it's worth it especially out i... Show More

A videographer's best friend!
Such a great little camera for the price. It literally is the perfect camera for videographer's with it's mass amount of customizations and convenient button layouts. The only con for me was it's poor low light performance. But other than that, this is the camera to get! I've owned this camera a little over 6 months and I'm in love with it!

4k Video is why I bought
The most useful thing about this camera is the ability to capture great video. We produce video for church announcements and sermon bumpers. This camera makes the job so easy. It really captures great cinematic video.

Incredible 4K DCI for Digital Film
I purchased this camera for my MFA in Film and was still debating a Sony A7s right up until the VLog firmware update shipped. I am shooting with the GH4, and then applying the Vericam 35 LUT to the VLog footage. The color is stunning and stands out when we share footage in class. I'm sure the Sony's full-frame would offer more range, especially in low-light, but the results I'm getting are wowing classmates with much more expensive gear.

Best budget and performance camera
GH4 is undoubtedly a good camera. I know still many people complain about the low light performance. I had before, but I solved it! Actually you can just buy the lens brand like SLR Magic or Voigtlander which provide F/ 0.95. That is how I deal with low light. The only thing I really don't like GH4 is the position on its Mic jack, which made it loose easily. Also you can't hear the recorded audio with headphone AFTER the video recording begins...

Excellent
I shoot short films around my city and do some video work occasionally on the side. I was previously shooting with a Canon T2i, but I hated the dynamic range. Enter the GH4. Better dynamic range, 4K, 1080 at 96fps and 24p or 30p video with All-I compression at 200 Mbps. So far I have shot eveything at 4K and edited in a 4K timeline and rendered out to 1080. Beautiful. Finally my wide shots have detail. I would recommend this camera. More bang for the buck. Not disappointing at all. Plus, unlimited shooting and no sensor heating like my Canon T2i.
