Surprisingly sharp
Stopped down 1 stop it is surprisingly sharp. Good at wide and middle end, decent at long end. Great lens for price and size.

One of the best values in Micro 4/3
It may be cheap, but it delivers image quality well beyond other lenses in its price range or well above (just don't expect it to work well in low light). Due to its low price and weight, every Micro 4/3 user should have a copy to carry around. The 40-150 f/2.8 PRO lens may offer better image quality, I'm not sure its worth $$more to the majority of photographers.

The few days I been testing this lens the performance is good no complain whatsoever in low light situation the lens performed OK, sometimes it was difficult to focus but overall was OK.

Great lens for the price
I own a Olympus 50-200mm f2.8/3.5 but i was looking for a lightweight lens for casual photography. For the price this lens is sharp, very light. Great addition to my OMD-EM1 kit.

a great lens at an incredible price.
I bought this lens just after I got the new Lumix G7 with kit lens 14-42mm. I needed something immediately for a upcoming gig (run and go) and I didn't want bring my heavy beloved Nikon lenses. Also I didn't want to invest in a new expensive Panasonic Vario zoom. This lens has been an awesome surprise. Sharp with a fast autofocus and precise color rendering but especially VERY light!! and I was looking for something light to just put in my pocket... Show More

Exceptional Value
After years of shooting Canon APS-c, six months ago I purchased an Olympus E-M1 with the Oly 12-40 f2.8 PRO. That lens is really impressive. I love it.I wanted a longer lens and have been tempted to go for the 40-150 PRO, but the cost, size and weight have given me pause. I've wondered just how good (or bad) the really inexpensive Oly 40-150 f 4-5.6R is. It has always been really inexpensive, but recently, Oly has slashed the price in half to onl... Show More

M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6 R Lens (Black)
Use this lens on a Olympus OMD EM-10 when I need a bit more reach toward a subject. In good to strong light the lens works quite well with nice sharp images. In weaker light the focus point tends to hunt a bit but that is the tradeoff one makes with a slow, inexpensive lens. For the price it is a good value. The lens becomes weirdly extended when at the full 150mm since it has non internal focusing. Overall a nice lens for the money and compliments a kit lens quite nicely. In good light is where this lens really shines....

Don't Think, Just Buy It
Two days in and I am impressed with this lens on my Pocket cinema camera. First off, it is sharp. Did not expect that from a $ (on sale) lens. No lens creep is a major plus. Haven't pixel peeped and probably won't, so I'm not sure about CA's. Feels cheap, plastic mount. Don't care about that either. I also have the panasonic 14-45 and I can clearly see the difference in sharpness. Now I have to get a new wide lens to match the sharpness of the olympus. Also nice bokeh around 100mm.

great reach for a good price
Know that you get what you pay for. a lot of plastic, but the glass is clean and sharp. Nice range and good shallow DOF even at f5.6 when zoomed to 150mm (300mm = to FX or 35mm film). minimum focus is far away however this doesn't say anything about macro. A filter set can help close that gap. Take & Talk Pics

Incredible for the price
I paid $ for this lens. Image quality is great, it's super small and compact considering the zoom level. Totally recommended

Surprise
I admit it. I purchased this lens going by the reviews and had my doubts. Even when I got it out of the box I thought what a mistake I made. Wow, what a surprise I had when I snapped a few pictures. The pictures were surprisingly good. I don't know how it does it, but the reviews are correct. This for the price is a must lens and I am glad I took the advice.

Can't beat it for the price
If you're building your first Oly m43 kit, it's hard to pass this lens up. Very good IQ for the price, and you'll barely feel the weight of it in your kit.

Great for the price
I tend to rate items in relation to their cost. It would be silly to expect this lens to be in the same category as one 10 times the price; yet no professional lens is 10 times the value of a good albeit slower lens such as this. By that measure, I may rank a consumer lens higher than a professional lens simply because of value. Others may simply rank by quality, indifferent to cost. I think cost/utility a better way to rank, in that one would us... Show More

Good light-weight traveling lens
I use this lens for traveling to get a little extra reach. It is small and very light.....great for traveling. It is not super sharp, but more than adequate for smaller prints or internet photos. although I think you could get a very nice 8x10 or 11x14 inch prints.

Fantastic telephoto lens for the price
The lens body may look and feel cheap because it is made of plastic (doesn't make me want to try and test its durability) but the quality of the internal glass is excellent for the price. Obviously the image quality is not as good as most of the prime lenses or the pro lenses but it's hard to ask for more at this price.

Light is right
Great cost effective lens for banging around in the wild; very light. Since the body is plastic it won't take much abuse or wear, but for $ it's fine.

Great little tele zoom lens
Surprisingly light and compact. Took some tripod mounted test pictures with lens on my OM-D E-M10 and found the images to be sharper than I expected for a lens at this price point.

Nice Lens at a great price
I normally stick with prime lenses, but have missed having a telephoto. For the price, this lens is impressively sharp and has good contrast. At its best outdoors in daylight, using a monopod or tripod to steady it. Using it on my OM-D EM-5. As other reviews stated, it is plastic, but it adjusts smoothly enough and does not creep. The upside of the plastic is its a very lightweight lens. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who wants to add a telephoto without spending a lot, and primarily plans to use it outdoors.

Excellent value
For what it is, namely an inexpensive zoom telephoto lens, this is a very good choice for the Olympus OM-D series. It is a great supplement to the kit lens (extends your range into the telephoto), but don't forget to get a nice fast prime lens as well.

I really like this lens. It is a great value and works very well. It is also easier to use than the RK kit lens because locking and unlocking is not required.

Awesome
I was a little worried whe I opened this up since it was mainly plastic. However, I am impressed with the nature photos I have been able to take. Have also used it with family shots. Nice to be able to put this on and extend the range. Also threaded for filters which I like. Great value.
