Kensington Expert Mouse Wired Trackball

Quality feel, helps reduce repetitive stress injury for me
I'm a video editor and I bought this to reduce or eliminate the repetitive stress injury pain I feel from using a mouse. This feels good in the hand and enhances the overall experience of interacting with my computer.

Horrible mouse
This is garbage. Drivers don't work for Windows 7 64 bit and above and the design makes your wrist hurt. There are tons of other brands and models to choose from, stay away from this one

This mouse is GARBAGE
Works as a regular mouse once the receiver is installed, but do not try to install the software, IT IS A NIGHTMARE, IT DOES NOT WORK. If I can use it only without the software, I prefer to buy a much cheaper one. This one goes back to B&H

Great track ball. No ability to customize though.
Great track ball. Only limitation. Can't utilize customization software for Mac on mouse because it's Bluetooth. Customization software to customize buttons are only for wired Kensington track balls.

Game changing tool
I wish I had purchased this product sooner. I must admit that it took a little bit of effort to get used to using it, but once I did I realized how much more convenient my workflow has become. No more repetitively swiping the mouse on the pad to get the arrow where I need it, or getting into those awkward positions where I find myself running out of space on the pad. All that's gone now. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to make their time spent on the computer more streamlined and their screen navigation smarter.

Inconsistent Production
The mouse has perfect functionality but lacks in model to model consistency where quality is concerned. I purchased this mouse to replicate an office setup in my home, only to discover that the scroll ring operation isn't nearly as smooth as others I have used. This was the case right out of the box.

Can't use. Software will not install.
The software crashes on install and after 3 weeks still have not heard anything from Kensington support. I sent in an email request and they told me to call. I called and they told me to send in an email. This is worthless to me if I can't customize the buttons. Right now I just have a paperweight. I would recommend never buying anything with the Kensington name.

The Best
This product is really great for my everyday use. I'm a recording/mixing engineer I use pro tools 12.5 and this is great for my workflow. Whats great about this is that you can set the 4 buttons on this trackball to function how you want it to function. Not in just 1 application. You can have multiple applications set up the way you want it to work for you. Or you can have it do certain things for all applications. SWEET!!!! Theres is nothing bad... Show More

Nostalgia is not dead!
Works just like I remember which is significant. This trackball allows me to work in tighter spaces than a traditional mouse. It is smooth and responsive. The four button are great and well spaced out. I am pleased with my purchase.

Works great
I have always used a trackball and have been waiting for a wireless version to come out. This works great either through Bluetooth or USB.

Very functional pointing device with nice features
This device has a rather large trackball, which takes a bit of getting used to but is very functional after a day or so. The scroll wheel around the ball is useful for quickly navigating pages. The 4 buttons are programmable for use with certain programs but I suspect not all. I have not had any luck getting them to cut and paste blocks of audio when using Audacity audio editor/producer. The angle of the device feels good, and I have not attached the included wrist rest.

Comfortable scrolling, selection, and custom button control
Simple actuate control and the added buttons allow for simple selection of functions - right and left mouse click, forward and back, as well as application shortcuts.

A bit disappointed
I used this model trackball at work for years (older model from 2010), but they've changed the construction quite a bit, and it feels cheap now. The ball socket no longer has steel bearings, just what look like plastic nubs, so the smoothness is decreased. The scroll wheel also feels very rough, plastic on plastic binding. It works, and I like it better than a regular mouse, but I sure wish it had the same feel of quality as the one I used at work. Maybe it will break in after a while... I will still recommend, but with noted issues...

Must have for Video Editing
I've never used a trackball so I bought this because I needed more precise wheel movement on a professional video editing software. This is nice. I would have given it a 5 stars but the wheel has a slight rough turn and feels like sticking so I bumped it down to a 4. Other than that, this is a cheaper alternative to a Wacom tablet if you need precision editing. When I bought this, only the wired version was on sale (Deal Zone). I would rather hav... Show More

Must Have for Digital Audio
You will forget about your mouse and even your touchscreen. Not that those aren't great technologies, they just require you perform the strenuous, repetitive and ultimately torturous gymnastics that your back, shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist and fingers need to through manipulating mice and touchscreens, (which can lead to serious pain and worse) in audio and video apps. Well, that's all history using the Expert Mouse trackball to move through audio ... Show More

Great Trackball
This track ball is comfortable, large ball so the hand and fingers move less and the arm rest is really very comfortable. Kensington comes through again!!!

Great Roll Track Ball
This trackball is amazing! Great for a lefty like myself. Programmable buttons. Very accurate response and smooth tracking.

My favorite trackball
I tried several mice and trackballs including logitech M570 and the Trackball Marble. This trackball by far is the best for CAD. The ball movement is so precise, fast and smooth. The stroll ring could be better, but it's not so essential to my work. Highly recommended.

Best in its field.
I edit audio & video all day, and can't imagine using anything else. Setting up the buttons for custom functions makes editing even faster.

J'ust the thing for someone with dexterity-challenged hands.
I purchased the Kensington Expert Wireless Trackball to use with a new laptop because I needed something that would give me the ability to control the pointer with greater precision than either the track pad or a regular mouse. My hands are partially paralyzed and I cannot control the pointer with any precision with either. The small-diameter trackballs are equally difficult for me. The large diameter Kensington is the solution and works great. M... Show More

No More Desk Real Estate
Largest ball on the block. Massive ball allows for more detailed pointer movement, as well as having a larger mass for moving across the screen quicker. I have owned three of these, and usually purchase them through a competitor. This item was on Deal Zone, and was almost 50% the price they offer. I couldn't pass it up. Problems: The only reason I have three of them is because of the quality (or lack of) when it comes to the scroll ring. Cleaning... Show More

Quick response and adaptable
I use the wireless trackball with my MacBook Pro at my desk. This is my second Kensington Trackball at home. I had one at the office, too, when I was a writer for a computer company. I like the ergonomics of not having to move my hand all over the place. Both the trackball mice I had previously were wired. This is my first time with a wireless trackball mouse, and it's working fine. The mouse is easy to switch back and forth for right-hand or lef... Show More

Good track ball
You pay a premium for the wireless but I didn't want any more cables around and this is a good trackball. Two ways to connect too. Both seem to work fine. If you need a trackball (e.g., for ergonomic reasons), this is a good one. My third Kensington. BH got it to me super fast, as always. In fact, Kensington didn't even have this new model in stock; only BH! Set up instructions, in pictures, not especially helpful. I finally realized that step 4 -- I think it was -- was to press all for buttons on the track ball simultaneously.

The Next Level of Control
This has become a wonderful tool for my home recording setup. Coming from a conventional point-click mouse this takes a little time to get used to. You quickly catch on and it opens up a whole new world of access/control. The scroll wheel and customization buttons give it your own personal touch too...and maybe it's just me but using it massages my hand a bit too. I've yet to see how long the battery lasts but I'll chime in again if it's a frequent change thing. Great mouse though!
