Outstanding monitor, good color and remarkable clarity. Primarily used for software development; text is sharp and clear as well as having great color and glare resistance.

Dead after a year
I bought this monitor despite my prior experiences with poor quality from Dell products. I was tempted by the price, specs, and good reviews. I now wish I had spent a little more and gotten a better product. When it works, the display is beautiful, which is the only good thing I can say about it. Unfortunately for me though, the monitor only lasted about a year. It will power on but nothing is displayed. I can't even get the menu items to come up... Show More

Great Monitor for photo work
I bought this monitor to use specifically for photography work. I work with Adobe Lightroom and I love the crisp display of the images I'm working with. The only negative is the lack of a detailed set up guide. Also would have been nice if an HDMI to HDMI cable had been supplied. Other than that, I'm happy with the purchase.

Great External Monitor for Retina MacBook Pro 15
I was a bit hesitant in buying a non Apple monitor, however after reading the reviews here and comparing prices (ouch!, as we know) this seemed to be a fine option. Well it is and much more. I use iMacs and I like the aspect ratio on this Dell even more as well as the matte finish which really works beautifully here. Color rendition is superb and as others say it is truly plug and play if you do it correctly.. First, use the included DP to miniDP... Show More

This monitor is AMAZING
I use this monitor to replace an over ten year old CRT monitor that I have been using for editing photos. The images on this monitor are AMAZING. Because I have a four old computer, it was a bit of a challenge hook up and get going, but I used a USB3 to HDMI converter and an HDMI cord and all is well in the kingdom. I really like the monitor and will recommend it to anyone wanting a sub-$500.00 monitor to edit photos.

Sharp, clear text
I use this monitor attached to a Dell Precision M4800 laptop with an AMD discrete graphics card. My preference is the Paper Preset mode. When I go back to using a non-4K monitor, I can hardly believe the difference. Text is so clear and so sharp on this monitor. I almost forgot what eye strain problems were. Old software often doesn't work well with 4K, and I suspect that the AMD graphics card doesn't handle it real well, but I'm still not sorry that I bought it! I largely work in Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, and browsers, and they handle 4K just fine.

Super sharp and good build quality
It's been a couple weeks using this monitor now and it's a great device. It's an excellent alternative to more expensive monitors for content creation, such as photography, which is what I use it for primarily. Color rendition is great for the money. This monitor is superb for viewing/editing high resolution images. The stand is heavy and sturdy. I like how adjustable the stand is, which allows me to tilt, turn and raise/lower the monitor. it Delivers
I bought this to replace an Asus that I was using with my personal 13 MacBook Pro Retina and my Lenovo for work. The Asus worked fine with the Lenovo, but text was horrible when it was connected with the MBP. The Dell has, on the other hand, been exceptional and works great with both machines.

Great for home AND office because...
... why wouldn't anyone want great color accuracy and imagine definition? Given the price tag, this was a great value for money. I take a lot of x-rays and DSLR photos using a 105mm Nikon lens. This monitor has been a game-changer for me in more ways than one.

Great monitor, extremely easy to hook up. Hooked this up to my MacBook pro in a manor of minutes. Works well for working on my photos.

But this if you have a 2015 MacBook Pro. Plug n play
Not a dell fan but this monitor exceeds my expectations for price/value. Plug and play exceptional with 2015 MacBook Pro through the provided thunderbolt/minidisplay port cable. So happy with this purchase. The monitor even matches the look of the 2015 MacBook. Extremely pleased.

Near perfect monitor for my 2016 Mac Pro
I wear reading glasses, and the pixel density at my viewing distance could most certainly be characterized as Retina. The 24 size suits me better than the 27 size of my old imac. Color accuracy and contrast are very good. I'm using this on a 2016 Mac Pro and what would make it a 5-star is if the Apple keyboard's screen brightness controls would work with the monitor.

A lot of pixels for a 24 screen
I bought this monitor along with a hotter computer to use for 4k video editing. The display is incredibly sharp. Text is especially clear and crisp. However, I was not impressed with the factory calibration. It took me quite a while to get the white balance to match my old Dell U2412M (1920x1200) which has always looked incredible. That was critical since I use the monitors side by side with the Extended option. Win10 allows independent scaling o... Show More

Pretty decent monitor for the price
I was looking for more screen and two of these hooked up to a Thunderbolt 3 connector did the trick. I also bought the Dell MDS14 Dual Monitor Stand (5TPP7) from somewhere less expensive.

Great option for retina Macbook Pro
I'm running this as an external display for a 15 Macbook Pro (mid-2015 model), and so far am very happy with the appearance and performance in its default 2k mode (for both code editing and photographic work). It was literally plug-and-play using the supplied DP cable on El Capitan, and the additional port options are extremely useful.

Near-retina sharpness on a MacBook Pro 13 (2015 model)
I wanted a monitor to provide retina or near retina-like sharpness. My 2015 MacBook Pro 13 is rated to drive 4k at 60hz via display port. So I gave it a shot and and very pleased. As expected, I run it in the 2k mode but get near-retina sharpness because it is actually 4k (or really 3.8k, that is, UHD). I researched this and discovered that iMac run their 5k screens at 2.5k. In general, 4k or 5k is too small to read, but, provide that nice near-r... Show More

Good cheap(er) display with mini display port.
I got this display for my on set tech-ing kit. It's light enough to make transport not an issue. It calibrates nicely. Is big enough without being too big. Plugs right into my 15 Macbook Pro without any issues. The built in USB3 hub is very handy. All around a great display for my purposes. Not doing color critical work on it, mostly using it for capture. half the price of similarly spec-ed screens. For the money it's excellent.

I'm Getting 4K on 2012 Mac Mini
Using the Dell supplied display port to thunderbolt cable I am getting 4K @ 30Hz on my 2012 Mac Mini base model upgraded to 16 GB of Ram.. At least I think I am. I clicked on the Apple logo in the top left corner and under display it says 3840x2160 @ 30 Hz. That was a nice surprise. I thought only the newest Mac Mini supported 4K. This may be psychological but I was shocked at how good everything looks on this monitor. I am upgrading from a 2008 ... Show More

Great bargain 4K monitor
I've had this for 6 months now and I'm very satisfied with it. I've had no problems whatsoever, no dead pixels, no sleep/wake problems, the monitor always works perfectly in my experience. I use it with my early 2015 Retina Macbook Pro 13 and it works great, especially when connected from the Macbook's mini display port to the monitor's display port input using the included cable. Good monitor for price point
Giving 5 stars for value. I'm using this as external display with my MBP 15 retina. Out of box, it paired up right away and while I have not tried adjusting colors, etc it beats my old HD monitor hands down. As noted by other reviewers it lacks the pop of an Apple product but for the price it's great. I was considering buying the marked down 27 iMac retina but decided that this would be a good alternative until Apple rolls out the updated retina Thunderbolt 27 next year.

Underwhelmed, cheap looking monitor
I bought this because of the good reviews. 1. It looks cheap. When you're used to Mac products like I've been used to for 17 years. You get what you pay for. It looks like a cheap Microsoft plastic monitor. The gray color does not match Apple's aluminum whatsoever. 2. It's connected to my late 2014 Macbook Pro and the brightness does not adjust the screen, you have to always to to the buttons on the lower right corner of the Dell. 3. Sleeping. It... Show More
