Great sounding, convenient

Dec 13, 2012

I got these to replace an older set of JVC headphones that I broke (in an accident involving hiking boots, my head, and the floor). These sound great - very flat, good for editing and for rough mixing, but they fold up enough that they're portable.

Excellent sound for a fair price

Feb 22, 2011

I listen a lot to acoustic/instrumental music (i.e. Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, The Cardigans) with not so heavy bass and these headphones gives me excellent sound for the fair price. Clear sound, you hear every sound perfect. Highly recommended.

great!

These are simply great headphones. I also own MDR-7506 as well for studio work. It is really hard to hear any difference between them honestly. Great for mixing when you are traveling and perfect for tracking vocals and guitars in the studio.

Perfect sound!

Feb 4, 2019

Exactly what I wanted. Superb quality and sound. The only thing I would prefer is a detachable cable as I find the coiled cable a little heavy and bulky. But that is no big deal considering the sound quality coming out of these headphones!

A Classic, Still Shines!

May 21, 2013

These headphones have been sold by Sony since before digital recording, but the quality and sound fidelity is quite good. I don't think you can get 'phones this good at such a low price anywhere else. Get them while Sony still makes them.

Quality headphones

Mostly used for pc gaming music and some video/sound editing. I think these have all around great sound from top to bottom. Crisp highs mid tone are good bass is the best clear with a punch. Comfortable for new cans. I like the coil cord.

Great Headphone

Aug 18, 2010

I use these with a portable pro audio mixing rig and as a camera headphone. Great sound for such a compact headphone, comfortable, cheap, well-built. Earphone pads slip off sometimes. A no-brainer purchase for a headphone of this quality.

Makes a big difference!

May 1, 2008

When our band started recording we had a few cheap pairs of headphones and they were almost useless for any kind of reference. I finally convinced them to pick these up and it's made a huge difference in our recording process and quality.

Great Headphones, Compact, Comfortable

Oct 25, 2013

They have a 20 to 20000 hz range ( i think ) They fold up nicely, they flex and don't seem to get broken easily. These are my third pair in 25 years. The last ones got lost, ( and found again ) I now have 2, but don't regret the purchase.

comfortable, foldable, good quility.

Feb 3, 2011

I use this Sony V6 with my H4N. It is very comfortable to wear hours and hours. It is very easy to store too. It is foldable and there is a leather case come with it. I can even put my V6 in my camera bag. One more thing is good quility.

Excellent value

Apr 10, 2008

We have three of these units which we use for monitoring recordings and editing. They do adequately close out outside sound, and have a good and clear sound quality. Good little feature is that it comes with a 1/4 to 1/8 plug adaptor.

Very Impressed

Feb 27, 2011

These headphones are really good, especially considering the price range. If you're kind of deciding whether or not to get them, I would definitely recommend buying them. There hasn't been a day yet were they haven't been on my head.

Great Audio

I've been making beats for about 3 years and I needed a pair of headphones that played clean and crisp audio and had the right quality sound, these headphones reproduce perfect frequencies and give you an accurate feedback. Great buy

Best headphones

These are awesome headphones, they are similar to the more expensive Sony MDR-7506 - the cord is extra long and they are VERY comfortable after wearing them for long periods of time.I couldn't recommend them more. Expertise: Prosumer

Great Phones

Sep 12, 2013

These phones are great. Time tested great performance. Just make sure you test them as soon as you get them. I have had a pair that had a defective phone. It crackled a bit on low notes. But B&H quickly replaced it with a good pair.

MDR-V6 Headphones

Jun 19, 2011

I ordered these headphones to replace my old MDR-V4 headphones, which still sound great but are starting to fall apart. The MDR-V6 headphones sound just as good with better midrange response. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I like these headphones

Jan 29, 2011

I bought these to replace my old worn 7506 headphones that have been used daily for years. So far so good. They sound and feel the same to me. I won't know for a few years if they will withstand the test of time but so far so good.

Great Headphones for the price.

Apr 14, 2008

The Headphones are great. I used it on the plane and could hardly hear the engine noise without turning on my headphones. The sound was crystal clear with my computer and iPod. I would buy this product to give as gifts if I had to.

I purchased for these for $ on Guam when they first came out in 1985. I work in broadcasting and program production and for the price have never heard headphones that were any better. Just replaced the earpads. They are keepers.

Great Headphones

Feb 8, 2012

These are the best headphones I've used for both video shoots and while editing. Sound quality is great, light weight and sold at a reasonable price. Only draw back, as with most headphones, is the wire can get tangled easily.

Excellent Choice

Dec 8, 2019

Nothing but good things to say. The issue I hear some reviewers bring up is the coiled cord. This has not been an issue for me since the cord is thin and light and in no way interferes with my movements around my workstation.

I you the product for listening to audio and soundtrack files for school and work. No sound difference between speakers and Headphones on playback. Yet you can hear the small differences in different compressed audio files.

MDR-V6 Me ASAP

Jan 9, 2012

I bought these for my son, age 15, I think they are better than popular headphones that are 3 times the cost, which my daughter owns. They were recommended by a DJ friend, they are great -- and hip enough to wear in public.
