Worth The Wait!
Outstanding Camera! Worth the wait but it would have been great to have had 2 years ago. Body has a good solid feel and positioning of controls combined with flexibility of reassigning button functions is downright remarkable. Low light capabilities and quality of images is unbelievable. Couldn't be happier with purchase . N.B. Lightroom 6.8 is necessary to process RAW from this camera. C.F. Roth Jr.

Overheats and shuts down. STILL!!
So mad that after all these years Sony still can't make a dslr that doesn't overheat. Seriously. My GoPro can shoot longer than this. In 4K mode it overheats and shuts off after about 20 minutes. So not happy with this.

Resolution is awesome.
Wow, great big beautifully sharp files. Ideally I try to shoot without cropping, however with 120mb rgb files you can crop and still have good size files. Not crazy about the grip, when shooting 90 minutes straight felt fatigue, needs to be larger. The perfect grip would be the a900 with the weight of a emount a7 series body. Shutter is real quiet.

Awesome
I love everything about this camera. I use it from landscapes, wildlife and rodeos. It purrs like a kitten.

An amazing update to a very good camera
Fast, accurate, insane dynamic range, out of this world detail, all packaged in a high resolution what you see is what you get EVF. Frankly, it is all I wanted from my Sony a7r ii. It solves all my issues. Use this and the Sony 135 1.8 and you'll never look back.

Buy this and not that!
Finally, a full frame, full size DSLR camera that can go toe to toe with other well known brand for basically half their price and twice their power.

Amazing Camera
I finally managed to add this to my collection and it does not disappoint. Low light photography is great and image resolution with a Zeiss 85mm F1.4 is phenomenal. The only downside would be the vertical grip with two batteries in total. Using the Sony a99 I had the opportunity of using three batteries which included my vertical grip and I never had to worry about anything. I would definitely recommend this camera. www.raysinghphotography.com www.instagram.com/raysinghphotography www.facebook.com/raysinghphotography

Great camera for professional and hobbyests who want bettero
What a great camera. You can customize it, it takes great shots. Pricy, but good value. I miss the built in Flash and GPS (it obtains this inf from paired smartphone). It has a great hybrid autofocus system, but you can only use it with the proper lens... A Sony made for full frame. The size and weight are better than most Full frame DSLRs. Battery life seems poorer than many in this class, but if you have a couple of spare batteries, not a issue. I do recommend this camera if you need the functions and pixel count.

Problems with continuous video AF and televonverters
This is a great camera for photography but is limited for videography if you use continuous autofocus. Continuous autofocus only works in program mode. The continuous autofocus does not function with third party teleconverters, however works in single autofocus with third-party teleconverters. The Sony Tele converter only works with Sony lens so this is a limitation in using third party lens for sports or birding.

The a99 Mark II is a True Master Piece!
I've been a loyal Canon user for years and felt a little guilty about jumping ship. However, after using this camera a few times, I feel very comfortable with my decision. This camera truly ROCKS! On paper, the specs are great but to see this beast in action is Awesome! Sony just has work on bringing down the cost of their lens.

I would buy again and highly recommend
I have used both most of the major brands and out of the box this camera is awesome. I do macro photography and have produced very nice pictures to publish.

Best camera I've ever owned!
Overall, this camera is great. I have a large inventory or A-mount lenses, so the A7 line (E-mount) is a good match. Highlights: 1. Fast focusing 2. Low light capability 3. Easy layout of controls (don't need to go into menus to change almost everything) 4. High resolution (42M pixels) 5. Focus peaking 6. Focus tracking Previously, I have used the Sony A900, and A99. This is a nice step up from the A99, while the camera controls are very similar.... Show More

My dream camera
Such a versatile camera. Has it all, with low light capabilities, sports action shots(12 fps), and near limitless programming options. The images produced are wonderful. If you can afford it, make sure to marry it with high quality class that will compliment the 42mp sensor. I use this camera for shooting my real estate listings, family photos, and high school sporting events.

Love It
I have only had this camera for a short time. I previously had the A77. The focus is so much faster and the low light shooting is so much better and the pictures I have take so sharp. There are a lot of great upgrades. I will see how this is for photographing flying birds tomorrow. So far I am very happy.

My go to cameta body!
I use the A99ii for portrait and family photography. I use my 35mm, 85mm and 50mm mostly. I love the sharp images it produces and the easy to use menu. Great camera.

Best Sony camera ever made.
From beginning with the a100 and moving to the a700, a77ii, a99 and now the a99ii, I can honestly say this is the best Sony camera I have ever used. I use it for photojournalism and sports photography. Zero problem shooting at 16000 to 25600 iso during nighttime ballgames. Paired with a Tamron 70-200 2.8, Minolta 100mm 2.8 and a 24-75 2.8, you will get sharp photos and great detail in all photos.

Yes would buy again.
Bought in anticipation of use on a wildlife safari this Spring. Camera is an excellent companion to the A77 II and is matched excellently with the Tamron 70-200 SP and 150-600 SP lenses. Incredible buffer increase from earlier model, especially with 42MP sensor and up to 11 Frames Per Second shooting. Seems rugged and more than capable still shooter. Sony hit a home run with this model, at a price point half of the competitions'.

Absolutely Amazing!
Well, let me start by saying I've started my professional photography venture with the Sony A65, then the A77ii and now the a99ii. I've tried, studied and compared more cameras than I even want to mention, so with that being said, I'm not one of those Sony drum beaters whose going to put down Canon or Nikon. To me its very simple..........the Sony a99ii just fit me more comfortably in terms of ergonomics, specs I wanted and the internal workings,... Show More

Excellent Camera
Ive had the camera for about three weeks now on two winter drives first outing I just took it and used it without digging into the new features to much as I have an Alpha 900 that is similar to this A99ii body and the results where great shooting mostly in auto. Started reading the manual that you can download online better than the start up manual that comes with it, and started tweaking the custom buttons and exploring the different options now... This is the best camera Sony has ever produced.
My new camera was delivered on December 28, 2016. I have been totally impressed. I currently own two A99 cameras and one A77M2 in addition to the A99M2. I am a birding photographer and use the Sony 500mm f/4 and 300mm f/2.8 lenses. The A77M2 and the A99M2 are physically and functionally very similar. The A99M2 has a header on each menu page that categorizes the items on that page. I find this helpful. The function menu allows you to select your m... Show More

What Sony did wrong.
The camera is an electronic marvel. The three problems with the camera are 1. Joystick control is imprecise and hard to use. 2. the trigger button it too sensitive and hard to find the half press causing the camera to release the shutter when all you want is to prefocus. 3. The camera with the vertical grip and 24-70 Zeiss lens weighs a ton. I still like it but a lot of owners do not and some have asked to return it and have their purchase price ... Show More
