Monitor ISSUE
I received this camera two days ago BRAND new. I made my own custom keys and was very excited to use it. Today, I went outside to take few pictures and record a video for roughly 10 seconds. Then, I switched from Video mode to Photo mode, suddenly the monitor will not show any image. If I click menu, it will show on the menu, if I take a picture and click the playback button, it will show the picture. However, it still will not show any liveview.... Show More

The Opportunities!
Bought this because I couldn't get the body just by itself without waiting a long time. I'm overseas with a APO box and they shipped this at a well paced timely manner, didn't wait long before it was in my APO box. I'm so excited!

Menu complexity kills an otherwise good camera
Got this back in April, and was enamored with it. Now as I try to really understand all its capabilities, I'm deeply frustrated with the confusing menu flow, and the awful operating manual. All but unusable, and just looking at it puts me in a bad mood. Last straw was a 26 step firmware update email which was unintelligible. Regret the move from Canon. Look for this on Ebay in the coming weeks.

This thing is a beast!
I came from an A6300 so IMO the picture quality wasn't a night and day huge difference, i didn't buy this camera for that reason. I bought it for some of its other specs....better low light performance, Dual SD card slots, proxy video files, and the numerous little other features that you don't think of but once you use them you're glad they're available. -Low light capabilities is alot better...the noise seems to be "fine" and not "coarse" noi... As good as they claim
Best camera I have purchased for stills and video. Solid build. Feels more expensive than the MSRP. Two examples with the kit lens. Nice bokeh on the lock/fence shot. 4K video looks tack sharp. My only complaint is the price for telephoto lenses. I will get the Zeiss 55mm prime but I might cheap out and get an APSC lens for my telephoto uses which are not many. When my bank account allows I will get the G Master 70-200 F2.8 but it is an expensive... Show More

Great Lens; Better Camera Body
The Lens The 24-105mm is a great all-purpose zoom lens. I use it primarily for travel photography, but you could do portraits, landscape, and other artsy shots just as well. Pros: * It has great image quality. * The f/4 appeture is fast enough for many low-light and dusk shoots (at least with the A7III). * The electronic focus motor is fast. Cons: * It is heavy. You will definitely feel it in your backpack after a long day ... Show More

So far so good
Haven't really put the camera through its paces yet but it seems pretty great so far. I'm using it mainly for night time/ long exposure/astrophotography. It's a HUGE step up from my previous camera (Canon T2i) in terms of sensor noise as well as features. So nice being able to pair with my phone to use it as a secondary monitor and intervelometer. Pushing the ISO super high still gets a bit noisy but at much much higher ISOs than other cameras I've used.

Mind Blowing Camera
Coming from Canon, I am used to a reasonably straightforward menu. This one is almost endless, allowing you to do pretty much anything you can imagine and a lot of stuff you have not yet imagined. The possibilities with this camera are incredible. One incredible example is that it can recognise a particular face, and focus just on that face when photographing in a crowd or at a wedding. I am only just beginning to learn this camera, but so far I am amazed.

So far SOOOO Good:)!
Its back-ordered everywhere. I bought one through best buy which said it would ship once in stock... I waited 3 weeks and it was still back ordered......I decided to see if B&H was any different. I ordered 1 also (tax free:) which saved me an additional $300). In 2 days it said it was shipping??!!!!! I cancelled Best buy:) Camera is awesome. I went from a Sony A300 to this and the Pics are so much more sharp and clear. The option to send pics/vids and control with Cell phone are amazing. And the 4K videos......don't take my word for it...go get one:)!!!!!

Great Camera
We upgraded to these at my place of work. I have used the A7s...sii and the rii as well. I can say that the A7iii is hands down a better overall camera. The ability to shoot stills and video with the same camera has been an amazing advantage for us. Especially because we shoot a lot of events in which we need to deliver both interviews/B-roll and pictures. I will say though, unfortunately one of the cameras we purchased began having a communication problem with the lens after our first shoot. B&H was happy to replace it. Hope that this isn't something that happens again.

One week: Amazingly Great!
I have only used the camera for about one week, and am waiting for a new lens. It seems quick and the focus is super fast. I like the quality of the picture and the versatility of the options, though there is much to get used to. I really feel like my photos will be better. I had currently been using the Sony A6500 with G lenses.

Great Swiss army knife camera.
This is a first full-frame camera and I am loving it. This camera does everything well: Low light, stills, video, feature packed (except for software based intervalometer). Good lenses are pricey for mirrorless but the results are quite impressive. I have a Batis 18 f2.8, 55mm f1.8, the 24-105 f4 and a 70-300 f4.5-5.6. The camera is actually very ergonomic are very easy to use once you customize the buttons and controls to your liking. The menu s... Show More

very customizable
I've been using a 5D mkII for years, and this camera is like re-entering the digital age. Everything is customizable, there's a bunch to learn about video. That being said, I've had this camera for two months and I'm very happy. Set it up who you'd like, then learn your shortcuts (Fn. Buttons, quick menus, etc), and you can handle a variety of situations very quickly. Low light performance is stellar. I've used a metabones adapter heavily. I... Show More

Best Upgrade without breaking the bank
I bought the a7III, mostly because I could not afford the Canon 1d markii. I love Canon cameras, but there was no in between upgrade from my 70D. So, I did my research and found this Sony. I do mostly video, and I love it! All the specs/ reviews on YouTube have lived up to par. The only reason I would give it 4 1/2 stars was because of how long it took to get to me. I was told B&H has the best customer service, so I decided to purchase this camer... Show More

Love this camera!
This camera has surpassed all my expectations! Coming from the a6500, which I still own and love, the a7iii has several features which make it a great upgrade....excellent low light performance, battery life (this alone is worth it!), more AF points and 2 memory card slots. Feel like this camera will be my workhorse for years to come!

After Nikon and Canon releases, I'm happy I picked Sony.
I ordered this camera with a 2 week backorder, and during that time Canon and Nikon were releasing their cameras. And I was worried to say the least, wondering if I had made a rushed decision with the Sony cam. My defending logic in purchasing this one was that, Sony has been making mirrorless cameras for the past 5 years. Nikon and Canon will be releasing their first ever, and there's no doubt they will have some mistakes and things they will im... Show More

Haven't had a lot of use with it yet but filmed 2 full wedding days and so far I love it. Snappy AF, the FF to S35 mode is amazing. Haven't taken a lot of stills with it yet but the ones I have taken are all tack sharp, spot on focus and quick. The 85 1.8 looks amazing and works very well with this camera.

Still the best pick for Full-Frame Mirrorless in q4 2018
This thing is an absolute beast. The low light capabilities are AMAZING. 10fps shooting in stills mode, 4k 25fps video and 120fps in 1080p is essential, not to mention the dual card slots. Even in September 2018 this is the best bang for your buck. The Nikon Z series and new Canon Mirrorless cameras (that aren't even available yet) can't touch the value and performance of this camera. There's a reason they're always back-ordered.

Shoots like a dream
After shooting for years on my Canon, I finally decided to take the plunge and buy the a7iii to see what Sony has to offer. Holy cow. this camera is a BEAST. It's gorgeous, feels great in the hand, and shoots phenomenally! You're getting a whole lot of bang for your buck :) 10/10 would highly recommend
