Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm and 55-210mm Lenses Kit (Silver)
A nice upgrade from my Canon Rebel
I love that this camera is small and lightweight yet still has a large sensor that takes great pictures. It works wonderfully in low light and has a number of automatic and optional features to help me take great shots. While you could shoot with this camera on aperture or shutter priority, or manual the same as others, the optional features take some time to learn and adjust to. For instance, auto focus lock and motion tracking are nice features... Show More

Loves a great zoom or prime
I have both a Sony A7 and A6000 and I use the A6000 as a second body to mount my old Nikon film lenses with a Metabone adapter. The A7 is more forgiving of zooms, the A6000 really performs well with a great zoom. But both cameras give wonderful results with old primes. The Sony sensors are capable of great detail and sharpness. I love the manual focusing options and the focus peaking, but the Zebra function is far less useful than Olympus's highl... Show More

great DSLR replacement
Great camera. Has same or more features then most aps-c DSLR cameras at half the size. Great for traveling since its a fraction of the weight of a traditional dslr.

great camera
Ive had a Canon powershot SX10 IS for about 8 yrs. My brother who is a photographer suggested this camera for my simple point and shoot needs. It is a great camera that takes high quality pics and video. It takes indoor shots alot better than our older camera.

So Far I love it
I haven't fully had the chance to really go out and shoot with it a lot. So far autofocus is really fast especially with action shots. Clear indicator that it is focused. Shoots very fast. Seems like RAW can't keep up with the 11 FPS. What I really like is I have the camera and a longer lens and it is incredibly light and portable. I really bought this to travel and am really excited to use it. I also got the Lowepro traveler 100 bag which is tiny and it fits an extra lens, charger and some accessories perfectly.

Great! Just wish it had XAVC-S
I'm a soon to be film student who wanted an upgrade to my current camera. It handles very well, and fits right in my hands. However there are a LOT of menus, and I wish it had XAVC-S codec instead of AVCHD. However, for the price, it's really great!

Very Nice Sony A6000
I had rented the Sony A6000 to try it out and was very happy with it. So, when a 2015 deal came, I couldn't resist. I love the camera. It takes great photos and I especially like the ability to shoot in low light. The camera is lightweight, so I don't have to lug a huge heavy camera around.

Solid performer for video and stills
I used to shoot video on a Canon T3i, my thought process being that I'd invest in their lenses and upgrade the bodies accordingly. I love that camera, especially with the ML hack. It was reliable and versatile. I needed a b-cam so I bought a Sony a5100. The size alone made it far more likely for me to use it in situations where a dslr would be impractical or prohibited. The images were great but video stole the show. After 3 months with both came... Show More

great camera!
I purchased this as un upgrade to my Nex 5n and have been very pleased. There are notable improvements to the automatic functions which makes it a lot easier to hand the camera off to a stranger and be able to be in the family shots while still getting a good picture. The wifi connectivity and remote with my android phone is also impessive. The increase in speed for the auto focus is very welcome especially when taking pictures of my always movin... Show More

Switched to Sony
I have had a Nikon D40 for many years and was extremely pleased. This camera however is a major leap forward in picture quality, flexibility in shot configuration, technology and well as value. I have had several opportunities to shoot with this camera in varying light and action shot scenarios and have been satisfied with the results.

I Love this Camera!
I love this camera! This is my first foray into the world of mirrorless cameras and I have to say again, I Love this Thing! And all the overwhelmingly positive reviews on the internet have just confirmed the wisdom of this purchase. Light and lightning fast. I have a sense that this will be my constant companion.

Wow. What a camera!
Got this for a 'street' camera. You know, something less obvious than a 5dMkIII (which I just added to the stable). Took the A6000 on two serious test drives, one in London and one in Cuba. Passed with flying colors. Inconspicuous (compared to my fellow traveller in Cuba with his Nikon D600 and enormo 70-300mm). Incredible photos. I will admit to having cheated a lot in Cuba -- I did not have a lot of time to diddle with settings, so I set it on ... Show More

On cloud nine with my a6000
Wow!! I can't believe a camera this small and inexpensive can produce such high quality images. I've shot graffiti walls, a botanical garden with hundreds of lights, an arboretum and a plaza with fountains. I'm amazed at its low light, low noise capabilities. The reviews about auto focus speed are right on! I can't say enough good things about this camera. I've owned a Canon Rebel XSI, 60D and the Sony RX100M3. Mirrorless is the way to go! Also, ... Always wanted a full frame camara. But this camara offers quality of a full frame for fraction of the cost. I love the fast focus for burst shots. Highly recommended.

Almost perfect
If you're looking for a mirrorless camera you've probably already read about the a6000. If you haven't, go to dpreview.com and read their excellent review. I will just add a couple of things that caused me to give the a6000 4 stars instead of 5. These are things that most users wouldn't care that much about, so take my criticisms with how many ever grains of salt you deem appropriate. I'm disappointed that Sony didn't provide a silent shutter opt... Show More

Excellent Camera
I am an amateur in photography and I just love this camera. It is easy to learn and it gives amazing picture quality. I used DSLR before and this one is much lighter than DSLR cameras. It doesn't give you a neck pain if you walk around with this. I haven't tried a zoom lens though, that might add some weight to it, but I think still it is manageable. Kit lens is good but its not so impressive. You can take excellent pictures using prime lenses(ch... Show More

No Buyers' Remorse
I am very pleased with the Sony A6000. There are a few nits. When you want to view a taken picture, the Sony A6000 is not conventional. On most other cameras, you use the zoom control on the camera to zoom in or out the size of the picture to be viewed. Zoom control on the A6000 is on the lens. Thus changing the size of a view is an extra step on the Sony via the menu system. The SD chip is located very close to the body. Removing the SD chip req... Show More

Great Compact Camera, Mediocre Software
I like to take my cameras out and bring them wherever I go. This is why I stuck to compact point and shoots, my phone, and my GoPro for so long. I wanted a more control and higher quality pictures than what those cameras could get me. I have experience with older film SLRs and a few Canon DSLRs that my friends would let me borrow from time to time, but with their size and weight along with heavy lenses would make it difficult to carry around all ... Fast focus and wonderful picture quality
I was ready to step-up from my Sony RX100 but found it difficult to decide. I've been happy with Sony but could not make the leap to my dream A7S because of it's high price that would still come with compromises. Is there one camera to rule them all? Well, my primary purpose is shots of my kid along with some vacation landscape etc. so it must be quick (get just the right moment) and it must be rich/sharp. The Sony a6000 meets all my expectations... Show More

Extraordinary
When I first decided to buy a mirrorless camera I was zeroing in on one of Sony's full frame A7 models. In researching that model, I learned more about the a6000 and the amazing reviews convinced me to make the purchase. The reviews sounded a bit too good to be true. When I received the camera, the camera was so small and light that I still felt a bit insecure about my purchase. I kept thinking 'what's the catch?'. I've had the a6000 for a few we... Show More
