I replaced the HDD of my 2011 Dell Studio XPS (i7) with this SSD as the boot drive. I just cant believe how fast the computer has become. Im so glad I did not buy a new computer.

Samsung seems has the best value in terms of price/reliability/performance. Its like a Toyota except I could care less if it looks boring or drives boring. Nuff said.

Huge improvement over old driv
Being used to hold main user account in external USB 3.0 enclosure on new i3 Mac Mini. This is my first system with all SSD drives and I love how its completely silent even when doing video encoding. I have a 500GB 860 EVO connected the same way for my Windows Users under Bootcamp.

Nice but be forewarned...
I was really excited to get my hands on this SSD but my MB is an older one with max SATA2. So while I will enjoy a modest increase in speed I cant take advantage of the full bandwidth of a SATA 3 connection. I also cant test it with the boot because my primary has over 1tb of important data which cant easily be moved and 2tb SSDs are way out of my price range now (waiting for $150 or better). Surprisingly Fast SSD
I upgraded from a Crucial 250GB SSD to this 500GB Samsung SSD. I immediately noticed that this SSD was faster when opening programs and accessing files on my Windows 7, Intel i5 computer. I used Macrium Reflect to Clone the drive since I had it on my PC. Did not use the Samsung Magician software they suggest. B&H pricing was competitive and I love the 3-day free shipping to my home.

Best SSD for your money, period
Absolutely the best deal from a cost per GB metric for SSDs, can always depend on samsung quality and of course the wicked fast speeds that SSDs bring. This drive works great as an OS boot drive as well as for your more intensive programs like photoshop!

Good overall, but not as fast as Id expected.
The biggest benefit was to make my computer virtually dead silent. Operations like boot up seem a little faster than with a hard drive, but this is really only noticeable with a stop watch.

turn slow notebook into like new speedster
old 5200 rpm hd was taking almost 2 minutes to boot up to login screen. now bootup is 30 seconds. internet is faster too. best investment I could have made for my HP Pavilian DV6 i7.

finally ssd becoming way more affordable than a few years ago, speedy near the limits of SATA III and rated as one of the best you can afford, Samsung 860 EVO outdone its competitors. With its tough TBW and 5 years warranty, it can endure massive writes with precision and speed. would buy again if it gets even cheaper.

Just as you would expect - great product, great price
Purchased this to improve the performance of an older laptop. Used EaseUS Todo Backup tool to clone old drive to SSD. Worked easily and perfectly. Once clone was complete, swapped drives and good to go! Samsung is a great product and bhphotovideo had the best price. I have purchased other items before from bhphotovideo, and i have always been satisfied.

Impressive!
I bought this to rejuvenate an old (2012) HP tower. I replaced the old 1 TB drive after moving much of the data to an external HDD. Samsungs website was awful! I was never able to download the recommended Magician software from that site. I cloned my boot drive and booted up without incident. The boot sequence is now much faster. Installed with no problems, very fast SSD drive
I installed the 860 Evo 2TB drive in my Dell XPS 8900 with no problems using a Pearstone 2.5 to 3.5 adapter (also purchased from B&H). I used Samsungs data migration software to clone my old HD to the 860 Evo, which I plugged into a USB port via a Sabrent 2.5 USB 3.0 enclosure. I then swapped out my old HD using the same cables inside my computer. I fired it up and it booted successfully. What a difference from my old HD -- Windows 10 boots up in 20-30 seconds and my programs load in a blink. Very happy.

Fast
This is my first time using an SSD and wow the difference is incredible. Starting the computer went from usually more than a minute to seconds. This is a must buy for the price, speed and quality.

Hard to Beat This
Great performance for a low price. I purchased several. Formerly, I bought the Samsung Pro series, but with current the price gap, the Pro is hard to justify.
