Good features but disappointing viewfinder
I was seeking a good quality compact camera with a viewfinder - a very hard thing to find. I paid more for this camera in order to get that combination. While I find it is a good quality compact, I am very disappointed with the quality of the viewfinder. The image is very dark, and very small. In strong light conditions - the time a viewfinder is most needed - it is barely usable. Nobody seems to make optical viewfinders anymore; digital seems th... Show More

Great camera
This is our 2nd Lumix. We loved the 1st one but after 10 years and a few too many drops it wasn't working as well. This version has improved and love the wifi and movie options.

Point and Shoot Lumix
This camera lives up to its reviews. Picture quality is fantastic for a point and shoot... but it will not beat a good DSLR. The one thing I found that was a surprise is it's video capability. It produces great videos in all levels of light. Easy to use. I am sure there are options I have not explored because of my use of the DSLR... but I have found I use it... my wife whose is ot a camera user has taken some awesome photos.

Excellent camera
Overall I am very pleased with this camera. The quality of its stills and videos is excellent. I bought it for its zoom capability, which is as good as I expected. Its instructions are not the easiest to understand and its controls take some getting used to. It would be nice if the screen would flip up so that I could see myself when taking a selfie.

Both the best and worst in one camera!
The Lumix SZ-100 is probably the best camera on the market today to carry on a vacation. A 25-250 zoom with a 1 processor that fits in a small belt case is phenomenal, and no competitor competes, yet. It also is the most complex camera to control unless you use it every day or so. I print and bind the manuals and it is over 400 pages because of everything this camera can do. My Olympus OMD is just over 200 pages. But even with the manual, I have ... Show More

Great camera.....best bang for the buck
I have Nikon lenses and D810 / D750 cameras, but they are not always easy to carry in some special circumstances. I have a Sony 'point and shoot' for which I have purchased an eyepiece to make it workable outside, but it allows so few adjustments, it is frustrating to use. Enter the Lumix which is nearly as flexible as our big Nikons, has a built in eyepiece, and is so small that you can take it lots of places with little effort. Pictures are sha... Show More

Great Alternative to Nikon 200 - plus does video
Just a great alternative to my Nikon 200 which is just to heavy for a travel camera when in today's world one does not want to bring on a lot of attention to being a tourist. I would love it if B and H offered a workshop on its many features. Technology has gotten so complicated, it is a full time job figuring out how to get the most use of this items.

Great high-tech pocketable camera with 10-power lens.
The ZS100 has a form factor very like the LX100 (which I also have), but the cameras are very different. The ZS100 sacrifices sensor size (1) and speed of lens (2.8-5.6) in order to support a 10-power lens (25-250 35mm equivalent). The LX100 has a 4/3's sensor and a truly phenomenal 1.7-2.8 lens, but ranges only from 25 to 75 mm (equivalent). I'm using the ZS100 for travel, and it is perfect for that, as it is pocketable. The lens on the LX100 pr... Show More

Great for travel!
Nice travel camera! Great zoom and small enough to fit in a small purse. The one thing that would make it better is having the screen flip to take selfies. Hope to see that in future models

Not user friendly, poor WiFi connectivity
I bought this camera as an everyday use camera for my wife (not a professional photographer). The camera does take good pictures, but it is too complicated for simple point and shoot use. The camera is well built and is very compact, which leads to another problem - the buttons on the back are too small and can be easily inadvertently activated. On a recent trip to D.C., the camera was accidentally put into 4K photo mode via one of the function b... Show More

DMC-ZS100 failed test with semi-pro photographer
Real disappointment. Do not use in dusty or desert areas because dust can get inside the lens and can not be removed. Panasonic needs to seal their lens better to keep out the dust!!!! Special coating on exterior lens surface started wearing off in a couple of cleanings. Other than that, good picture quality!

My 5th Lumix and the most sophisticated so far.
This camera is nice middle ground between a up-scale point-and-shoot and a fixed-lens mega-zoom. It is definitely right-sized for travel. Love the camera so far and will give it serious trial in the next three weeks of travel. The view finder is on the far edge of usefulness due to small size, but better than none. I wish ZS100 had a plug-in port for a cabled remote shutter release for times when a smart phone is either not available or inappropr... Show More

Good Compact with Advanced Feature
I primarily bought this as a back up to my Full Frame and Cropped sensor DSLRs and also for the places where carrying DSLRs is not practical or advisable such as the street photography. I have so far used it a few times since I bought and quite happy. I wanted something with bigger sensor (1 inch) and good amount of Optical zoom. I also then needed Compact that I can shoot in full manual mode and shoot RAW if I wish to. Finally I needed a camera ... Show More

Disappointed - received used product
Purchased this brand new, however received a product that was clear it had been used. Customer service responded promptly to complaint and were happy to exchange or refund, however that would mean losing out on shipping expenses. In the end I did get a minimal reduction on price, which should have been more than I received. Product good. Connecting via wifi to transport images quite inconvenient as need to enter password each time.

Great little camera.
Great camera for everyday use If you don't want to carry your DSLR. Picture quality is good. Tons of effects to play with. I'm happy with this purchase.

wonderful camera
This is quite a piece of equipment and performs well. But spend some time with the manual that comes in the box and also the detailed manual on line. Lots of features - some useful some not so much - so it's worth the time to learn the mechanics. It's not too complex but this is not a Brownie Hawkeye! Very pleased so far.

This camera does way too much
Lots to learn about the features but the quality of the pictures is amazing. High ISO still produces terrific pictures with no noise. Looking forward to learning how to fully experience the camera.

Fantastic small camera
I own several DSLRs and mirrorless cameras which are fine but a hassle to carry around. So when I decided to look for a small, pocketable camera with good image quality (1 sensor size) and large zoom range, I was first attracted to the Sony RX-100iv, but I am not a video user to justify the high price. So when I discovered the Nikon DL24-85, I placed an order but quickly cancelled it when I found out that the release date was pushed out indefinit... Show More

Great camera in a small package.
I purchased this camera as a gift for my wife, who is primarily interested in scenic and family-oriented photography. That being said, I was also considering some of the smaller Leica digital units as I use Leica and have post-processing softwares, etc., that are somewhat optimized for that brand. Bottom line: this is a great little camera. I have used it on several occasions and, apart from the small buttons and less than in-depth documentation,... Show More

Abysmal Service
The zoom on this camera seized up on the second day of a European vacation and the camera could not be used for the rest of the trip. I sent it to Panasonic Service on June 27 and have still, October 27, not received it back. They initally ordered the wrong part, then finally they shipped it twice to the wrong address and now they've shipped it and it's disappeared into the USPS. Panasonic have been extremely unhelpful and have given me an unrele... Show More

Jacketable Camera balances Image Quality with 10x Zoom
This camera is just a little too large to fit into your jeans pockets, but can fit into a small carry case you can wear on your belt - making it that camera that is always with you. It works well for closeup - and the zoom range produces good landscapes, portraits, and head shots. While it has an electric view finder, I find that I use the touch screen to set the focus point. It produces both JPEG and RAW files so you can do editing afterwards. This is a perfect travel camera.

Very, very pleased!!
I'm very, very pleased with the image resolution, color, and functionality of this 1-sensor Panasonic camera. I bought it for travel because dpreview.com recently rated it as the best travel camera. I had previously only owned Canon cameras (many of them). Panasonic does not provide any software but the camera is very good and will fit into my shirt pocket. I use travel shirts with velcro-closure pockets. I don't like the wrist strap that came wi... Show More

Great camera with a few drawbacks
The Lumix DMC-ZS100 is an amazing camera in many respects. Having RAW capability in a pocket camera is the first. A great lens in a pocket-size package is another. 4K resolution. There are so many features that run the gamut, it truly makes your head spin. There are a few drawbacks I've noticed after the first 2 weeks of ownership, however. The ability to focus in some situations is limited, such as telephoto shots in dark areas. Also, focusing a... Show More
