No Better Camera For The Price
I've shot Nikon D7100 and Canon 5D mk II for years. I still have them and love them both but I've never had so much fun with any camera as with the G85. I just took it to Italy for two weeks and found it to be an incredible travel workhorse. Buy the 7Artisans 7.5.

Best video camera for the money.
Especially now that it is on sale with a 45-150 added to the package. The 12-60 is a great lens with the exception of it's speed. With unlimited(only by storage) video time. I use this for lectures and presentations that last more than 30 minutes. It is a pain in the a** to have to stop and restart a camera just because the record limit has been reached. . I used the G85 with a G7 as second camera, but I have just got another G85. It is also an excellent still camera.

My Panasonic DMC-G85MK is Fantastic
People complain about the auto focus, but all you have to do is set it to face detection and adjust the sensitivity and done! The image is lovely, the video options are broad. People say the image is cold; however, there are a number of choices such as standard, vivid, etc, etc, to give you the warmth you need, or anything else. So silly. AND, for real camera people, we know this and also have post-editing for further options so it's not even an ... Show More

The best G85 package deal I had found.
I was shopping for a G85 to replace my beloved GH3. There were a plethora of package deals but this one actually comes with useful excellent gear. The zoom lens is fantastic for shooting live theatrical and music performances. The bag is solid and so is the card and battery. The G85 is a big step up from the GH3. All my old lenses work on it and vice versa. Only downside is the lack of a headphones out but there are work arounds for that like using an external monitor.

Pan G85 review
Review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 Mirrorless Micro 4/3 camera kit with 12mm to 60mm kit lense. I had been debating whether I should purchase a 4/3 camera for quite a while. I have been using Nikon DSLR cameras for some time, and have several lenses for these cameras. I shoot Landscapes, nature, portraits and some macros, so I am not replacing DSLR with 4/3. I compared the Lumix DMC-G85 with the Olympus OMD EM5 mark 2 and others on price and s... Show More

Powerful Little Camera
I am surprised! The quality video coming from this camera is really good. It is also well build. It is small, so you can go incognito and pass as a tourist or an amateur. Besides the frame rate limitations for the price, what else you can expect? The only thing I would have make this camera a perfect deal, is a headphone jack.

Amazing!
I was a little hesitant going the micro four thirds route because of the smaller sensor, but I'm so glad I did. This thing is amazing! The kit lens is great. Super sharp and the zoom feature is nice. I also bought the 25mm f1.7 lens and that thing is an awesome prime. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this camera again. Video stabalization is great. Size and portability are awesome.. and one of the best underrated features is the mobile app for monitori... Show More

Great sub $700 setup for product photos and video capture
I am not a photographer nor a videographer but I sell woodturning tool products on an e-commerce site and I needed a new setup to capture product photos and to shoot video for marketing on YouTube. After some research I found that the G85 met all of my needs. Since I will be shooting video in a wood shop I really liked that the body and kit lens are weather and dust sealed. There are plenty of options and settings for me to learn. However, I am g... Show More

Absolutely the Best for the Price
Let me start, I am a Semi-Pro Photographer for more than 40 years. My current primary camera body is the Lumix G9. I was looking for a second backup body to replace by GX8 which I sold about 6 months ago (although another great camera, a little odd to handle with some larger lenses). I was holding off for the G95 but then the G85 was being offered with the same 12-60 Lens for $500 less when the G95 became available. Money is typically not an iss... Show More

Disappointing support
I really like the camera, one menu ISO scroll button feel sticky and clicky which is needed to change any menu setting. G85 does not have a menu scroll wheel but instead buttons. Feels defective, Panasonic support blew me off. If you need quick servicing you may be dissapointed. This is my last Panasonic.

I hope its not a sign of things to come
This camera is awesome. Ive purchased two other lenses and a dozen other peripherals, and am getting some wonderful photos and video. Ive actually had people ask me what kind of camera Im using to get such nice images. Ergonomically, I have a neoprene wrist strap and can carry this thing around all day. The grip is comfortable and the body is lightweight. There are a few shortcomings in the video department that I was aware of when I purchased th... Show More

Size and performance excellent
Moved from APC Canon and lenses to the LUMIX DMC-G85 with the 12-60mm kit lens about two weeks ago. Performance thus far is excellent giving sharp, vivid, photos equal to the larger APC format. Loved the Canon, but wanted something lighter & more portable. Like others, I have found the 12-60mm a quality, all around, lens. I do have one complaint which may cover all Panasonic cameras - there is no direct support for the Mac platform, requiring rem... Show More

Good camera but made wrong choice
Ordered camera and got A1 service on it, but after using it a little I think the G9 would have been a better choice for me, oh well sometimes things go like that. Guess I will have to sell, at a loss to get what I needed. Thanks

The Lumix G85 is an amazing camera for the price. Very high quality photos and video. Less obtrusive than other cameras. A good pick for indy filmmakers.

Excellent Camera
While all these new cameras getting introduced still need all the glitches to be worked out, most of the others have already been run thru the wringer of scrutiny and are now getting some discounts, making them a lot easier to choose, especially with the skyrocketing costs of the latest and greatest. Im hardly an expert but couldnt afford pro equipment anyway, so Ill just stay with those I can afford, and particularly those with a popular followi... Show More

Highly impressed
I have had my G85 for a few months and have been on a vacation where it has seen quite a bit of use. I am impressed with the image quality over my older GX-1 that has the same sized sensor. The newer sensor is significantly better in all ways. Pros: - Color is more accurate - Perfect ergonomics for me. I have small hands so the grip and buttons fall into the right place. - Dynamic range is wider by around 2 more stops - High ISO is much clean... Show More

Balance and Sufficiency
For me the Panasonic G85 is about balance and sufficiency. It has traditional DSLR handling, suitably downsized in the M4/3 system for less bulk and weight, yet retaining comfortable button and dial ergonomics. The touch screen is a big plus but I keep it mostly folded for protection after having customized the menus for my preferred shooting style with the camera centered at eye level. The uncannily silent shutter took some getting used to at fi... Show More

Perfect Camera For Vlogging!
I read all the reviews and all the griping about autofocus but with the correct lens and the correct settings it just really isn't an issue for me! This camera is very lite and perfect for vlogging. I have it mounted on a gorillapod with a 12mm f/1.4 Panasonic Leica lens with a Movo mic and it's the perfect setup for me! The settings are laid out well and very easy to get to for on the fly changes. Great video and the battery life is actually really awesome. Don't hesitate to get this camera for video!

Beautiful Camera, Amazing for its price
I've had this camera for over 3 weeks now, and I've loves it more every day. The vast amount of possibilities this camera holds is spectacular, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I heard some skeptical reviews of the carrying bag included with the purchase of this camera, but I personally like it. It's simple and small, and has a decent material. It gets the job done, and it saves you the extra money of buying another one. Overall, one of the best purchases I've ever made!

Great Camera, Great Lens, Okay Accessory Kit
The Panasonic Lumic DMC-G85 is a fantastic camera for vlogging, film making, and photography. I use it mostly for shooting video, but it takes a good photo, as well. Since it has a smaller sensor than other cameras, I wouldn't necessarily go to this one if you are strictly a photographer-unless you already have better and just want something more portable and rugged. There's so much I love about this camera, though. The kit lens is fan... Show More
