Somthings Fishey here!

Jan 1, 2015

8mm Fisheye for omd 4/3 is a real blast! It makes the camera a real coat pocket fit! And---it really doesn't do a bad job in the quality dept! It's not like a F2 prime lens,(at 4-500 dollars, but a fun little walk-around addition to the pen & omd system. You hardly know that its on the camera...

With me all the time

Dec 17, 2014

Micro 4/3 to me is about mobility , small and light. While I have the Samyang fisheye, I always leave it home. The body cap takes up no room and stays in my waist pouch. Optically, I find it amazingly sharp and contrasty, especially considering the low price.

Excellent supplement for a low price

Excellent and amazing supplement for a low price This is a great supplement to my Panasonic micro 4/3 camera. It was really a surprise to me and it was beyond my expectations. Now I can get funny outdoor shots. It is a very cleverly designed gadget.

It is fun and sometimes useful.

Oct 1, 2014

I never use a bodycap and have no real need for a fisheye lens but for $ it was worth it. I was pleasantly surprised to find the lens is relatively sharp and I have gotten interesting pictures from it. My only disappointment there was no lens case, it came with a bubble wrap bag that would be more appropriate for a sandwich. I recently purchased for s$ a polarizing filter and include with it was a Cardura pouch which makes me think that Olympus has little respect for this product.

9mm f/8.0 Fisheye Body Cap Lens

Point and shoot simplicity, pancake style lens; compact and only 1.1 oz. Used on a Panasonic LUMIX GF3, as an addition to any system I Have. The lens is not quite a full frame fish-eye (140 degree field vs. 180) and far less expensive and lighter! This lens gives me the ability to carry a small lightweight package with an ultra-wide view, greater than the standard 24-28mm equivalent wide angle kit lens. Great Addition

Sep 3, 2014

This is a great addition to my compact travel outfit that consists of a Panasonic micro 4/3 camera, a Panasonic 14-45mm lens and a Sigma 30mm lens. All this fits neatly in a very small bag yet the gives me great flexibility and image quality. Less is really more. The Olympus 9mm Lens Cap lens is really unique and quite useful. Initially, I thought that I would use it only for the rare super wide occasion but I found I use it as much or more than ... Show More

Pretty good a little lens

Aug 20, 2014

We took it (on a Panasonic GX1 ) to Chicago for three days and liked it a lot. Sometimes the focus could be an issue, because of the manual focus only. Other than that a good lens to have.

Sharpness is better than I expected and CA really not bad. Very limited focusing not a problem with the huge depth of field. Tiny size makes a RF style body truly pocketable.

Fun Lens

Jul 30, 2014

I shoot primarily landscape but have never used anything wider than a 12mm. I have seen reviews including the photos taken with this lens and I thought I would give it a try. There were no surprises when the lens arrived, it made of durable plastic and by all means, a manual lens. It did nto take long to figure out the various settings- closed, Infinity, hyper-focal and 2M setting. This is not a lens you buy for the technical reasons- sharpness, c... Show More

Amazing value for money

Jul 1, 2014

Admittedly not going in with high expectations, this very inexpensive body cap that doubles as a lens surprises with very decent quality pictures. If you are a micro-4/3 owner then you already know that high quality wide-angle glass is very expensive in this format, and because of the cropping factor getting ultra-wide is not easy. However, if you are willing to sacrifice some quality, and wish to save a ton of money, this lens will fit the bill.... Show More

Simple, small and good enough

Jun 29, 2014

For the price, this is a gem. It's small enough to fit in your pocket, gives reasonably sharp pictures and good wide angle views. When I'm going light I often throw this in my pocket, just to have along. Ok, it's distorted like crazy, what do you expect its a fisheye, the're supposed to be that way. Most of the time the f8 isn't a problem, I use it on an E-M1 so using it in even fairly dark spaces is possible.

Surprisingly Sharp

Jun 24, 2014

I have a Nikon 16mm full frame fisheye that is razor sharp and very useful for extreme perspectives so I thought if I could get something approaching that optical quality in a very inexpensive package and make my GM1 truly pocketable at the same time I'd be delighted. I'm truly delighted. Optically the lens is not quite as sharp as the Nikon but very close and indistinguishable up to 16X21.3 print size, which is about my limit for the GM1. On my ... Show More

This changed my E-M5 to snap camera.

Jun 1, 2014

I was expected for this fisheye lens as ultra wide angle image. Actually, this is giving me good enough image as expected. Not only that, I am happy about the very slim size. This makes my E-M5 as real compact camera for snap shots. By leaving other lenses and accessories at home, I go out for snap shots with fresh angle.

Capable and Fun Lens

May 25, 2014

I am using the Olympus 9mm f/8.0 Fisheye Body Cap Lens on the EM-10 and am very pleased with the images it produces. It is a well-made lens that is easy to use. The 140 degree angle of view is terrific for capturing a broad landscape as well as an interesting street scene. The lens is also fun to use when taking video and produces some very interesting and unique views. For the price of this lens, it is a great addition to the already wonderful Olympus lineup of MFT lenses. Highly recommended. You won't want to take it off your camera. Great for Panasonic MFT cameras as well.

Cheap price by practical and effective

May 22, 2014

For $1*, you can't expect the world, but this 9mm lens offers a great body cap that can actually serve as a nice goto lens. I like to use this with a strong flash at weddings. Get close and the f8 doesn't bother me.Focus can be tricky, but learn how far you need to be from your subject for the two/three focal settings it offers.

This is a fantastic little piece of gear! I was so excited when I got it and the excitement has continued since. The quality is impressive considering the price. It's very easy to use and light as a feather. I use this with my Blackmagic Pocket and I have it on there most of the time making it a powerful point-and-shoot video camera, sort of speak. What a fun lens!

May 20, 2014

This is a very fun lens to always carry in your bag. It will not give you the sharpest or greatest results, but come on guys, its a bodycap lens and you can't beat it for the price. I love fisheyes, maybe because i grew up on watching skateboarding videos. Although you cant compare it to better built and quality lenses, it DOES produces pretty good pictures. I love it.

Affordable ultrawide

Apr 4, 2014

I bought this lens to use on my Lumix and Olympus micro 4/3 cameras. Most of my equipment is Nikon, so I didn't want to put a lot of money into another system of lenses. I suppose it's considered a fisheye lens because it is not rectilinear. It covers 140 degrees, not the 180 of most fisheyes. I actually find this lens to be more useful for all-around shooting than a true fisheye, and if you're careful with your composition, you can shoot relativ... Show More

Great Little Lens

Apr 3, 2014

I'm really glad I got this. The image quality is surprisingly good. I often wouldn't bring my other fisheye lens when I left the house because I didn't think I would use it enough to warrant the bulk of an extra lens. But this body cap lens is so tiny there's no excuse for not keeping it in my bag. Its a manual focus lens, but the depth of field is so large on it due to its wide focal length and large aperture, that it is very easy to focus.

Great lens for the price

Mar 29, 2014

First, if you are expecting something close to the Panasonic 8mm f/3.5 fish-eye this is NOT the lens for you. No AF, no aperture control. But this is a FUN lens. For the price this lens is great. No, not a PRO lens by any means but its not designed to be. The quality was better than I expected for the price and with adjustment the result can be acceptable. But the optical characteristics of inexpensive lens should not be covered up, embraces it. Use it as it was meant to be used and you will surprise yourself.

It's a great walking around, street, casual lens for the purpose...I have a G1X with a few lenses and both of the body caps now. It's equal to my 18 on my Nikon, but with a ton of barrel distortion, and it's not as wide as my 7.5mm Rokinon, or as fast, or as sharp, etc...but it's super slim and it is sharper then the 15mm body cap lens, it's actually decent in the middle.
