Best Trackball Mouse Ever

Mar 2, 2011

I used one at work and had to get one for home. It is easy to operate, trackball is very responsive and smooth. Ring around the trackball that lets you scroll up and down works great (feels cheap but works great)... I set it for small increments and it makes for a very smooth scroll. This trackball keeps you from gripping something too small for your hand... helps you be safer ergonomically. Try it, you'll love it. I use this instead of many types of mice and instead of the track pad built into my laptop.

B&H came through for me......

Jan 19, 2011

I'm across the border in Toronto, Canada and I use a trackball almost exclusively. With my current model starting to drag a bit - which means jerky motion and no good for graphics - I did my research and found B&H with a very good price.I ordered the Kensington Expert Pro Trackball, ...Well done, B&H, you are a winner, you have my attention, and you are on my A-list. I would definitely order from you again - after doing my (mandatory) price resea... Show More

A great tool for video editing!

Jan 12, 2011

That trackball is great! Fully customizable so I can put my keyboard shortcuts right on the trackball. Plus its great when working with 2 screens cause you can go from one end of the screen to the other with just a flick of the fingers, no wrist movement. That makes it real easy on the tendons. I'd recomend it the anyone working long hour on the computer. I learned a little trick to get even more spin out of the ball: rub a little pledge on it.

OK but watch for W7 issues

Works well, took a while to break in the trackball. I propped the wrist rest on a thin book to get a good angle. Works well in CAD. The scroll ring is cheap feeling, but works well (this was no surprise from other reviews). The software (trackball works) is OK, but does not have alot of programmability. Accelleration does not include detailed control. The software worked fine on one windows 7 64 bit machine, but on a windows 7 64 bit laptop it cr... Show More

What a Dream

It is better than the track ball that only caters to your thumb. All fingers get involved to take the pressure off your thumb. You can press a keyboard button which will slow down the pointer movement if you need to be more accurate - Big plus. I love it & I'm getting another one for work. It's worth every penny if you are on the computer a lot.

Great for reducing repetitive stress

Dec 19, 2010

This product -- especially when combined with a split ergonomic keyboard -- helps to reduce stress on your wrists. Clutching the mouse puts a lot of stress on the muscles in your forearm. But you roll this big trackball with your open hand. Instead of clutching the mouse button, you can simply tap one of the big programmable buttons with your thumb, and the mouse locks and drags until you tap the button again, when it releases. The scroll wheel i... Show More

Where did it go?

Dec 2, 2010

It's a nice trackball, BUT... I have a 12-year-old Expert mouse that finally gave it last. I loved it, especially the feature that let me pop up a keystroke menu. New one is similar, with a scroll ring added, but my beloved keystroke menu is no longer in the software. Without that, it isn't worth the price.

Best Pointing Device I've Used

Jun 10, 2010

This is the third Kensington trackball I've owned over the last 13 or so years. The first was the old ADB Turbo Mouse 4 and the second was this exact same trackball. Both the Turbo Mouse and my first Expert Mouse died from trouble with the junction between the cord and trackball body. That being said, I am a little rough with my pointing devices, and it's no wonder that the wires would eventually pull from the body enough to cause the internal co... Show More

Best Track ball on the market

Jun 9, 2010

I've used Kensington track balls since we bought our first home computer in the mid 1980's. When our most recent trackball failed after more than five years of daily use, there was no question what we would buy to replace it. I have tried thumb balls and regular mice, but will always come back to Kensington, especially the Expert Pro. You feel so much in control, can change settings to each users preferences, and the newer optical model is extremely smooth.

Top quality trackball

May 25, 2010

The Kensington Expert Pro (Mouse) Trackball (model #K64325) is well designed, well made and offers the features needed for a high productivity workstation system. The sensitivity to trackball motion is at a level well suited to general workstation pointing needs. The ball glides easily in its socket and can be tipped out for cleaning out the inevitable dust accumulation. The four buttons provide more that what is needed for the expected multi-but... Mediocre offering

Apr 23, 2010

The optical track ball is smooth and precise. Unfortunately, the case feels cheap, especially the buttons and scroll ring. There is currently no MouseWorks for Vista or Windows 7, where you're limited to the system Mouse control panel, which offers basic customization, but effectively reduces it to a two button mouse (with 3 left click buttons and only 1 right click). It works better with Macs (tested w/ 10.4 and 10.6), where MouseWorks offers total customization (though with 10.6, there's a bug where you have to 'restart' the System Preferences panel before you can open MouseWorks).

Love the Kensington Expert Mouse

Apr 14, 2010

I've used the Kensington Expert Mouse for years now and won't do without it. I recently bought a new iMac with the new Magic Mouse. I did like the scrolling ability of the Magic Mouse but after a week I broke down and bought another Kensington Expert Mouse. It has much more accuracy and stability than the Magic Mouse. Plus, the trackball is easier on my hands and wrist than a traditional mouse. I'm on the computer all day and do everything i can ... Show More

Pleasantly Surprised

Apr 14, 2010

I bought this trackball out of necessity because my older Kensington died. That was a Kensington Expert Pro Mouse with six additional DirectLaunch buttons. I really thought I'd miss the DirectLaunch buttons but that hasn't been the case. Right out of the box the roller ball didn't move smoothly and I thought Oh great, I got a dud. I figured I'd use it a bit and see how it went. After a half hour of doing so it freed up and has been fine since. Th... Show More

This is the 2nd time I've bought this mouse. The first time I got it and the buttons were all wonky, it didn't work with Vista 64. After finding proper software, I purchased this mouse again, and was able to reprogram the buttons to work with Vista. Yay! (the software is called X-Mouse Button Control and is available for free download.)

I love this mouse. Will not go back. It is easier on my wrist, has a small footprint compared to my mouse pad. I have dual screens and tracking across both of them is a breeze. It is a bit expensive, but worth the price. I used it for development and a get a lot of calls from our web department and graphic artists for it.

This trackball is great. I personally got it to increase speed and efficiency in Protools. The programable buttons are useful, and the smoothness of the trackball and scroll wheel make navigating a breeze, without having to move your hand. It is also great for small spaces that do not afford a mousepad to move a mouse around.
