Big Sound
I plugged in to a variety of components even some some from last century and the sound came through loud and clear especially when I cranked it up. Very nice bass. Nice and light and did't crowd my ears.

Awesome Headphones
I've tried some brands like Sennheiser, Bang & Olufsen, Beats and these Grados are excellent. Just as good if not better than these brands and amazing value for the price. If you're a Beats fan, not sure if these are for you as it is not as Bass heavy as Beats. Clear and balanced like Sennheiser and Bang & Olufsen. BH photo video is an amazing store. Excellent service, vast selection, prices are good.

Nicely in your face headphones!
My first Grado headphone & am glad I got them. Had read many reviews of Grado headphones before deciding to buy. Build quality is unique & surprising. First look out of the box was disappointing as it looked fragile. But these are well made & fit good. Now the sound review. Bass is very good, decent snap & clean thump. Mids are excellent, clear, loud, in your face, in a nice way. Highs are very good, crisp cymbal sounds. Vocals are great on this ... Show More

Love these Grados.
Comfortable fit and great sound from these bad boys. Ears get to breathe thanks to the open design. An essential bit of kit.

Amazing sound at a great price
Coming from a pair of Denon HP700 DJ headphones, these provided equal if not better sound quality (albeit not as much bass) while being much more lightweight and comfortable.Build quality: These things don't have the highest build quality that I've seen on headphones. Most of the components are plastic but feel very well made. You can tell that most of the effort went into the drivers, and the rest of the headphone is the bare minimum to get the ... Show More

Nice sou d, nice price
I rarely use headphones, but wanted a pair for studying Spanish via a CD course. I also wanted to use them with my iPad for occasionally listening to videos without disturbing others. My main concern is good full-spectrum fidelity and comfort.PLUS: Excellent sound -- so good I may start using them for listening to music more often. Good transparency -- I can hear other sounds around me, but they are not intrusice.SO-SO: Headband a little tight (I wear the phones over glasses and hearing aids). Platic covering on headband is kind of chintzy, seems flimsy.

A good buy
I use these headphones to listen to my iPod. Even though the audio on an iPod isn't that great, I can hear things in the music I didn't notice before and some of this stuff I've been listening to since the 70s. I haven't used them on my regular stereo but am looking forward to that when I can get a chance to relax and pay attention to the music. The open air design allows one to hear 'outside' sounds but when I use the headphones I am able to tun... Show More

Grado Prestige SR80e Headphones
My purchase of these headphones was greatly influenced by Consumer Reports * rating (86/100) of the Grado Prestige SR80i headphones now discontinued by the manufacturer. These SR80e are the best sounding headphones I have ever owned! They offer exceptional value for the price ($99)! I use them primarily to listen to my music library on iTunes or to my music cds. I presently own an apple iPhone 5s smartphone. I have an apple macbook pro; a yamaha ... Show More
