Best under $300 cardoid mic available
It was time to replace my aging Sony ECM44s and ECM55's. I compared specs - tried out a few at NAB last year, and settled on thes EV RE-92 as their replacements. Smooth sound, low noise and rugged construction make these a top pick. The only drawback is the size of the mic capsule - just a bit larger than I'd like.

Slick, reliable and rugged construction.
I exposed my equipment to extremes uses. I'm an field production videgrapher and my equipment has to keep-up with me. This small mic gives me true sound regardless of the ambiance. No cons found.

Small, slick and very reliable
