Excellent camera for the price
I purchased this camera for the sole purpose to document cultural events. I'm so impressed by it that I'm considering buying another to have two teams. I have recorded 5 events and they all came out with beautiful colors and quality. The only set back is the small viewfinder, but it's not an issue with us because we don't used it at all.

Good Camera
Very good for general use I shoot events , I find it difficult at times to white balance , it is poor in low light. On a few occasions it sufferered a buffer overflow and stopped recording to card, not sure to blame card or camera, Suppose its a very cheap model and it is good value for money

Wow - Exceeded my expectations!
I bought 2 of these to go along with an AX33 I already had so I could get consistent colors and quality. This weekend I was on 11 different outdoor, and some indoor, locations from 7 am to 9:30 pm (EST) One NX100 was on a tripod, the other on a Shape shoulder rig with a shotgun mic and the AX33 was on a jib. Amazing At This Price
I know most will say if it isn't 4K then why bother. Realistically, many clients still opt for DVD and some for Blu Ray, so although 4K is a great acquisition format, for smaller budget jobs and ENG use, 2K is more than good enough. Keep in mind the price level of this cam is on par with Sony's own top of the line consumer cam. Surpassed my expectation.
I purchased two of these cameras based on the reviews and must say that I am in no way disappointed as they exceeded my expectation. Images were sharp and vibrant & they performed well in low light situations. Still learning all the features of the camera, but am very pleased so far.

I have been using sony camcorders since 2004 and this is a good camera for the price! I use it for weddings and special events, the image is clear even with low light, I like the size and weight, it's not heavy but kind of heavier in the front. The built in mic works fine.

I use this camera for mainly sports and I've always liked the way Sony camera work with features that make things easy to use. The only couple of features that I don't like is the position of the hot shoe in reference to the rest of the weight of the camera. It's front heavy. I recently picked up this camcorder based on other reviews I've read for a number of reasons. Video professional since the old days of 21lb shoulder mounts. This unit has everything anyone would want at a great price. One well kept secret is that the Image Stabilization system is NOT overriding. No floaty seasick look. Finally! The lens has enough zoom for any normal shot. Wish it was just a bit wider. Big deal. A new Paradigm
Just finished my first shoot with this guy and I like it. The clear zoom function is simply amazing. For a 12:1 lens to reach out like this with the clear zoom is mind-blowing. I shoot run and gun all across Chicago. I used to run with a Sony VG30 and every time I seen a low light shot coming I started to sweat hoping that the shot would be usable...Not anymore!! The Sony HXR-NX100 is an untamed beast in all conditions from the built in ND filter to it's extreme low light capabilities. This is by far the best outcome of a new video camera purchase ever for me and I have been shopping since the nine nine! The nx100. It's what I needed. This camera cost less than my vx1000, vx2100. Does more than both and worth the money you pay for it. I like that it is a camcorder form factor. Very impressed with this camera. Fun and easy to use. Footage looks very similar to the fs700. Comfortable as a handheld as well. Bigger in size then I thought it would be. All in all its a great camera at an awesome price.

The light sensitivity is really good at f/2.8, the lens rings are very comfortable and having two card slots is just perfect.
