Solid lens for the price
While there are better 50mm lenses out there, its tough to beat this one's value. Has good bokeh and a decently fast autofocus. Great for anyone looking for this focal length but not willing to spend the cash on a Zeiss or Sigma Art.

Easy Recommendation - Get it!
Using this on my A6500, and it's pretty much impossible not to love. Small, light, very affordable, sharp, snappy focus, great build quality, decent OSS. If you are only going to buy one prime and you do portraits, this is your lens.

Great Lens
This lens is used with my Sony a6500. The actual focal length on the a6500 is 75mm. Using the in camera zoom it's 75mm - 150mm. It has OSS that works with the camera's sensor OSS and together they work really good. It's as sharp as any lens in my bag. It's light, it's small, it seems to me to be a quality build. This lens is a keeper.

A great prime lens
This is used on my a6500 so its more like a 75mm. Using clear zoom its anywhere from 75 mm to 150 mm. The videos and pictures come out very sharp and I am very pleased with how good this lens works. Its superlight and has image stabilization. What else could you ask for?

Should be the first lens you get
For the money you should have this lens. I'm not a pro, but gosh you can take some really sharp pictures. The 35mm is another option if you have a little more money in the wallet, but this is a great place to start to build excitement.

Focussing is quick, excellent bokeh for portraits. Tried for indoor sports as well, performed petty well. Focussing is spot on and am really impressed.

My favorite lens
f1.8 allows to take pictures in a practically dark room and makes for a very nice background blur. It focusses fast and accurately and has been my favorite lens in the last weeks.

Great Image Quality and Solid Construction
Although this lens is almost twice the price of Canon's equivalent, I think the money is worth it. This lens paired with the 18-105mm F4 and 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 on an a6300 is a solid kit that could cover almost everything you would need in my opinion. The construction is great as is the image quality.

Amazing for portrait !
After i bought the sony a6300 with the kit lens i directly picked this lens up immedietly ! Everything from this lens is fantastic however for me there is a tiny issue is the manual focus; due to the wireless focus ring, it kind of slow and hard to focus in a one single right spot.

Sony Alpha series portrait lens
Bought this to add a portrait lens for my recent purchase of a Sony Alpha 6000. Given the selection of portrait lenses for the Sony E-mount, this seemed to be the safe bet, considering my camera is new to me, also. This lens takes really nice pictures, with enough bokeh to impress. You can't go wrong with this lens.

Love The Image Quality, Hate the Durability
I really want to give this lens a 5 star. The quality of portraits I get out of it are as good as even my pro lenses. I bought it for my Sony 6300. I wanted a light outfit for my on location jobs. It worked great until I put it in my bag next to a heavier lend. After that job I noticed a few dents in the thin metal casing of the 50mm f1.8. Also the black paint on the focus ring is wearing off from normal use, after just a few months. I will conti... Show More

My new carry around lens.
I am extremely pleased with the quality and performance of the E 50mm f/1.8 OSS lens. IQ is awesome! I have it mounted on my a6000. No focusing problems and I have not noticed any CA or vignetting. I would by this glass again in a heartbeat.

Sharp pictures...great image quality! Bought for my daughter's a6000. Quick focus too. Makes me want to dump all of my DSLR gear and switch to Sony...maybe.

I would definitely buy this lens again
This lens works very well for photographing my newborn grandson and my 3 year old grandson. Amazing photos in a compact lens. I was disappointed when the scheduled delivery through UPS was rescheduled and arrived three days later than originally scheduled. I specifically ordered through B&H because of the quick delivery and my limited time visiting my grandkids. The lens was scheduled for Friday delivery and I received the lens the next Monday. Unfortunately, I left on Sunday and had to wait another week to photograph my new grand baby.

So far so good
I bought this lens along with an a6000 body for a trip to Europe so will have more thoughts after that. But so far, it seems to produce sharp images with good color. The attached photo was taken in diffuse late afternoon light in aperture priority at f4. No complaints.

Great little portrait lens!
This little guy packs a punch without punching the purse. It offers you great low light capability and good Bokeh for portraiture. The image quality is slightly crisper than my SELP 18-105mm, and overall it's just a good lens if your starting up a senior portrait or simply need something to take some of your images to the next level this is the lens for you.

Excellant Lens
I bought this prime lens in order to have a high resolution portrait lens. Photos are noticeably sharper than than with the kit zoom lens. I will make some definitive measurements in the future. I'm quite pleased with the performance of this lens.
