Good camera, big price, missing a couple of things.
I bought this camera a week ago and have run about a thousand shots through it. Focusing is good but not great. On occasion, the camera cycles through the focus range before landing on the subject. This happens when the lights are a bit lower. For the price, I feel that no gadget should be left behind. Not worth it!
The quality just isn't there...from the battery door which has no spring to close it to the lack of intuative controls. I had it for 3 days, then returned it. It is heavier than it should be and the 24-600mm lense is a farce! Admittedly, I am a long time Canon shooter, but the ads (especially the video from Sony) were misleading at best. when you don't want the hassle, bulk, or weight of an interchangeable lens camera there is no better way to go than a 1 inch sensor with wide angle to superzoom with 4k video

Loving this camera
I won't pretend to be a camera/photo nut. Which is why I buy advanced point and shoot. I have had the Panasonic FZ200 for a number of years. I wanted to upgrade so I could wirelessly transfer photos to my phone (which works flawlessly by the way) and the increased telephoto makes taking pictures at my kids sports events that much better. I like eveything about this camera. Reviews stated that the controls were clunky and not intuitive...I disagree. I'm clearly no expert but I've been able to make the camera do whatever I need it to. It's a big winner!

Exceeds my expectations.
I've been a semi pro photographer for years, and now as I approach 70, I find that I just don't want to carry around 50 pounds of Canon equipment any more. I've been looking for a camera that would do a good enough job of replacing all my lens etc, so that I could get rid of the big gear. Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 III Digital Camera by Sony
This new camera is awesome! Love the zoom length and the macro shots. Movies are so clear they almost seem 3D. I had the RX10 original version and the improvements are noticeable. The flexibility for this single lens camera is what I upgraded for and I got it! I also like the new memory recall setup and the exposure wheel on the top. It is heavier and larger than my previous version but worth it with the new lens upgrade. The only negative comment is that the manual they give with it is worthless so you need to go online to download the Users Gide which is much better.

Awesome Big Bore Lens
The high frame rate mode is great. Pictures are bright and clear. I wish the manual were more descriptive. I did some movies with it, and file sizes are so big that it is unlikely that I will be able to share them. A clearer manual would have directed me to a different movie shooting mode.

Best superzoom today for shooting stills and 4K UHD videos
If you want a camera to cover the 24-600mm eqiv range with fast apertures (F2.4-F4) this is what you need. It has zero chromatic aberration even at the long end since Sony used SD APO objective. It is so shark you could use 50x clear zoom in 4K UHD that is very usable if you need 1200mm eqiv. I very seldom use my GH4 or NX1 since getting it since it has such a great range.

An all purpose heavy weight
Amateur photographer here. Good: Excellent quality images that rivals aps-c cameras including A65 and A77. Beautiful movies with an added bonus of stunning slow motion. Excellent stability even at full zoom. Bad: This camera is heavy. First time users might have to hunt for menu items. Inability to tilt the flash up for ceiling bounce (which I do with A6000). Nice 'all-in-one' camera
I generally shoot Canon cameras (5D III; 7D II), but have been looking for that all-in-one camera for travel and the times I'm just not in the mood to carry all the lens and stuff for my Canons. Very impressed so far with this camera. Nice, clear, and sharp photos even indoors without flash.

I am having a lot of fun with this camera. I would say the hardest part is remembering all that it is actually capable of, and then finding it when you need it. Big Winner From Sony--Again
The DSC-RX10 III (otherwise known as the M3) is really a joy to work with. The new Zeiss zoom is comparable to many expensive interchangeable lenses that are available for DSLRs and ILCs. The quality of the build and the myriad of features are awesome. Though a little pricey for its class one soon forgets that once you hold it in your hands and start using it.

Everything in a small package
Like the other reviewer, I shot with big heavy Canons for years, with 3 huge lenses, plus a video camera for 2K video. Now, it's all in one package that sits on a belt loop case... and the pictures are better! BTW, as an idea how good the video is, I was a TV network reporter for years. The video from this camera is a quantum order better than all the 40 pound, $40,000 camcorders we lugged around for years and my B & H sales guy was great.

Extraordinary Performance
This was an impulse buy when I saw it first become available. I already have the Sony RX100M4 which is wonderful and compact but has a limited zoom range. The fact this camera goes to 600m Equiv. is spectacular, and the image stabilization works really well. Impressive
I am a Canon user, this is my first time I try a Sony Camera, and it is a big surprise, Sony did an wonderful job in here. My first Impressive is the lens. Something I can call it dream lens, Zeiss 24-600mm and f2.4 - 4. It can cover all what you need, low light is good. On the other hand, it can capture 4k video, so it is the great ideal for traveling that I don't need carry a big bag with lens, or use it as backup or secondary camera. Ultimate Motorcycle/Travel Camera
I shoot for my Motorcycle/Travel blog. For years shot with a Nikon system: D800e, D810 lenses - 10-14, 24-12, 70200, 200400, 200-500, plus all the filters and tripod. That is a lot of stuff to get onto the bike! Picked up the RX10 Mark 3 when it was released. Have shot a field test - which can be seen on my blog - and rather impressed with this camera. For my needs, believe it to be the ultimate travel camera with the reach all the way out to 600mm it is fantastic: plus 4K!

LOVE this Camera!!!
Pros: 24-600 zoom lens 2.4-4. This gives all the flexibility of carrying multiple lens without have to worry about what to take and what to use when you're out taking photos. Having used the RX10 for 1-1/2 years, I knew what this camera was capable of. So I didn't hesitate to pre-order. It has so far lived up to my expectations and more. LOVE it!
As a professionalPhotographer and Videographer I could not wait to receive this camera. I was looking for a longer zoom and a Sony cyber-shot that could take an external mic and additional flash unit. I had received a Sony DSCHX-200V as a gift a few years ago and the image and video quality blew me away. The RXIII looks like a photographer's and videographer's prayer answered. Took some test images this morning and the results are great. Will post more images soon but wanted to share the excitement of this camera right away!
