Beyond my wildest expectations.

Jan 11, 2018

For some years I've been trying to find a bridge camera that would satisfy my need for quality and versatility. I come from a background of Canon Pro gear but was looking for something to replace the cumbersome heavy equipment with. This Sony does just that. I find that all in all, I am getting more shots I like with this camera than I did with $50,000 worth of Canon. While my friends with the "big glass" are setting up for the shot, I've got it and the bird has moved on. I love this camera.

Wow! What An Incredible 4K Camera!

May 23, 2017

We needed a quick draw point and shoot for wildlife stills and video. The RX10 111 absolutely is the answer for our needs! 600mm optical zoom all but scratches moose on their backs! That 1 sensor is great for those magic hour low light conditions up her in the high country. We simply have got to be ready for running play back country adaptation. We are also pleased with how easily the RX10 111 video integrates with our FS7 video when we are editing. What a perfect fit- we are so compatible!

Perfect all in one camera.

Jan 2, 2017

This is the best camera I have used for my hiking adventures. It is not the smallest camera I have used, but has the reach for when you want to get close. It is light in weight for its size. For those that don't like the Sony menu system, it is easy enough to customize the fn and custom function buttons to give you one click changes. I would suggest to anyone getting this camera to download the more extensive manual, as the one that they package with the camera is highly abridged

This is a phenomenal camera

Jan 12, 2017

I own 2 Nikon SLRs and one Fuji mirrorless camera. This Sony still blows me away. The image quality is fantastic, both in terms of sharpness, color and low light ability. The focusing speed and accuracy is also really good. And to have a 24-600mm all in one zoom is something that every photographer wants. I use it for street photography, and love the fact that I can photograph people across the street without them knowing. I recommend this to everyone who loves photography!

Ultimate Motorcycle/Travel Camera

May 11, 2016

I shoot for my Motorcycle/Travel blog. For years shot with a Nikon system: D800e, D810 lenses - 10-14, 24-12, 70200, 200400, 200-500, plus all the filters and tripod. That is a lot of stuff to get onto the bike! Picked up the RX10 Mark 3 when it was released. Have shot a field test - which can be seen on my blog - and rather impressed with this camera. For my needs, believe it to be the ultimate travel camera with the reach all the way out to 600mm it is fantastic: plus 4K!

Outstanding travel camera and backup to pro camera.

Jun 30, 2017

Pricey but worth it. Awesome image quality up to 1000 ISO; not bad at higher ISO's; equal or better than most APS-C sensor cameras at lower ISO's I am convinced. It beat out my Nikon D7100 as my go to camera when street walking all day; not small, but much lighter, plus wide to super zoom. No extra lenses needed. Fine backup for my Nikon D750. Might keep the D7100 for longer reach with my 500mm lens for serious bird shooting. And the Nikons have better autofocus.

Super Bridge Camera

Jun 8, 2017

What a nice camera, this Gem from Sony feels great and performs well. The camera is made from excellent materials and the lens is outstanding offer a huge range for bringing in those distant objects, I purchased it specifically for wildlife photos and to save carrying multiple cameras and a huge array of lenses. So far I have not been disappointed and am very pleased with the performance, the case is a great addition, especially when provided at no cost.

Terrifiec Bridge Camera

Jan 18, 2017

I had been looking for a bridge camera for travel somewhere between my DSLR + lenses and my point and shoot camera that would not take much room. The RX10 M3 is the perfect camera. I'm still learning all the features but so far I am very, very impressed with its abilities. Love the 24-600 lens and all the other stellar functionality of this camera. Not quite all the features of my Nikon D7000 but pretty close. The RX10 M3 is my new go-to camera.

Everything in a small package

May 16, 2016

Like the other reviewer, I shot with big heavy Canons for years, with 3 huge lenses, plus a video camera for 2K video. Now, it's all in one package that sits on a belt loop case... and the pictures are better! BTW, as an idea how good the video is, I was a TV network reporter for years. The video from this camera is a quantum order better than all the 40 pound, $40,000 camcorders we lugged around for years and my B & H sales guy was great.

What's Not To Like?

Aug 10, 2016

You wanna buy a bridge? Well, this one is a no-brainer. Took me a while to pull the trigger on this because of the high price but the quality of the resulting images will leave you with no buyer's remorse. The extra 400mm of zoom reach over its predecessor (RX10ii) alone is worth the extra cash. This should be a great vacation camera and I'll soon find out as this will accompany me to New Zealand in 2 weeks. Highly recommended!

Great camera just got better!

Jun 7, 2016

I have an RX-10 and have been very satisfied with everything about it. I purchased the model III simply because of the longer reach afforded by the 600mm zoom, and I have been completely satisfied with it. I own a Canon G3X and they are equally good cameras for general, everyday carry. You see a marked improvement moving up from the 1/2.3 sensor on most mega-zooms and they both take filters. (The Canon requires an adapter.)

This camera delivers

May 18, 2016

I'm using this to capture stills and video in low-light concerts and events. It's the perfect all-in-one for times when you just don't want to lug the big DSLR and all the glass. The lens on this camera is very good at all focal lengths. You'd pay $1000 or more for a 150-600; get this camera first. Focusing could be a more responsive, especially on the long end, but this is manageable. You'll find ways to compensate.

Everyone shocked that I bought an all in one bridge camera

Sep 20, 2016

I shoot with a Nikon D4 primarily, so this is a big change for me to use. I bought it specifically to use on a 4 day trip to the Circuit of the Americas racetrack and it did not disappoint. The package strikes the right balance of heft and feel. It seems very well built. It's never going to replace my pro SLR, as the speed and features, but it did meet or even exceed my expectations for image quality given the size.

Second 5 Star Review; after a few months, it gets BETTER

Dec 29, 2016

Just returned from a shoot in San Miguel de Allende and this camera still blows me away. The top photo of the gardener's watch, working on the ground floor, was taken from the 4th floor of the rosewood Hotel. As a professional photographer, videographer and teacher of photography, I must say this is the best camera I have ever owned. Street photography, landscapes, night-all made picture perfect with this camera.

Love this camera!

Jun 5, 2016

I've never had a Sony camera before but I am very impressed with this one. It's such a great alternative to carrying a super heavy and large DSLR lens with the same range, which I couldn't have afforded anyway! This camera is an excellent alternative to a DSLR for those who wish to carry one piece of equipment for their travel and everyday needs. I have a feeling my DSLR will be sitting in it's case for awhile.

This RX10 III will meet most photographer's needs.

Jun 30, 2016

I have been using the RX10 III for a little over a week and have taken it on three test runs. Macro, Birds in Flight and normal use. I have found that the camera meets most of my needs with the photography that I do and will be my travel camera for cruise's and most vacation use. I will use it with my A7RII and A6300 when I go to the wetlands to do my wildlife photography. I definably recommend this camera.

Lots of digital capability in a single package.

Feb 1, 2017

I purchased this camera to upgrade my digital photography from much simpler point and shoot cameras and to combine with an upgraded capability for videography. This is a very sophisticated and capable camera system and with an awesomely capable lens. As an amateur user, it will take me a while to fully utilize this camera's features. I love not having to carry around several cameras and a bunch of lenses.

Quite Amazing

May 20, 2016

Just purchased this camera a few days ago. Very simple to use. Easy to wifi to my iphone. (press the trash button for the password!). The color is natural and it is close to what you see is what you get. I was thinking of the Leica Q, but this camera is much more useful on holidays. I was advised that low lighting may induce more noise due to small sensor. So will compensate by using tripod and lower ISO.

Nice camera; particularly for travel

Dec 26, 2016

This is my second RX10. I was a fan of the RX10 I, and I like the improvements on this one -- especially the longer lens. When I'm traveling with family, or for work, I have always liked Sony's RX100 and now the RX10 III is proving to me to be a nice alternative. Bulkier, but with a much longer lens for telephoto shots. I've used it a lot since purchasing it, and can see myself buying later versions.

Correction to my Previous Review.

Feb 23, 2017

I recommended a manual for the DSC-RX10 lll and gave the wrong name for it's author. Alexander S. White has written the best manual I've ever seen for any camera. Its title is Photographer's Guide to the Sony DSC-RX10 lll. This camera performs beautifully at its default settings, but has so much more to offer that I needed a guide to access and program its many features for my kind of photography.

Pretty darn good - especially for backpacking

Jul 3, 2017

I'd give this 5 stars if it had a larger sensor and was a tad lighter. But otherwise this has been an amazing camera. I upgraded from a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 and am very happy. The noise seem slower, the image sharper and I picked up extra reach on the lens. I will be using this mostly for backpacking. It allows me to leave the big DSLR and lenses behind while still giving me excellent images.

A pretty nice camera that could use some fixes.

Aug 14, 2017

I bought this camera to try replacing my Canon 70D and multiple lens. I have a bad back and need to reduce the amount of equipment I carry. The lens is excellent and the camera does a good job for most tasks but has problems focusing at times especially in the 400 to 600 mm range at times. The menus are hard to navigate and somewhat disorganized. It would be really nice to have a touch screen.

terrible image stabilization

May 27, 2016

I was shooting video on an inspection ramp of a suspension bridge in Lisbon with the this RX10 and a Panasonic GH4. The footage from the Sony was unusable because the vibration on the bridge caused this weird image modulation and the Panasonic by comparison was perfect. If I had realized that the image stabilization feature of the this RX10 is so poorly implemented I would have turned it off.

Best Bridge Camera I could Find!

Dec 29, 2016

Zeiss Glass cannot be beat. 24-600 range in one lens gives tremendous latitude, without too much sacrifice in quality. The camera does hunt to focus, but only occasionally, mostly in low light. Incredible build quality over it's rivals, although somewhat larger, and heavier due to the all metal body. Pricy, but well worth it. Customer Service at B&H is the best. I am very happy!!
