It's almost perfect
This camera gets a lot of stuff right. It's such a great improvement over the last generation. It takes great photos, performs great on high ISOs, videos are decent with log profiles, burst rate is decent at 10fps. AF is very snappy and covers most of the sensor. The list goes on and on.Read over the specifications and you'll know why everyone is hyping this camera. I'll talk about some of its shortcomings. 1. Menu system - It's known fact tha... Show More

D - O - A
Dead on arrival - no kidding. No battery charger (not a big deal - but really for $2k?). Obviously to get to this price point Sony has cut corner. I would wait for the next revision.

The one about the charger
Really disappointed this didn't come with a dedicated battery charger. Now I get to wait a whole day just to charge two using the camera. I had to double check the box label to see what contents were included since I thought mine went missing in transition. I already expected to not have a type-c cable included, but not the charger. Releasing a great "basic" camera for only $2,000 shouldn't mean leaving out the charger to "save" on cost.

One start well deserved
Not including a charger and including a dead battery.... Really? Yep. One star...

Amazing
I was not able to get it from b&h for canada delivery but I got it with my local store. Wow this camera is not basic at all. It is sooooo good for the price! Worth every dollars.

I find myself grabbing my A7 III more often than my A7R III.
Ever since I've got my A7 III, I find myself grabbing A7 III more often than my A7R III. For the most part, I think A7R III's resolution is absolute overkill and only needed for specific purposes. I also enjoy enhanced phase detection AF points on the A7 III, which now covers almost the entire frame for better composition. I also found that the autofocus IQ has also been slightly improved over the A7R III, as the A7 III will most often focus on... Show More

Superb camera with a few flaws
I am both a photographer and a videographer, so hybrid cameras that perform well at both tasks have always appealed to me. I started my hybrid camera journey with the Canon 70D and its class-leading dual pixel autofocus. I also purchased a Canon 6D as my primary photography camera, and I have built up a decent collection of Canon lenses. Then along came the NX1 with even more impressive autofocus, higher framerates in photo (15 FPS) and video (1... Show More

Best u can get for $2000... who cares about battery chargers
I would said this camera is miles ahead of competition, but to said it better, this camera is hundreds of dollars lower than competition. sensor size, features, evf that wont burn my eye on a daily basis, i can even frame and compose eclipses, a body customizable like no other, great menus (not sarcasm, always used sony, so its natural to me, with the customs buttons and fav menu, hardly go deep in the menu again, canon/nikon menus are worst, i h... excellent camera with some flaws
I've been using mirrorless cameras since 2011. I've had a bunch of m4/3, several Canon M, a dozen of Fujis, and almost all Sonys, both APS-C and FF. My last Sony was A7Rii. This camera is better than anything I had before. The image quality is excellent, the noise is very low, Sony finally got the metering and WB right, so even jpegs and default converted raws are usable without any additional editing. But, of course, if you do edit raw files (a... Show More

Best Sony Alpha yet
I used the Sony A7Rii for several years and although I was happy with it, the battery life and auto-focus was not perfect. I upgraded to the a7iii and am glad that I did. Yes, the A7iii has less megapixels than the a7rii but unless cropping small objects from large landscapes, that likely won't add value. What makes the a7iii a major winner is incredible auto-focus, excellent battery life, USB-C port (faster video and photo downloads to computer)... Show More

Transitioning to Full Frame
I bought the A7III as an upgrade to my a6000. Excited to get involved with full frame shooting after a waiting for this camera for a couple years. It was shipped on time, and all is working as expected, no issues.

Great hybrid camera
Really enjoy this camera. Does an excellent job with photos and videos. Sony has to to make their menus better though holy moly.

Disappointed!
Thought this will be a perfect camera, but it has serious quality control.. It also didn't come with charger!! 2000 dollars is cheap for what it can do, but it is a shame that it does not come with a charger. My battery isn't charging either, there is a defect. Going to refund and getting a new one..

No charger???
The cam is amazing... at least for the 2 minutes I got to play around with it before the battery died. This is the first camera I have ever purchased that has not come with a battery charger. It's absolutely insane to force the consumer to shell out an extra $88 to even use the camera. Most pathetic, Sony.

Great image quality and color rendition
Just took the new Sony a7iii with a GM fe24-70 f2.8 to the zoo. Details and IQ are amazing. Colors are gorgeous, even in shaded areas. once I am more comfortable with the camera, I am sure I will get more out of the a7iii. I upgraded from the a77m2.

Would you buy a car without a spare tire?
Well, for my first experience with Sony, I am disappointed to see that the body does not even come with its own battery charger. First time I see that in my 20 years experience as a photographer. What are you thinking Sony! Being cheap does not lead to quality and being pro.

Lens Connection Error
I really want to give this camera 5 stars, because I know it is a fantastic camera. But every single time I use it, I get a 'lens connection' error. I have tried to troubleshoot it by cleaning off the gold connection pins on the lens, but I still keep getting an error. I have sent it back for an exchange, hopefully my new one will be a 5 star camera. Here's a video if you want to see the problems:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fg5FhAMZFmE&feature=youtu.be

No Real Battery Charger
This camera will be the firat sony camera for an enormous number of people. That's who it is aimed at; and no charger - that is just dumb. We all know this is a great machine, but a load of new users will think sony is ridiculous for this. It probably costs 6 dollars to make a wall charge unit. Really unfortunate. I own A7Riii - so I have a charger.

Solid upgrade from the A7ii
With improved low light performance, battery life, and autofocus Im really enjoying this upgrade. Its images are amazing. It comes with the same AC to multi port charger cable that the A7ii has not sure why everyones freaking out here. Amazing camera.

Awesome camera. Everything I expected and more. This camera is a steal for under $2k. The only negative is a lack of a battery charger. Sony should do include one.

Amazing camera. Amazing price. Just buy a charger.
Just received my a7 III and this is the perfect camera for both photo and video. I'm a wedding film maker and was looking for a 3rd body to add to my arsenal (2 a7s II's) but also wanted a higher resolution camera for photography without breaking the bank. After watching a few reviews regarding its low light capabilities I was sold. Now that I had a day with it to personally check it and run it through its paces, I'm glad I made the investment. ... FIVE STAR CAMERA -5 STAR COMPANY
This camera is amazingly fast and 24mp is more than enough for lot of people; however, at 2K, Sony refused to include the battery charger which to me is the most ridiculous marketing strategy on their part. I gave a lower rating so that perhaps Sony would honor customers with free charger as a bundle through their authorized dealers.

Have A7R3 and Added A73 BUT Beware!
Although I have not used it yet I am sure the camera and its systems are GREAT like my A7R3 BUT!!!!! Seriously, the base body does NOT come with a battery charger or a cable holder. REALLY Sony... Did a $10 charger and a $1 plastic cable support threaten to break the bank??? I guess they expect us to buy theSony BC-QZ1 Battery Charger for $88. Sony you cheeped out.
