I really like it.
I'm coming from a Canon 5D mark 2. It was and sill is a really great camera. It's also easily capable of great image quality. The Sony has many worthy upgrades. With the Sigma MC-11, I have been able to use all my Canon L glass and even Sigma lenses without any problems. I'll hold on to most of my Canon lenses. They work fine on the Sony A7 iii for me. Great photographs really are a lot more about skill and ability than equipment. The tools can h... Show More

Excellent Camera with one gripe
This is an excellent camera in many ways. My only gripe is where video recording button is placed. I am using metabone with Canon and Sigma lenses so far with absolute no issues. I do want to try with Sony lenses at some point. The price is right. The IQ is the better than Fujifilm XH1 and Olympus EM1 Mark 11. I have not shot much video as yet so I cannot comment on it. The autofocus is amazing and probably its best feature. If Fujifilm xt3 canno... Show More

Worth it once youre over the learning curve
Took me weeks of watching a hundred youtube tutorials addressing extremely specific issues, but im at the point where the positives outweigh the negatives. A few things to point out- rude of them not to include a battery charger- only lucky I have one from the a7rIII but it would be nice to, you know, have one for each. I see unable to operate, writing to memory card at least 200 times a day, because for some reason they disabled half of the feat... Show More

Extremely Happy & Satisfied
Ive had this camera for over a week now and its been a joy to use. I upgraded from my Sony a6300 with the Tamron 28-75 f2.8, and its incredible how well this performs. Ive had to cover a couple of my university clubs events and Ive taken over 3000 photos just this past week. So far Ive had to reject far fewer shots, publish far more great (not just acceptable) photos, and Ive even had access to typically difficult shots due to lowlight conditions... Show More

A7iii is the fine wine of hybrid cameras
I had sold my a6500 & A7rii for 2 NEW A7iiis due to the fact my business partners and I do both video and photo work for many people and needed better reliability across the board with camera functions. The dynamic range in this camera adds so much depth and feeling to your photos like never before. Its truly a low light beast and if you know how to use a camera correctly as a professional you will be truly satisfied with this great tool. This ca... Show More

Best Upgrade without breaking the bank
I bought the a7III, mostly because I could not afford the Canon 1d markii. I love Canon cameras, but there was no in between upgrade from my 70D. So, I did my research and found this Sony. I do mostly video, and I love it! All the specs/ reviews on YouTube have lived up to par. The only reason I would give it 4 1/2 stars was because of how long it took to get to me. I was told B&H has the best customer service, so I decided to purchase this camer... Show More

Best Cinema Camra for video work
I have to admit, the Sony A73 is super sharp in 4K cinema/video. I use three Sony A73s and one Canon C200 for wedding ceremonies. The only down fall to the A73s is that it does overheat after 45 minutes of continuous 4K 30p recording in the DIRECT sunlight with 80 degrees outside weather. C200 won't over heat :) Dual Recording is a MUST for weddings!! Focuses super fast ! I have one A73 with the Sony FE 28mm 2.0 on my Zhiyun Crane 2 and it's a be... Show More

Love this camera
I upgraded from the Sony A6000 about 6 months ago. I love this camera. I have the FE 100-400 with the teleconverter, the kit lenses that came with it , Sony Vario-Tessar 16-35mm wide angle, the FE 70-300mm and the Sigma Macro Lens. Every lens I shoot with the results are amazing. Beautiful bokeh and image clearness right through to the edges. I am an avid amateur but this camera is helping me push my boundaries. As good as they claim
Best camera I have purchased for stills and video. Solid build. Feels more expensive than the MSRP. Two examples with the kit lens. Nice bokeh on the lock/fence shot. 4K video looks tack sharp. My only complaint is the price for telephoto lenses. I will get the Zeiss 55mm prime but I might cheap out and get an APSC lens for my telephoto uses which are not many. When my bank account allows I will get the G Master 70-200 F2.8 but it is an expensive... Show More

Great camera for all needs!
A great value camera (as good as $2k), the A7III will be able to suit all your needs with minimal compromise. The auto-focusing system is lightning quick and very accurate. Low light performance is great as well, I'm very comfortable using images shot at ISO 6400 and even 12800 can be manageable. The body is comfortable and compact, with dual-SD slots for added peace of mind. Battery life is very improved among Sony's FF cameras. This camera is n... Show More

Kit lens is garbage
Switched from Canon 6D, and am blown away. Time lapse, focus peaking, eye AF, and tons of customization are just a few game changers this camera provides. That said, skip the kit lens; it's junk. Many review it favorably, but if your used to good glass you will be sorely disappointed. Save that $200 and put it towards something that does this camera justice. I picked up the 28 f2 and it is leaps and bounds better and quite affordable. Also note... Show More

Get this camera!
I am at the airport looking through videos and photos I took with this camera over the past 12 days in Peru. I am just blown away. The autofocus, low light, battery life, usability of this camera are incredible. 1 battery would last me two days on average. The camera is rugged. I was backpacking for 5 days in the mountains and jungle and I had zero issues. The customization is so nice for video/photo shooters. The custom buttons can be customized... Show More

Huge step forward
Ive been using the original A7 as my main camera (mostly for video.) It still gives me some nice images under ideal shooting conditions, but if the light is off or quick focus is required it is definitely showing its age. This new camera has been mind blowing in its quick focus, improvements to ergonomics, and ability to shoot in low light that rivals the A7Sii. Almost every frustration I had with my A7 has been addressed in this camera, with the... Show More

Great Entry Level PRO Full Frame!!!!!
When I bought this camera, I didnt know what to expect. I had only shot on entry-level APS-C cameras with a kit lens and highly inaccurate focusing system, so I didnt know what I would be getting. Wow! The autofocus is lightning fast, and the kit lens is incredibly sharp, much sharper than anything Id ever used before! You wont be disappointed. Sony Alpha a7 III
Despite the obstacles around Sony's navigation menu, overall, this camera is totally worth its retail price tag by far. As a long time Canon user who was on the band wagon hype at the time with the 7D and 5D, it was quite a hard decision to switch over due to owning canon lens. After a few weeks of hands on and being a videographer over a photographer with just the lens kit, I'm blown away with the recording quality. The custom buttons for key ma... Show More

Better than any other A7 bodies I have used so far !
This review about the A7III body, rather that the lens. I don't use AF lenses so I have no idea about the lens. I have been using Sony A7 bodies since 2014. I have had original A7, A7II, A7sII, and I can confidently say that A7III has been the best body I have used so far. I don't know anything about auto focus abilities, since I use Leica or Voigtlander lens though Voigtlander VM-E Close Focus adapters. They work like a charm. Personally, I f... Show More

Best hybrid camera - well at least for 2018
I had the GH4 in 2014 for the 4K but the AF and low-light bothered me so I got the a6300 in 2015; loved that so I got the a6500 and waited for the GH5 which was disappointing so I waited for the a7III. First day of sales the body only were sold out but the kit lens + body were available for $200 so I snapped it up and got it two days later. Excellent camera. great camera with serious flaws
I won't repeat what has already been said about the great image quality and low light capability. I only want to mention some flaws that may be critical to some people and that other reviews didn't mention. First, the Eye-AF. It doesn't really work well with fast lenses and shallow DOF. If a person has recessed eyes (most caucasian people), the AF would focus on a brow or nose, but not the eyeball. Second, AF tracking with shallow DOF. It happe... Show More

Ignore Silly "No Battery Charger" Reviews
Seriously, You'll give a camera a one star review because it doesn't have an external battery charger? Big deal, buy one. I go out with two charged batteries and after shooting for many hours haven't touched the second one yet. When I get home I charge the one I used. This is an outstanding hybrid camera that excels at both video and stills for $2K. You can't find a camera at this price point or even higher that comes close. It's not perfect, but... Show More

Love this camera.
I haven't had an interchangeable lens camera in over ten years. About five years ago I started using Sony cameras and love them both. And since I'm finally learning to get around the Sony menu system, I didn't want to move to another brand. So after a lot of research I settled on the A7 Mark III. I bought it with the 28-70 kit lens and have since added a Sony 85mm f/ 1.8 lens. I am totally impressed with the camera and the lenses and am thrilled ... Show More

I took me a little while to figure out the functions and how access them, but once you get yo know your camera better you just have a great time playing with it.
