Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 16-50mm Lens (Black)
Fantastic system!!!
This camera has lived up to the rave reviews and specs. and surpassed them.Better than I could imagine.

Excellent as advertised
This camera is so light and compact compared to my DSLR that I now pick it up first. It takes great photos, but I would like a greater lens selection. Also, Sony provides essentially no documentation with the camera. Since it is a complex device it takes some time to become familiar with the may functions.

Wonderful Product
While I am new to photography, I have studied hard. I do both photos and video. I started out with a Canon 70D and it was a great camera. But for Video outside I found it to clunky when switching between Photo and Video. Now the A6000 Fixed that. I can change Mode, and setting on the fly. I loved the OLED viewfinder. Finally I can shot in Bright light and see what I am videoing. The video quality and photo exceed my Canon 70D. The only thing I am missing is that I must be good cause I have a big camera. This camera is small. The more I shot with it the more I love it.

New tricks for old dog
First, it may be a five star product, but I am still learning how to use. I am an apple user, but a slow learner with some technology. The camera is great in taking sharp pictures, quick focus and frame speed. Having a little trouble figuring out how to use the recommended software. The manual supplied with the camera was superficial. It mentioned all the buttons, menus, etc, but assumed I was at least an intermediate digital photographer. Bought... Show More

high performance camera
bought this camera prior to a European vacation. Did not plan on a Sony, but the specs spoke for themselves, so we decided on this camera. Hard to take a bad picture. The intelligent auto mode adjusts beautifully as the scenery changes. Even in the darkness of the Parisian catacombs and cistern in Istanbul, no flash required. Shutter speeds adjusted accordingly and captured beautiful photos. I am a simple point and shoot kind of guy. Highly recommend this camera for the novice photographer looking for a reasonably priced, high performance rig.

Great camera for a beginner
we were looking to buy a basic camera, but not a point and shoot. This was the next best option for someone who doesn't want to just have everything on Auto focus. We are not fancy photographers by any means and were looking for upgrade from our camera phones. The camera is small and light weight. The different settings take a minute to learn but within an hour I was able to learn and take beautiful pictures.

A move to newer technology
It will take a little getting used to but the weight alone vs my dslr backpack is a big plus.

Seriously loving it
I am a macro and nature enthusiast and I also want a high-quality point and shoot that I can carry around for family pictures and such. I formerly had a G15, which is great for the second use, but not so much for the first. I upgraded to this camera recently and I have not regretted it in the slightest. The 16-50mm kit lens is perfect for P&S features, and there is nice array of other lenses that I have yet to try out. It is much more photographe... Show More

Sony A6000 - A the hype is true
Search the Internet on profession photographer Gary Fong and Sony A6000. Everything he says about this camera is true. I love it.

Love everything about it except...
It has been amazing for street portraits and action (the 11fps and autofocus is pretty freakin' awesome). I've been using the 35mm f1.8 for a bit and it is pretty spectacular what you can get out of this little camera. Unless you are doing serious studio work where you need full frame, there isn't anything this can't do - and you won't look like a tool toting around a big DSLR. I shoot a lot of videos and gave it a go recently to see how it would... Show More

Great travel camera !
This little camera is a dream to use when on vacation with friends and family ! You can use it as a point and shoot, or get more creative with it with manual settings. I bought it because it's lightweight, and I've found that I don't take as many photos when I'm out and about as I used to because I don't want to bring along the Canon 5D MarkIII with the 28-300 lens. WAY too heavy. So this is my solution. I'm waiting for Sony to come out with a lens that zooms from wide angle to super telephoto. maybe 10 to 200, (this is a crop sensor), but for now, for what I'm using it for, I'm happy !

Sony a6000
I've had the Sony a6000 for about 2 weeks, before this, I used a NEX-6 for about a year. Big difference will be the menu and I think it's easier to use. There's a lot of menu but you'll mostly use only a few things all the time. I upgraded from NEX-6 to a6000 because of the 24 mg sensor vs 16mg. I like to crop crop out the parts of the picture that don't tell the story. This is giving me less grain than the Nex-6 when I crop, but there is still g... Show More

Solid Camera and Fun to Shoot With
I purchased this camera to try with the Sony/Zeiss 16-70 mm Lens. Great combo! The camera? I've played around with several of the mirrorless brands at this point (Olympus, Lumix, Fuji) looking for a small camera/lens package that is the most similar to shooting with a DSLR.I think I found it with this camera and lens combo. The AF is really quick and can definitely used to shoot action shots; something that was difficult/not possible with other se... Show More

Excellent camera
I bought this camera because I want to learn about mirror less cameras. It is easy to use and has the possibility to customize some buttons. If more information about the camera is required, the manual in the box is not of much help. But there is a Help Guide at Sony support web page. I like the quality of pictures taken using RAW.

Great CSC camera!
Very fast focus system! Great photo quality. Very good EVF specially for bright days. I use it with the 16-70 Sony Zeiss lens and the colors and contrast are great! Best travel gear!

Great Camera
Takes great pictures. Low light performance is pretty good. Controls and UI are not that intuitive initially, but once you get the hang of it, you're good to go and appreciate it. WiFi feature is nice and I really like the ability to transfer photos to tablet/phone.

An amazing little camera!
If you've played with a mirrorless camera already, especially one of the Sony ones, then nothing here will surprise you. It's the same as the other Alpha cameras, only everything is 3x better/faster/sharper! While not revolutionary, this is a big evolutionary jump that gets several steps closer to bridging to the gap with consumer-grade DSLR's, in half the size and at half the price.

Excellent Travel Camera
Great camera so far. Transitioning from a heavy Canon 7D with lenses to the new light weight Sony A6000 and lenses. Such a difference in weight. Ideal for travel on planes and cruises. Pictures are very sharp. Have the kit lens, the 55-210 mm, and the Sony 35 mm 1.8. Purchased a 2nd battery as the camera eats the Sony battery included. Sony should have included a wall charger for the camera as it's awkward to plug into the wall with such a short ... Show More

Best alternative to a DSLR
Having tried the NEX-5R last year, this update addresses EVERY concern/issue I had and introduces some great features. The AF system is truly exceptional (only rivaled by top tier DSLR's). The only downfall is the lens selection offered by Sony but should be addressed in time. Video is something even more so amazing on this. After taking a few sample clips I could have sworn I was watching footage rivaling Discovery channel documentaries. This camera is fast in just about everything it does. It's reignited my passion for photography and I can't wait for more trips/vacations to bring it along.

Great camera value!
There's been many raving reviews already so I'll keep it short. Basically, you get a lot for the money! Nicely designed camera, nice fit in hand as long as your hands aren't HUGE, good EVF, easy to control after initial setup, fast AF, and great image quality. Its been called the best bang-for-the-buck in the mirrorless segment and I have to agree. Personally the only thing I wish it had is a touchscreen for selecting focus point. It was really handy on my Sony 5R.

Excellent purchase
While I am still getting used to the new camera, I am really impressed by the quality of the images for the price point. I heavily researched other makes and models and I believe this is an excellent value.

small and light with loads of features
I will be using this on travel trips and for impromptu shots. It is fully loaded with many automatic and manual settings. Unfortunately Sony has chosen not to provide a user manual with the product, however a PDF version can be downloaded from Sony's European site.

Great camera
I really like the fast autofocus and focus tracking. They work really well. It is so light compared to my DSLR. The color is acurate and rich. The frame speed is excellent and the resolution is great. So far the included lens seems fine. It is really packed with features and the WiFi works as described. I like that it becomes a hot-spot for my tablet to download pictures, and it offers some apps for some interesting things like Motion. It is really doing fine in low light.
