Great Camera! - Would NOT buy from B&H - Poor Customer Serv.

Jan 8, 2017

Great camera so far but our experience with B&H ordering the camera have made the experience less than desirable. The initial order was wrong. In trying to fix the order the second order was also wrong. They got the address wrong and part of the accessories were missing. Finally customer service said a credit would be applied as a way of making up for the poor service. A week later not seeing the credit I reached out only to be told that they wou... Show More

Great Little Camera!

Jan 13, 2016

I haven't had this camera long, so I don't have a real list of cons yet, but I will say this basically is a point-and-shoot form factor with SLR options. AF is nice and fast for my usage. In JPEG only mode, hi-burst shooting can hit about 90 in a row before buffering slows down the burst capability. It's closer to 20 in RAW + JPEG. Flash basically ruins the ability to burst shoot, so keep that in mind. Panoramic seems to work pretty well...very c... Show More

A LIGHT WEIGHT GOOD CAMERA

Jul 31, 2015

I like Sony Alpha a6000. It's a light weight camera. I have been using SLR pro cameras since 1970 but I like mirror less small cameras. I have Sony Alpha 3n and 5n. I use Sony 3n with legacy lenses and Sony 5n with telephoto lenses. It works great. But Alpha a6000 is fantastic camera with bells and whistles under $ . I took hundreds of sharp pictures with this camera. I use sigma 30mm DN which is faster than Sony 16-50mm kid lens especially in lo... Show More

Enjoying the camera despite minor quirks

Jul 19, 2014

After upgrading from a point-and-shoot camera there's no comparison. I'll admit that I'm still learning the controls, but the menu layout is really helpful in finding the right settings. The picture quality is really nice and the camera is just the right weight. The only thing I've noticed is that it's a bit uncomfortable to hold. Like others have stated, the camera grip is a bit too small. Battery life could have been better, but at least it's n... Show More

Excellent DSLR substitute

May 23, 2014

When portability is paramount, this camera system is an excellent substitute for my big Nikon D4 and D800. It takes surprisingly excellent images and is very versatile as a travel and portrait camera. The din standard flash hot shoe is a key feature for me because I like being able to trigger lights with Pocket Wizards and getting off camera flash going. I took this to Hawaii and found it to be a great hiking companion. I took a lot more photos t... Show More

Neat camera but Sony is a cheapskate

May 10, 2015

I got the a6000 as a second camera to my Nikon DSLR. It is really good - sharp pictures, comfortable to hold, good features and great burst mode. It loses at least one rating star due to Sony being a real miser. The instruction manual that comes with it is a joke. It only goes into the most basic operation and does not go into hardly any of the menu options. I was OK due to my familiarity with Nikon DSLRs and going online for additional guidance.... Show More

Marvelous camera, battery life shocking

Sep 15, 2015

Briefly, this is the most capable camera I've ever owned and I'm leaving a Canon 5DII system. The weight enables me to take it anywhere, the Zeiss 16-70 lens is sharp and responsive for my needs. I was aware of a battery life issue prior to buying but I was surprised how short a life each charge has. I got a spare battery and one just died last night so B&H will get another order. Great camera

Nov 22, 2017

This Sony takes very sharp images with the kit lens. I bought the speedlight for it but found that I don't need it. The camera flash does the job. I love the video but you can't video for more than 30 minutes or the camera shuts down due to internal heat. Also, if you buy an additional battery be sure it's a Sony battery because the off brands don't last 15 minutes in the camera. I saw that someone complained about taking shots in low light. If y... Great camera for just about everything!

Nov 11, 2015

I am in no way a photography expert, and my expirience is limited to doing it as a hobby. I wanted to get a camera that would take a really great picture without being too big to take anywhere, like most DSLRs. I was amazed by how quick the autofocus is and how good of quality pictures it takes. I have a younger brother who is in the marching band, and I was able to get some great pictures of him in action on the field (with the Sony 55mm to 200m... Show More

I've only had the camera for a month, but have already captured some incredible shots of citizens using public space in New York, Pittsburgh, Copenhagen, Malm, and Stockholm. I love this camera, absolutely no buyers' remorse like I usually have.My favorite thing to do so far is to do continuous shooting and create animated .gifs afterwards. Very happy

Aug 13, 2015

This camera is great. I use it to take pictures of my kids sporting events, vacations, and family gatherings. The camera body is light weight and the included kit lense is very good. It's great for printing out normal size pictures. If your planning on doing large(poster size) prints then I would recommend a different lense. Some reviewers were saying the kit lense sucks. This is not true at all. They are just snobby pixel warriors. I've enlarged... Show More

I bought this camera as a gift for my wife for christmas. We both have been taking pictures for a while now ever never had a camera with interchangable lenses. This camera performs awesome, I don't have a lot to compare it to but the camera is small, and much more advanced than any point and shoot I've used. I did a lot of research on this camera and i do not regret my decision. The kit lens doesn't seem bad but we are looking into the sel50f18 f... Show More

I had been waiting (like many others) for whatever model replaces the A6000. When the price for the body went down to $, I couldn't resist any longer.A big improvement over the NEX 6 in almost every respect. I miss the level, but I'll live. Pretty much everything good about this camera has been said over and over again. The one thing I hadn't expected is that the viewfinder has a wider diopter correction range than the NEX 6. Best Mirror-less Camera on the Market!

May 31, 2014

I've had the camera for several weeks now and I absolutely love it. Of course, making the jump from a compact underwater camera to a mirror-less interchangeable camera will be a big jump. But the camera's ability to shoot 11fps with continuous auto-focusing is great. Can't say enough how happy I am. I have the kit lens, so far so good. Best not to use in low light. I recommend buying the Zeiss 24mm, f.1.8 to accompany your a6000. Expensive, yes b... Show More

a6000

Jan 5, 2015

One of the main reasons I bought this model was the hype on how fast the AF was with the kit lens, etc. I had a Fuji X-E1 prior to this & was disappointed in how many indoor fast grandson shots I missed with it. I find the a6000 is a disappointment too, particularly in a what I consider a room which is moderately lit (not dark, not dim, not bright).
