Redrock Micro microShoulderMount Deluxe Bundle

Good Start To A Great Rig
I use this rig for shooting almost everything at the moment, and being light weight you can shoot for hours before really having to put it down. Assembly wasn't too bad but be careful when tightening as you can accidentally strip some of the tread and then you rig will feel loose and play a bit in your hands. Also remember that this is a modular system so you are going to have to buy more pieces to truly get you functionality up to a professional level. Over all it's a good start to a great rig, well built, light weight, and at a good price if you consider it separately.

Quite possibly the worst shoulder rig
The tripod mount makes no sense, and is weak and just all wrong. This shoulder rig was designed very, very poorly. Yes you can use this to mount your cameras on to, but you will spend a lot of valuable time making things right. The handles are weak and slip. Really can't believe people review this thing with high regards. Maybe this is the only rig they've ever used. Invest your money in equipment that functions well and doesn't snap or strip bolts/threads.

Great Shoulder Mount
I bought this mount for use with my NEX-FS100 and it has made run and gun shooting so much easier. The mount is made from quality materials and the shoulder pad I find to be rather comfortable to use. I'm hoping to someday buy a couple accessories for it, such as a follow focus kit and some counter balance weights, but as with all video equipment the costs can be somewhat prohibitive; so for now I am content. I will be shooting a music video and ... Show More

Perfect for dslr use
I looked at a bunch of different shoulder rig options but decided on the Redrock unit and couldn't be more pleased. The lightweight carbon fiber rods create the framework for a multitude of setup configurations. Every component is quality and the rig itself is a must have for professional use. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

Great, but missing essential DSLR piece
Redrock makes wonderful camera rigging equipment. The only problem with this bundle is that it's missing an essential piece to support all of the claims in the info. You need a Redrock DSLR Baseplate, which at this time is another $, to actually mount a DSLR. The people from Redrock claim that this rig isn't for DSLRs, and that is made apparent once you order and have no way of attaching your DSLR camera. However, with the additional piece, it works great and is still cheaper than the rigs that they claim are made for the DSLRs.

Well Done!
I bought this Shoulder Mount to use with my Sony FS-100. After doing a web research I found this system with the best quality-price. Personally I think the all film/video stuff is too expensive, but according with other brands this was my best choice. Don't expect more that you're buying, it's just a well done shoulder mount system, but it's just one part to complete a full studio system.

Great quality with reasonable price
Before using RedRock, I have used many China-made cloned rig. The price is cheap, but the quality is worse. After using RedRock micro, I have to put all cloned rig in rubbish bin. When I am ordering the Redrock micro, I feel it is expensive. After I get the RedRock micro, I am very satisfaction for the quality and design.

DSLR Must Have
Though it is Expensive and sometimes becomes cumbersome to use it really is a must have for handheld shooting on DSLR, especially is you use other attachments that add to your rigs weight or balance. Offers a good amount of space for new attachments and placement of those attachments.

Great product, however, do your research
This product is probably one of the best shoulder mount bundles you can get while not having to get those extra items such as a monitor or follow focus straight from RedRock Micro too. This is the bare necessity for what you should have as an independent filmmaker. You will need to get a base plate separately to mount your camera which is misleading for beginners and if you find your camera setup too heavy, you will also need the counterweight kit. All in all, best product I've bought on this site. Cheers to RedRock Micro!

Worked well first time out
If you're using this with a camcorder, I recommend a second rod clamp so you can move the camera forward. Using a Panasonic HVX200 P2 camera. Shot two projects this weekend. Much steadier than trying to hand hold the camera. Shot two interviews with the shoulder mount and by staying close to subject was able to get steady picture.

Expensive, but relatively effective
I am using the product for independent feature film. I wanted to shoulder mount the camera. Used with Zeiss CP2 primes, which are front heavey, need the counterbalance for sure, I have a HDV 501 tripod, which doesn't seem to accept the shoulder mount, unless you put a plate on it which then defeats the purpose. I found even with a counter balance shoulder pad had to slide forward on the rails to be effective which put the lense changes at risk to... Show More

Tremendous Upgrade
Best shoulder stabilizer or mount that I have owned. Had to order microShoulderMount rod clamp for use with Canon XH-A1 but results I get now are fantastic.

Lightweight yet strong
Bought this as the base for a shoulder rig that was built up with several components on top of this. The goal was to create a rig that could easily support HDSLR and pro-video cameras. Worked out amazingly.

PERFECT for the Nikon D7000
This is a great rig. That being said you have to buy the DSLR baseplate to make this work with a DSLR. It's a couple hundred bucks more but it is worth it. Otherwise this rig is for a camcorder. Make sure to add the micro mount with spud to attach upfront to allow an LCD monitor to sit right in front of your face for easy focus & framing. Marshall makes a great 7 inch HD unit that works perfect with this rig and a Nikon D7000. Also, if you want t... Show More

GOOD Investment for Nikon D7000
I bought the deluxe bundle and added the optional microMount w/Spud to allow connection of a 7 inch Marshall LCD HD monitor. The quality of the parts is evident upon seeing/holding them. The rig goes together easily even for a mechanically challenged person. I found out too late ( should have done more/better research) that in order to attach a DSLR you need the Redrock Micro DSLR Baseplate. So, I ordered that and it is also a quality piece of ge... Good starter for handheld 5D
The shoulder mount deluxe bundle is good as a basic handheld kit for 5D - something like this is essential if you're planning to shoot video on one. The Redrock is well made, and easy to use. I've found it useful to have a few additional redrock accessories to add to this kit - such as a V-lock battery plate mounted on a redrock accessory plate (useful as a counterbalance, and for powering monitors etc), a DSLR baseplate and a cine arm for mounting the monitor.

Essential product, poorly designed
I use this rig for my Canon 7D. It's really hard to get a smooth hand held image without one of these rigs (not necessarily Redrock). However, this company makes some very innovative products for the DSLR craze. Products that make your camera work easier and look better. And it becomes hard to stray away from the Redrock Micro line of camera gear. I was really excited when I got my rig, then really disappointed to find out that the rod clamp was ... Show More

Very well build and designed. I just wish that the accessories were cheaper. I can't wait until EVF would be available because it would cut down on the accessories that I need to buy. Over all awesome tool to have on tripod or hand-held.

great product
I use this product for short films and music videos. Its very strong and very sturdy. I realized after using it with a 2.8 70-200 that the bigger rods and balance system are going to be bought in the near future.

Great Stability, Reasonable Price
I used this to shoot a short film over two days, and I must say that I found very little to complain about. The most common problem I find when shooting with a DSLR is the appearance of micro-vibrations in the footage when shooting hand-held. This device eliminates those micro vibrations almost completely (depending also on the camera operator of course), and allows you to adjust focus mid-shot with reasonable ease. The only thing that is missing... Show More
