Lumix gx85 - It was definitely worth the wait.
I am so happy to finally have this camera. I have had a number of Lumix cameras and still one of my favorites is the GX 1. The GX 85 is really a very close form factor which is what I was looking for along with the advanced 4K video and photo functions. I had owned the GX 8 but found it was just a little too cumbersome as I use a meta-bones Canon EF to micro 4/3 adapter. I use these with my VoigtLander lenses. The GX 85 also works great with the ... Very nice camera
As a long time micro 4/3 user I find this camera to pretty much hit the sweet spot. Sure there are cameras with larger sensors and better image quality, but the image quality is pretty darn good and I have never had anyone say by golly you didn't take that picture with a full-frame camera. Bottomline image quality is very good. The camera is loaded with features like 4K burst. Before buying I thought this was gimmicky, but in practice it works ve... Show More

Fantastic camera for street photography
I love this camera. I bought it as a secondary camera when I don't feel like carrying my GH4. Pros: -The built-in stabilization is fantastic for walking around. I was able to snap photos as I walked that came out sharp. -Love the tones on the new L.Monochrome setting. (Images attached, all straight out of camera) -Electronic shutter is super quiet, and unlike the GH4, the higher ISOs aren't cut off with the silent mode on. -Cons: -I wasn't a fan ... Show More

Great mid-range MFT camera
Purchased this as an upgrade to my trusty GX1. Image quality is improved and the inbuilt IBIS really works great to improve sharpness. I took one star off because the build quality is quite poor compared to GX1 / 7 / 8. The body is very plastic-y and does not inspire confidence. I normally wouldn't mind too much but given it's price, and the current deals on the GX8 it's not a great value. If you want and entry level / casual MFT camera this is great. If you can save a few more pennies and don't mind the extra size grab the GX8 instead.

I bought this camera for UHD video and I'm pleased
I bought this camera for its ability to do UHD video and I'm pleased with the results. Why? 1. One battery in my tested lasted for about 1 hour 19 minutes (USA version) of non-stop UHD video 2. The camera didn't overheat 3. When the camera ran out of battery power it gracefully stopped (produced a single 40+ GB file that was closed properly by the camera software). IMHO that's an excellent behavior for video camera. In addition, IBIS, great, shar... Show More

4K with IBIS in a small bpdy
Initial impressions: Straight out of the box, I was impressed with how solid the camera feels. The shutter is quiet. Perhaps not as quiet as the Olympus E-M5 II but still quiet. Swicth to electronic shutter and the camera is silent. For me, the main attraction of this camera is the IBIS for video. I liked the E-M5 II for its IBIS in video but other aspects of the video quality were a problem, such as moire. The GX85 works very well using IBIS in ... Show More

Great Little Camera
I bought this when B&H had their initial allotment on sale and this is a first impression review, and I am mightily impressed. If you are thinking about buying this camera based on early reviews, you may wondering, Is this camera as good as it looks? My answer is yes. And no one's paying me to say this. First impression out of the box is that it's heavier than I expected, an indication of quality. The camera is solid, feels very well built and it... Show More
