Google Home Mini (1st generation) - Chalk
Not that impressed
I wasn't that impressed with the Google Home Mini. I found it frustrating that I couldn't connect it to use my bluetooth speakers. Google Play Music is also a bit of a pain to use if you don't pay for the premium version. Asking Google for the weather forecast is ok, and getting it to sing happy birthday, but other than that I decided it wouldn't really be used much by us.....so I decided to sell it.

Very Good fun
The sound quality was good enough not to need any extra speaker. Did not take alot of setting up - was quick to get going. Definitely worth the money for what you get.

Good piece of Tech.
Great for having music etc: in different rooms. Quality is ok for it's size. Only downside is if you use google Assistant on your smart phone when you say "OK Google"both react to the command. so you need to switch microphone off on the mini.

Google Home in your home
Great fun for the family, the jokes and quizzes it has are fun, good speaker function for music, nice idea that it learns the longer you have it and more you use it and great that it is linked to our google accounts too. Brilliant item and my son wont stop asking it to tell him jokes lol

Great piece of equipment.....just say "ok google" and ask away.....what is the weather? how do I...??What is the weather forecast? Play music.....set alarms....what time is it? the list is never ending. Nice addition to get answers faster than typing in the question!.....simple to set up and use.....kids love it!

Doesn't take up much space.....
As I don't have a smart home, was very unsure about buying either an Amazon echo thing, or a Google Mini. Spent some time researching both, and decided that a Google mini would be more use for me. I don't need a device to turn my tv on, change channel etc, adjust lighting or central heating, as I can do this myself, but, I do use my google mini for weather, add items to my shopping list, assist with cooking etc play music and tell jokes. I love my Google mini and wouldn't be with out it now.

An excellent aid for all the family use.
Value for money, excellent to assist children with their homework, knowledge extender. All questions answered quickly and efficiently. Was very easy to set up. A great product, fountain of knowledge.

Bought as Xmas present for 17 year old daughter who is enjoying it particularly playing her music, using it as an alarm, and asking it questions, adding items to diary/lists. Whilst it has a lot of functionality much of that functionality works with devices/equipment that are supportive to it - i.e. it cannot turn on room lights unless they are wireless/smart light blubs which themselves are expensive.

Fantastic!
This little gadget is great. It’s compact, fun, useful and the speaker quality is good. It is excellent value for money and I rate it more highly than the Alexa. Also, the online buying and I store collection couldn’t have been easier.

Fun and easy to use.
Bought for Christmas for my teenage son but the whole family got involved and still enjoy it.. Very easy to stream music and podcasts just by asking Google. So impressed I bought another for the living room. Sound quality is good and loud enough to fill the room. My son is now using it as a radio, music player, alarm clock and getting him to tell him jokes.

An Unbelievable Assistant
There are a few types of personal assistants on the market and this one stood out for a few reasons. Really good speaker Easy connection to home WiFi and Home products Small but mighty I can’t believe how easy this is to operate, just ask it any question and it won’t be long before you get an answer.

OK GOOGLE!
Fab piece of kit that we intend to get more of for other rooms! For speed of hearing the news, listening to music, finding out random bits of info. . . Love it!

Google mini is clever
Google mini is great fun., very clever and handy. Can answer most questions and can even.tell jokes! It can play your music all by voice control. Easy to set up.

Google home mini
Bought as a Xmas present for my brother who was fascinated with mine and he appears to love it. Uses it for reminders, alarms, weather and to make animal noises. It can be limited without being able to answer all your questions but will hopefully improve all the times and a very interesting gadget.

Tiny but clever gadget
bought this as a Christmas gift for my son but I actually enjoyed playing with it more than anyone..! It is tiny but clever gadget, makes my teenage son's life so much easier - so he said.. One down side is that sound quality is not as good as (lager) other speaker (i.e. Sonos) but you get what you pay for. But very happy with this so far

Fun GoogleHome
Got this on a bit of a whim as I hadnt done my research but we love it. Kids have it telling jokes and playing games with them, we use it for weather and news updates! Not using it to its full capacity as yet, but we are learning!

Google knows everything
Purchased for my 6yr kid. He enjoys asking his queries to google home, playing music of his choice. He is most happy when he turning off the light at the bed time by voice command, This product has become as a pet for my kid.

Very handy gadget
Really impressed with the Google Home Mini - it’s a great little device for setting timers, reminders, getting the answers to quick questions, playing the radio, spellings, sums, currency conversion... it’ll even tell you a joke if you ask.

Christmas present for my dad.
Christmas gift for my dad who's 73 and loves technology. This is another toy for him to play with and so far we are all impressed! Bought online and collected in-store the same day.

Great little gadget
What is really impressive about these devices is the way they easily understand your voice requests and, because they are powered by Google, they can answer most questions to an impressive extent. I particularly love the way they tune into any radio station you request almost instantly. They look and feel nice and are fine for a bedroom or kitchen. For a larger room, in might be worth getting the full sized version as the speaker would be more powerful.

New family member!

Almost there
I own the bigger brother tooo. Bought this for my bedroom rather than carrying from bedroom to living room. Almost perfect.... hardware is excellent as is most of the software but really not meeting 100% of my needs. The google calendar app only records timed appointments, Dentist 10.30 to 11.30 fine but an all day event willl not register. A real error as Amazon Echo makes a better job of dealing with Google’s own calendar.

So much fun!
If you use google as much as me to answer silly questions that pop in your head throughout the day, then you need this! it’s so much fun for the kids too, you can also play a quiz with it and it links to so many apps. It controls your tv and music.
