Great sound quality and easy to set up

Compact, well designed speaker which is easy to set up and gives surprisingly good sound quality. Thera is a wide range of features available including weather forecast, news, alarms and general queries. When linked to a music streaming service, just about any music track you care to mention is ready to listen to at a moment's notice.

Google Home - It just works!

Voice recognition works very well. It recognises different voices so we can keep different lists and calendars. The sound is good enough for background music. I linked it to a Belkin WeMo power switch so we can turn the ouside christmas lights on and off just by talking to them rather than going out to the shed - strangely enjoyable!

Useful if sounds a little lacking

Useful item for the lounge, good for those little questions that pop up and you want an answer and great for streaming from Spotify and simple to set up. Also great for radio streaming, only issue is that the sounds not great due to heavy bass profile and no way to change equaliser, but it's ok for what it is, would still recommend

Goggle Home is Great

All tho it is expensive it is worth it, I would recommend it to any one with a goggle account especially if you have google play. I have set up an alarm in the morning with it and play music when I get home, I have used everyday since I got it. It works great with the chrome cast as well and makes it easy to put Netflix on my TV.

Easy to connect with great sound!

I bought this for my sister & her family for Christmas. This is such a fantastic bit of tech as for the first time in years, the family all sit downstairs and play the quiz games on the Google together. Its great for asking any questions and the sound quality (for something so small) is AMAZING! Well worth the price and more!

Perfect for our kitchen

We’ve been really impressed as the whole family have quickly found how to get the best from the Google Home speaker. From setting timers during cooking, to reading recipes out and to selecting some music to cook by. So much more practical having once device with no need to scroll or touch screens and move between apps.

Great device

To be honest, I thought the Google Home was going to be a gimmick! But to my surprise, it works very well indeed. I find it very useful for business... I have a guest house, so use it to make reminders to make phone calls etc. It also has the ability to make free landline and mobile calls (within UK) which is a great bonus.

Ever since the original Star Trek TV series I've wanted a computer you can just talk to and have it answer back. Finally this is that dream come true. Being able to do the simplest tasks like asking the time or set a timer to playing radio and podcasts and controlling the Chromecast by voice is fun. She even tells jokes.

Google Home not yet worth it

Much smaller than I thought it would be. I bought it for a visually impaired grand parent but we tried it first and still have it because it not yet good enough to understand everything. You end up getting annoyed shouting shut up when it won't listen to you properly. It is stylish though and sound quality is good.

Google........my little helper!!

Best machine ever. .....She (Google lady) will help you with travel - just ask for next train, bus etc, remember your shopping lists, play your favourite radio or songs, tell you the weather forecast and so much more. An irreplaceable listening companion and great fun for the children. A must have for every family!!

Great gadget

I bought this following my sister receiving this as a Christmas present. Great gadget for asking google information. You do need to make the questions clear and concise but this all comes with practice. My husband loves the fact that he can ask google to put the radio on when he is coming downstairs in a morning

Hey Google, hey alexa. hello banana

my kids are enjoying the sense of humour. a lot easier to talk to compare with alexa. we have both and google home is more natural (hard to talk in english when it is not the first language) my only gripe is the connectivity. when you have disconnected (unplugged) the device. it takes forever to reconnect.

Fantastic piece of kit. Sound quality good too

A good pice from Argos, had a problem with delivery and had to collect, but Argos sorted it. The google home is technically excellent and we use all the time. The speaker is good for tunes. Exciting that it's capabilities will improve with time as new functionality will come from google such as phone calls etc..

Learning more every day.

The more I use this, the more I like it. Easy to set up and connect to my other smart devices like my Nest thermostat. Have also bought the Google Home Mini for upstairs. Sound quality is very good and ‘she’ learns more about me everyday so is getting better at answering my questions. The future is this way!

Not quite fully ready for UK market

My son did his research on this and Amazon Echo and initially went for the Google version even though it was dearer. On getting it home he found that some of the functionality he read about was only available in the USA so was disappointed. He took this back and exchanged it for the echo and is happier with it.

Life changing!

This is amazing! The kids love asking it to play their favourite songs (you need a Spotify account). So useful for news, weather, facts, the list is endless. A must have. I rave about it to anyone who listens :) Sound quality is surprising and beats many speakers considering its size and functions.

Hey Google, tell me a joke....

Great device for both finding out questions and playing music (via my Spotify account). It can also play Netflix via my Smart TV, plus Youtube etc. The phone service on it now is excellent - Hey Google, call Mum... (This is a free service, so maybe good for international calls -I've not tried that yet!)

Loving it.

I'm glad I held out and got this over the other options. Sound quality is good for music playback. I'm in the process of getting more things connected to it so it can only get better. Voice response is very good. I've noticed at times if I use Google on my phone it can answer through this. Highly recommended.

Love it

Bought this for myself, wasn't sure if I would use it to the full potential and still haven't really but I'm getting there, definately get the chrome cast with it, as you can then watch things on tv! You do have to subscribe to some things which is extra money but only if you want to! Makes a nice radio!

Superb

Absolutely fantastic device. News, updates, travel info, music, games, trivia, etc, etc on demand. If you've got a Google account your Google world isn't complete without one. If you haven't got a Google account then get one even if just to use the Home. Much better than Amazon Echo. Highly recommended.

Great item

Easy to set up, phrasing of questions needs to be thought about, but getting the hang of it now. Amazing sound for the size. Amusing, fun and helpful. One of those things that you don't need to have but would not want to give it up now. Online purchase and collection was simple, fast and efficient.

Fun and great item.

Bought this on sale and would recommend it at the sale price. It's unfortunate that in the UK it doesn't have all the facilities that it does in America such as phone calls but it will hopefully get this at some point. It's a fun item and mainly using it for music so far with the occasional query.
