This is one impressive aircraft. I have been using a Phantom 3 4k since it was released and I have always been pleased with its results. Easy to use and reliable
A wind puff destroyed my previous drone from an earlier generation. My old system was GPS equipped and would return if commanded or if it was out for range. You can tell by looking and picking up the product that it is a quality one. It was amazing how small everything packs up. The charger only charges one at a time. You can tell which one is charging by looking at the pulsing green light on the battery. I used an iphone at first, but would recommend you look for an ipad. Great drone for the price
In 3 years since I bought my Inspire 1 drones have come a long way. This Mavic Air is especially impressive. It's very nice to fly and the images are not too bad either. For really smooth filming it's best to dial down the gimbal speed and adjust the gains a bit as these are a bit harsh out of the box. First drone Ive purchased. Was easy to learn - very short learning curve. Onboard camera is equivalent to the quality of a GoPro. Some serious noise in the shadows. Id suggest getting some ND filter attachments since it gets pretty washed out in sunny weather - it only has one aperture at f/2.8 so managing bright sunlight is compensated by shutterspeed. It hurts me to throw down $999 for anything, but this drone totally delivers. The video is amazingly smooth and the obstacle avoidance sensors are sweet. My house is apparently in a No Fly Zone due to the proximity to a major airport, so the Mavic wouldn't even start up the propellers at home knowing this was the case. Youre new drone can not take flight without prior permission through a convoluted unclear third party company hired by DJI. Confirming unlock codes are sent to the phone connected to the DJI controller. Don't get me wrong, the Spark is still a good value. But, 4K, more camera settings, the 3 axis stabilization, 3 batteries instead of 2, the extended range, and faster flight- make this worth the difference.
