finally the perfect headphones
After good experiences with Beats (2 pairs), which were pretty fragile, I came home to Jesus with these Bose headphones. The noise-cancelling part is battery (AAA) powered, but everything else is just mechanical -- no need to charge the headphones themselves, which is a big improvement over my last pair of Studio Beats. Also, the sound on these headphones is as clear and reliable as I have ever heard, in any sound system or headphone. I'm so happy!

2nd pair
This is the second Bose noise cancelling headphones I've bought and they've been great. I picked them based on the Consumer Reports ratings. However, if you put the headphones in a box and the cat pees on them, they don't work too well after that.

Sound quality awesome
only reason i can't give five stars is sometimes I have to twist the wire in the headphone to get sound in both ears :( once it's working though daaaaaaaaaamni be vibin

Noise canceling is great 4 Stars - sound muddy 1 Star
These are very useful to create quiet atmosphere while flying. I find that I arrive more rested after a 12+ hour flight if I wear them. However, the sound quality is VERY poor. My personal solution is use Shure earbuds with these headphones on top plugged into nothing but noise cancelling turned on. Good sound. Good noise cancellation. But what can't BOSE come up with a pair that reproduces good sound?

Not Happy With the QC25
Bought these to replace my QC15's that are getting long in the tooth but bulletproof. That said I had high expectations for the QC25's boy was I disappointed the right earpiece cut out the second time I used them a poor connection in the jack that plugs into the headphones caused intermittent connection problems any little movement would cause problems so they are being returned having had them less than a week. I hope the QC 35s are a better build I will hold on to my QC15s till the reviews are in on that model.

Wow, surprised at how good they are
Granted, my old (other brand) NR headphones were aging, failing, but they were never as good as the Bose QC 25. I am totally happy with their effectivity.

Excellent sound and out of this world noise cancellation
I love my QC25's. The sound is excellent and the noise cancellation is out of this world. The noise cancellation works well even when running noisy equipment. My only concern is durability. The headphones seem to be made fairly cheaply so I don't know how they will hold up. On the plus side, they are very comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time. Another great product from Bose which I can recommend.

Great Noise Canceling - so far
I just got my pair - two weeks. So far, so good. Excellent noise cancelation, good quality product. It might be a bit uncomfortable after two or three hours on your head because of the pressure, but hopefully I will get use to it. In any event, it is a trade off I'm willing to make.

Best I've tried so far!
I have a few sets of really nice phones/buds but needed something to dull the outside noise so I can work with light background music drowning out what seeps through normal over ear phones. These sound pretty good with the noise filter on, with it off it's a little muddy but still sounds fine. The noise canceling works pretty well but not bullet proof, it most definitely makes the intolerable, tolerable and beyond. Bottom line: totally satisfied with my purchase and if blocking unwanted noise is your priority (over audiophile sound quality) you won't be disappointed.

Cocoon myself in comfortable quietness
... and concentrate on my work even when people all around are talking. This pair of headphones are very comfortable to wear. I have a big head so most headphones will either not reach both of my ears or clamp my head tight. This pair simply hugs my ears and seal them in. Put a quarter in silence
I use these to mow my lawn and whenever I fly. Great invention and these are particularly nice sounding when I plug in my ipod. Also very comfortable.

Excellent sound quality, very comfortable
I use these headphones at home and when flying. The sound quality is excellent and they are very comfortable to wear. They cocoon the listener extremely. No exterior sound is audible. They disassemble and pack away into a case that is very manageable.

Works well. Wish the ear cups were a little bit more comfortable for extended use. Wish the battery compartment lid were more straightforward. Wish it weren't so tedious to fold into the zippered case. These are not complaints I would make at a lower price point but I believe they are warranted at this price point.

Comfortable and Quite
These headphones give excellent sound quality. I work in a noisy office, but rarely put the headphones to noise canceling-they are that good. My only negative is I wish the cord was longer, but it is the same length as other headphones. These are definitely worth the money.

Great product
This product does what it advertises. They are comfortable and they reduce ambient noise very effectively. I purchased this unit to replace a pair of Bose 25s that were a few years old that were stolen from a hotel baggage check room. I have no reservations in recommending this product and the sound is very acceptable.

A peaceful airplane ride, great music (Beethoven piano)
Plane headed to Las Vegas on the way to Oregon and a large group of revelers got on. I was able to block out their loud chatter and hear gorgeous music. Made the 6 hours so much more bearable. The headset is fantastic at blocking noise and playing music.

Sooth the airplane experience.
For outside sounds, the earmuffs block high frequencies, while electronics quiet low frequencies, leaving voices sounding thin and distant. Soothing on an airplane unless you have a talkative neighbor.

The best headphones
6 stars. Great Bose headphones. If I could assign 6 stars I would. The sound range is remarkable with great base and high pitch crispness. They cancel out jet cabin noise and unwanted background chatter much better than my ageing Bose QC 2. Comfortable on my ears and compact and the AAA battery last a good while. Simply the best.
