This includes everything to start out with digital recording in a box. 502 Mixer to mix several sources together (wish it was the 802 though). A XM8500 dynamic microphone which sounds pretty good. HPM1000 headphones are lower middle range. And most importantly the UCA200 USB sound card which has drivers available from Behringer for Win XP to 7 64bit (I definitely recommend the drivers online even though it will work without them). There are also cables and a desk mic stand included. In my opinion as a packaged deal if you have no pro equipment and want to play with some you really can not go wrong with this package. For a complete podcast solution it is lacking mostly in the mixer chosen should be at least the 802 for Skype connectivity without separating channels for dual mono (mix minus using aux). The UCA200 or its series is the best in price class 16 bit USB sound card for recording (much recommended). The microphone actually impressed me with the sound. The microphone cable is very short only about 4 foot long from end to end but a longer one can be purchased. Overall a good purchase for the price. ... More

I purchased this to use for podcasting. I had been using gaming headphones directly into the computer and wanted to upgrade to more professional equipment. However, on a small budget, I was limited to this product and the Technical Pro PM-21. This one is a little more expensive than the Technical Pro kit, but has many more positive reviews and write-ups.Behringer put everything you need in this kit to get started podcasting, voice over recording, etc. The dynamic microphone and mixer produce crisp clear voice recordings and the USB interface is simple to use. If you have a Windows 7 64 bit computer, you will need to go to Behringer's website to get the driver needed for the USB interface. Once installed the interface acts as a sound card, and all you need to do is change your windows settings to look at the USB interface as your default sound card and you are good to go. I have made a few recordings so far, and this kit has replaced all of the sound equipment that was previously connected to my computer. .... You may want to get a windscreen for 1-5/8 diameter microphone to reduce breathing sounds that the mic may pick up. ... More

I set out to make audio book out of the novel I wrote. As a former radio station manager, I can tell you that the equipment included in Podcast Studio is excellent and the support from Behringer has been above average. Problem is Windows 8 refuses to cooperate in adding an additional sound product without giving you a hassle. Podcast studio worked fine, but I was unable to hear the final result of the recording without headphones because my external sound was dismantled...I'm working on the problem now.

I bought this for use in creating e-Learning modules. I was tired of the poor quality you would get out of a cheap computer headset and needed something that really made my voice sound clear and crisp. This unit does the job. I have recorded a number of on-line tutorials and demos using this for sound and there's a lot to like about it. Fidelity, control, portability, and ability to expand. If I wanted to mix in additional audio it would be pretty easy. After switching jobs I bought another and the results are equally consistent. Remember this -- it's easier to downsample (to a lower bitrate) an audio clip that was well-captured. This means lower data rates and therefore lower transmission costs. The only downside is that there are a lot of wires around when you use this, so you have to watch out for tangles. ... More

THe USB mixer is worth the cost of the package alone, I've used this for 5 months to produce weekly podcasts and it works acceptably. The microphone should have come with a windscreen, as it easily picks up popped words with P and T in them and overdrives the audio. I added the windscreen myself and it works well. The headphones are fine for their purpose. Audacity is the shareware software of choice, after trying Sound Studio and Garageband for Mac. The editing is easy and effects like normalize, fades, etc can be easily accomplished. It will export the .AUD files to MP#, or with a simple free download from another source, export as .WMA which will stream from Firefox and other browsers cross-platform. All in all, with the B&H price $40 less than any of the competition, I'm more than satisfied with my purchase. ... More

I purchased the Behringer Podcast USB Studio from B&H Photo primarily to use to record digital piano performances onto my Windows XP laptop computer...I will also use the unit to record my collection of vinyl records to the computer. The mixer and USB interface worked very well connected to my Roland Digital piano, as did the headphones and the mike although they were on the low end as far as quality is concerned...I really have no use for the mike as I do not intend to podcast...Overall I couldn't be more pleased with the studio...It does exactly what I was looking for and I have made some home excellent piano recordings that produce quality CD's. It was well worth the money in my situation and I am very pleased! ... More

Was worried that by buying a Beginner kit I would waste money learning... I am very pleased with my purchase and it is meeting and exceeding all expectations. As I grow my show and need to expand my equipment, I will definitely upgrade to another Behringer system through B&H...

Initally I used this for podcasting and quickly realized the significance of getting the software off the website with windows 8.1 compatability. Now that that is done I need the 1202 version of the mixer in order to expand the podcasts to have in studio guests. However, this is a great starter product

I work at a campus ministry and we were interested in recording our Wednesday night bible classes. This product does just that. We use a wireless lapel mic to pick up the audio. This product worked excellent straight out of the box. Recommended for anyone who wants a simple solution to podcasting.

I use this product to produce professional voice-overs. It is easy to use and very well made. B&H has the lowest price and the newest version which now has phantom power (48V)- very important to me since I use a condenser mic with this unit. The mic that is included is a great all around well made mic. I only wish the XLR mic cord was longer but this kit is jam-packed with quality and value. Thanks a Million B&H!!!

I originally bought a Technical Pro PM-22 podcast kit and it was complete trash. So I sent it back and got one of these. The difference is like night and day. Not only did it work out cheaper than the PM-22 (even though I had to buy a second mic, stand and cable seperately), this unit functions flawlessly. No noise, no interference and excellent sound quality. If you're after a podcast bundle, you can't do any better for the price and you get a lot more than you pay for.

My voiceover teacher recommended this product to our class, and he also told us that we could get it at a great price from B&H. He was absolutely correct! I am going to now buy one for my friend. who will be taking the voiceover class in a couple of months. Thank you B&H!

I am very impressed with this kit. It has certainly surpassed my expectations. All I did was connected per the instructions and everything worked. I didn't have to load any drivers manually for the USB interface. And I am more than happy with the audio quality from the mic and the headphones.

Easy to set up, even without directions; but the production value is only okay! Don't have a desk lamp nearby, you get buzzing noise, or even having your computer on the same desk as your equipment, you may get 'clicking;' BUT it is a good starter set ... to get going and to see if you can do it yourself. Later you can upgrade, but what do you expect for less than $100??

I bought the Podcastudio to do a few projects in conjunction with Garage Band. I like that I can mix other sound sources with the Mic and can use it for more than just podcasting. I was a little disappointed that it requires a separate interface (provided) to connect to my computer as it adds to the clutter in the workspace. Overall the pros outweigh the cons and I am glad I purchased it.

I bought this for my husband who has experience in the music industry and wanted something to have at home so he doesnt have to keep bugging other people to use their studio. I THOUGHT this would be perfect...if it worked. He cant seem to get the software working on our Mac computer. Plus it took a couple of days to adjust and tweak the microphone and sound problems. And for the first time in his life he went step by step through along with the manual and still nothing. He's very disappointed and so am I. Thanks a lot Behringer, I lost mad cool points for this one. ... More
