Sounds Great

Jul 25, 2012

I'll be using this mic setup for interviews and other video work. I'm very impressed with the sound quality. The included mic is great, but will not eliminate all ambient noise. But subjects do stand out from the background even in very noisy environments like busy streets. The seem solidly built and the shoe mount for DSLR type cameras works perfectly.

Terrible

Small office interview. DSLR, professional lights, Zoom H4N. Never got it to work without interference noise. Had to switch to wired lav. instead. May work outdoor - don't know.

Great little equipment for productions. Sound quality os good and teh quality of the equipment is good eanought. I am surporced that this unit cost this little because it sounds really good. Just pay attention there is no walls in between of the transmitter and receiver.

Great system on a shoestring budget!

Feb 23, 2012

I bought this additional system to use in taping an at home cooking show with two people cooking. I now own identical cameras, wireless mic systems, and other accessories to match. That will encourage me to use both wireless systems on a shoot. Its sensitive and does a great job gathering sound for a mono system. The one thing I wish this system had was a less sensitive microphone, or a sensitivity control to inhibit all the extra noise that come... Show More

Unusable

Aug 24, 2011

I was really excited after reading the reviews for this mic. The day it arrived and I tested it out for the first time, it worked wonderfully- no interference or problems of any kind. I thought, Wow, this is so great for the price! The next time I tried it out a few days later (when it was down to the wire and I had a shoot the very next day), it was nothing but VERY LOUD static. It was horrible on both channels. I even got into my car and drove ... Show More

One Dimensional

I have used this lavalier system for some pretty simple interviews with artists and designers. I have also used it for better sound in the field when working with actors. It is much better when it is used for the sit down interviews. So far, all that I like about it is the fact that it's light weight and durable. The sound quality it picks up is also pretty good. What I don't like is the fact that it seems to only record in mono. It's wireless range is 5 feet at best (without any static or interference), and it doesn't have a way to signal the battery power. All in all... meh.

Quality, Quality Product

I am a videographer and use this product to pick up audio at weddings. Before owning this lavalier system, I was always trying to boost the audio from the internal mics. Bad idea. These mics have stepped up the game for all my future weddings and I'm thankful I made such an investment!

Get's the job done.

I use this mic with a Canon Vixia HF-S21 (same as the first reviewer) and have excellent results with it. The sound is clear and it's very good at not capturing ambient noise. I have not experienced the issues that the other reviewer has so far. My only gripe would be that the transmitter is rather large, not always easy to hide on the person speaking.

Poor Lavalier System

Feb 10, 2011

I use this lavalier system with a Canon Vixia hf s21. Physically separating the audio component from the video component really opens a lot of doors for shooting techniques. However, this particular system has poor sound quality and performance. There is a constant humming on all channels. The signal gets choppy at about 10+ yards. The microphone pops and cracks with the slightest movement.
