Cheap product, cheap quality

Jul 2, 2012

I used this product for a wedding, I put the mic on the officiator and it wasn't very far from the camera. There was a lot of static pops and interference. That might not have been a problem if there were more channels to choose from? However, it is one the most inexpensive mics I've seen, but I would recommend spending more.

Great SOUND

Jun 19, 2012

This mic is just what I was looking for as a backup. I put it to use when my main mic would not function. It was a windy day and I wraped it in rabbit fur to cut the wind sound. Even with the rabbit fur on it, I was surprised at the clear sound I heard when editing that days shoot. Great for the price and for my use. Might even use it as my main and order another gor backup

Satisfied Thus Far

May 25, 2012

I was not excited when I opened the box but as I looked at the equipment closer I was satisfied. I think this is a great basic wireless mic system. When I tried it out I hear a lot of static in my head piece and was like uh oh... However the sound was clear on tape when I went out and used it for the first time. So I am very happy. Worth every penny.

Does what expected

May 24, 2012

I bought this item to record the audio component of a presentation I was filming. The audio was coming through a pa system at the same time, so an on camera mic would have picked up the amplified sound - not desirable. The lapel mic worked great - providing an interference free natural sounding signal. The headphone jack also gave me the ability to monitor the signal.

D.O.A. lavalier did not work

May 14, 2012

I wanted to to use this with my Nikon D7000, but out of the box the lav mic did not work. I tested it directly on my Zoom H2 and the d7000 and still did not work. The wireless transmitter and receiver worked. The return procedure of B&H was flawless. It arrived by UPS at 9:30am. After discovering it was DOA and a call to B&H, by 10:30am I had it in the hands of UPS for a return trip to B&H. In three days I had a refund to my account for the purchase price. I had to eat the shipping. But that's normal.

Can't beat the Quality & Price!

Apr 5, 2012

I have been using this Audio-Technica System now since 2005 and just added this TwinMic System. Now I have multiple Mics available and I have never encountered a problem with Audio with their Transmitter and Receivers. I use different Pro Mics, Lavs etc. but the ATR's work good as well. Overall for the price, you can't beat it!

You get what you didn't ask for

I must admit, I was very enthusiastic about ordering my Azden Wireless system for my video shoots. Being a small business, I tried to save money and saw that the Azden was in my price range.I read mixed reviews about it at quite a few sites, and B&H was in the same ball park price wise, so I called them with every intention on sounding like I knew exactly what I wanted, and was about to order the Azden, when I decided to humble myself, and ask for... Great microphone, low price!

Mar 7, 2012

I bought this mic a few weeks ago, the sound is very clear, no static. Do not hesitate to change the frequency from A to B between the transmitter and the receiver. One could perform better than the other in your environment. Would be five stars but: the devices are a little too big, the batteries doors are difficult to open, hand held microphone produce noise when manipulate. Highly recommended.

Really Cheaply Made

Feb 15, 2012

Hey all.. Ok so i read all of the reviews about how cheap this mic was / made... well that are all true.. I understand its less then 200 bucks, but its made like it should cost 50.00$$. The sound is good i had no problems with that, if you move it ever so little it messes up and crackles.. I am going to keep it as I am not intrested in spending 500 bucks for a mic i use just for youtube.. I wish there was a middle of the road mic that didnt cost a ton...

Incredibly Useful, Great Value

Jan 11, 2012

I have used the ATR288W for videos for over a year and a half now. It is a very useful wireless mic system for creating videos for the web. I have used it with Kodak Zi8 and Panasonic GH2 cameras, both of which have female jack inputs for audio, which syncs to the video. The wireless system works beautifully with the included lavalier mic. One tip is to get the lavalier as close to the speakers mouth as possible to minimize hiss.

Bang For Your Buck

I use this for simple interview type videos and it is just perfect. Worked great running it into my Tascam DR-07 MK II external recorder. The sound was clean and quiet, no noise The A-B channel are all you need for this type of filming. You can get a pretty decent distance with it also. If you are in the market for an entry-level wireless mic system, the Audio-Technica ATR288W can't be beat.

Functional yet could be better

Dec 11, 2011

It does what I need it to do, mainly capture audio while I am speaking at the front of a room during a seminar to the video camera in the back of the room. However, as others have already noted, if there is anything in between you and the camera such as a wall or solid object the audio degrades and there is a lot of fuzz in the recording. You must have a clear line of site. The only other issue I have is the fact that they did not include a power adapter with the receiver. What good is having the power jack if they don't provide you with the part?

So far so good

Sep 15, 2011

I think that the wireless system is great for a small budget production. Dollar for dollar, the system works great. There are some limitations with the system including: range, having only 2 channels, etc. But overall, I am very satisfied with the result from the wireless system.

You get what you pay for

Sep 5, 2011

You should not expect much if you buy this wireless microphone system. My cordless phone, for example, has far greater range. The range is extremely poor, works no more than six feet before you start to hear static. Both channels I found, were static prone even at extremely short distances. The bottom line: This product is a toy and for amateur applications, not professional ones. If you want decent range and power, consider the sennheiser products.

Great for to-be professionals

May 25, 2011

Great gear, very cheap and reliable. Be aware, you need to use it with caution. Always have someone operating the camera and monitoring the sound if you dont want to have an headache after the use. The equipment is almost always reliable, but you need to be careful not to apply pressure on any connection and make sure the receiver is well positioned to receive the transmitter signal. If you dont have a budget and want to record videos without worrying with cables and with style, this is a must.

Inexpensive Wireless Audio

I use this to have audio constant with the walking and talking while filming. Easy to use. The need for more universal hot shoe mounts or a bracket to mount to side of the camera or a bracket for the tripod mount, when using a camera mounted light
