I bought this solely for swimming but have not had a chance to go to the pool yet, just around the house. The sound is good; not amazing. Don't buy this if you don't already have a lot of mp3 songs saved on a computer to transfer it to the device. I would've preferred an mp3+bluetooth version for pool use and regular life use even if it had cost more (bluetooth doesn't work in water and Spotify is more of a phone and bluetooth thing since you can't transfer songs to a mp3 player like this).
