Can't go wrong!

Aug 13, 2016

Bought these as an on ear solution for mixing audio in the Texas heat. They're also great for watching television and movies. Good, crisp audio. Light weight and pretty durable without needing to spend too much money. Softies Cloth Ear Covers Small DO NOT fit these.

Some of the best headphones Ive used

Jul 15, 2016

Solid well ballanced sound having extended but true bass response. Very comfortable to wear, some say a little boxy in sound but whats expected of a closed back pair of headphones. Very robust. Highly recomended.

Top Spec Headphones, Banned in the EU, I had to Brexit!

Jul 11, 2016

I bought a pair of Sony MDR-7509HD 5 years ago funnily enough from B&H and they're still my favourite cans I own and I own lots, Pro - DT770, HD25:1ii, 7506, SE846 Focal Spirit Pro (bad can) lots more blah blah and consumer headphones like Beats - they all have different uses t's all overkill really and I intend to downsize this obsession but as an allrounder the MDR7520 is fantastic, I bought two pairs as incase it's discontinued like the the 75... Good product

Jul 9, 2016

Not a recording pro, I bought this model to monitor recordings of non-musical low frequency sources in noisy environment. Good isolation of outside noise, clean reproduction of lows was all I was looking for. This model won my testing over competitors in the same price range. Closed back design would not be my first choice for music listening. But at this price the 7520 will have to do the double duty.

Accurate & comfortable

May 16, 2016

I have given these to directors & producers to hear audio in video village for 20 years. They are reasonably durable, comfortable to wear for long periods and incredibly high output & accurate reproduction for such small drivers. Cheap enough that you don't worry too much about getting lost or broken.

A great closed back headphone

Mar 29, 2016

Using the cans for monitoring my fender rhodes, recording/mixing and general listening and they are my new favorite headphones for sure. As someone who used the 7506 for years, and will still continue to do so, I am happy to have a new option. As read in other reviews before I made the purchase, they can be perhaps too clean on the low end but I enjoy hearing everything as best as possible. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great new headphone.

Good long cord, poor construction

Mar 23, 2016

I really like the longer cord and the screw on 1/4 adapter so I can use it on professional field gear. After 3 months part of the headband failed, so it fully extended until one ear fell off. I tried to fix it properly to no avail, but tape seems to hold it together just fine, so now I'm working with taped up headphones. Still there are not many options with the long cord and 1/4 plug so I'm sticking with these.

Fantastic Headphones For Monitoring

Mar 23, 2016

I personally use this product for monitoring my guitars while recording in my home studio. The main reason I purchased this was because a few of my friends who do a lot of studio work use them and swear by the for being some of the most neutral sounding over-ear headphones they have ever used. I can honestly say that they were right on the money. These Sony MDR-7520 headphones blow my Sennheiser HD280 Pros out of the water, and I swore by the Sennheisers for years. I honestly can't say that there is much that isn't so great about this product because it truly has knocked my socks off.

functions as advertised

Feb 26, 2016

I use this product for home studio recording and mix downs, since I live in an apartment I rarely play music on speakers, so I needed headphones that reproduced a wide range of frequencies from lows to highs & these headphones gave me a better range than some of the lower priced headphones I have, which helps in equing mix downs. It does add some coloration on the low end but not too much, bottom line I would recommend this product for the price.

Great Sound, Great Price!

Feb 8, 2016

I use this for professional audio mixing, film shoots, and listening to music and it's great for it's price. My ears are pretty small so they just on top of them, but the size could be increased.

Comfortable, affordable, good quality

Feb 4, 2016

I mostly listen to spoken word recordings and the fidelity is good. While editing or recording video, I sometime have the headphones on for hours. On a hot and humid day they do get sticky. They are very affordable and I own three pairs that I keep in different locations.

The only pair of cans you will ever need

Jan 25, 2016

I've been thinking of investing in a pair of quality headphones for a few years now, and I'm truly grateful I took the plunge. After finding these cans were unavailable in the EU (due to power requirements) I decided the next best place was B&H, as @ US did not deliver to Ireland. B&H pre-calculated and took care of all duties and import taxes on my behalf which made purchasing even easier.Headphone Review:The headphones have magnesium cup design ... Show More

Jan 5, 2016

I love these new Headphones and almost always buy Sony for my video/sound needs. This unit replaced my personal Sony headphones that I bought in the 80's. They were still working but I wanted to upgrade after all these years. I have all kinds of Sony products and have never been disappointed.

Great Sound but Mechanically Noisy

Aug 14, 2015

As a looong time Sony headphone user for location film sound and studio voiceover, I have used the 7506, the 7509, and splurged on these 7520. The sound is accurate, full, and terrific. Best I have ever owned. BUT...I record audiobooks and have found these make a lot of mechanical, plastic-on-plastic noises as I move my head...or even just my jaw...and the mic picks it up, necessitating pickups and editing. Bigger Drivers Make a Difference

Jul 21, 2015

For comparison I used my Sony MDR-7506 which I use for studio recording and my Turtle Beach XO Seven gaming headphones. The 7520 are awesome. They retain the great sound quality of my 7506 but are louder with more bass but not a booming, artificial bass. Compared to my gaming headphones they are about the same in volume but aren't as colorful which is what makes these great for audio recording. The fit is comfortable but tighter than my 7506 head...
