Small and that is about it
Like most users I wanted something better than my iPhone and smaller than my 5D. I wanted to keep it in my go bag all the time so I would have something for that special shot that just happens. The image quality is good, better than the phone, but nowhere near my DSLR. It is heavy and slow to do almost everything. For $ you wold expect a manual. And to a DSLR, C100 shooter this camera is not at all intuitive. Can't do much without digging down via layers of menus. Video quality is good. So it may serve my basic need, but it is not a tool for the professional.

Best little pocket P&S
I've owned the RX100 III and IV now, both are very similar externally but the improvements are great on the IV. I generally use it for travel and find the direct sharing to my iPhone very convenient, so much so that I no longer use the iPhone camera whenever possible. I wish it had the old hotshoe for accessories, and looked a bit more vintage. The selfie mode is great, however, just like on the previous model. I'll keep using this until I get my full-frame camera someday!

Great travel camera
Took this to a recent trip to Hawaii with great results. The IQ is outstanding and the portability is what you would expect. I recommend this camera

Pocketable Powerhouse!
Traded up from the RX100 II and the upgrade was worth every penny. IQ is excellent and enjoying the the extra wide angle lens. However, miss the 100mm reach of the RX100 II. Low-light results are amazing. The EVF is a real plus in bright light situations. 4k video is great and looking forward to making creative vids with the slo-mo feature. Wish the battery lasted longer, so getting a backup is a must. Also, get the Sony grip and the Vello LCD Sc... Show More

A perfect pocket camera
Like most of us that shop at B&H Photo, I have a decent SLR and a battery of lenses. In addition a baby Leica pocket camera and a Canon G15. So why this camera? Answer: It has features that make it too irresistible. To list my favorites: An electronic viewfinder that shows the actual picture making ISO, speed and/or lens opening choices easy in difficult conditions. Built in wifi that allows quick transfers to my cell phone so that vacation shots... Show More

PERFECT FOR MACRO
I have a Canon G1X with a Canon underwater housing. I bought it not intending to do macro, because I know it's not good for that. On a recent dive trip, I borrowed a friend's Sony RX 100 and I immediately bought it and a FantaSea housing when I got home. I got some amazing images with this camera, and didn't have to spend much time fiddling with controls to get them. Fantastic camera and housing!

The best copact camera
I couldn't imagine that this camera can get me like this, amazing quality, easy to use, I bought this camera for everyday use specially for family and kids , the only problem is that you never can use 4K video for more than 5min, If i knew i would definitely buy Sony Rx Mark iii

Awesome little camera
I must stress this upfront. This camera is REALLY small and portable. That being said for its size...its truly remarkable. If you love your dslr or mirrorless but find that you tend to leave your gear behind because of the hassle, you will live this camera. The HFR recording is a neat party trick. i wish the 240 rate was true HD but Im nitpicking here. The 4k footage looks great and crisp. It doesn't have have all the features you would ned for b... So far, seems like a great little travel camera
Very light and small, good for travel. Comparing it to my Sony A7, while's it's not a full frame camera, the low-light shots are very good (though, not as good as the A7), the auto focus is quick and accurate, the zoom is a little too responsive (which it was a bit slower), is missing some minor menu features (but nothing that can't be worked around). The viewfinder is adequate. Shutter lag seems to be minimal.

Small and to the point
I use this camera as a behind-the-scenes video camera. What I think makes this a great product is the size. Along with some slow motion that looks great at 240 frames.

Love this camera!
I got this camera for taking pics and videos in the Galapagos in February. I am fairly new to photography, but I am finding the RX100M4 very user-friendly. Nice size (actually pocketable), amazingly sharp and true images, excellent viewfinder AND LED, and wi-fi. Looking forward to making 4k videos of iguanas and blue footed birdies next month. NOTE: will take extra batteries--battery life is not great.

Best compact camera...EVER!
Hard to believe that I am able to carry around such a fine camera in my pocket. Incredible in low light with full control capabilities. Perfect for street photography.

excellent but pricey
I decided to upgrade from the RX100 MK3, was it worth it,,, yes and no. the biggest reason I upgraded was for added responsiveness. this camera is faster without a doubt, especially when shooting a moving object. so for me the upgrade was worth it. the 4k option is cool to have, but more of a added bonus for me. the slowmo I don't really care for. if any of the above aren't of interest to you then stick with the M3 and wait for the M5, or hopeful... I take this camera on Trip and shooting family pictures and gatherings, you cannot tell this is a small compact camera again my old DSLR camera. I think the picture are much better. I do not think I would ever go back to a DSLR camera.

Great travel camera and backup for my A7R2
I'd give it 5 starts excecpt for one notable item that I didn't realize until after purchase -- there is No Audio input on the camera. Otherwise it's a fantastic little camera for both Stills and Video. I haven't post-processed the images but based on my experienc with Sony the results should be stellar. I'm most excited about how small it it while still taking full RAW photos in a Zeiss lens with stabilization! This will be our primary pocket ca... Show More

Marvelous
I will be using it for candids and scenes. I find it fast with excellent lens quality. It would be good if the battery charge lasted longer. The camera far exceeds my expectations, and I plan to do my best to wear it out.

Loved the II but the IV is even better
I always thought that the 2 was the best point and shoot I have used and the 4 is even better. I shoot on raw and the clarity of both macro and portrait shots is great. The lens flair from shooting into sunlight is reduced on this new lens.

Your side kick
Having such power that can fit in your pocket is quite impressive. You must buy this because the image results are outstanding. The video mode is perfect for bloggers.

Nice compact camera albeut expensive
Takes great images and videos. Able to carry this around in my cargo pants pocket. Get a spare battery if you take a lot of videos. If you buy the Sony attachment grip, you won't be able to use the Sony camera case unless you attach the grip to the case itself.

Compact, excellent IQ, short battery life
I went from a Lumix LX-5 to this Sony. The difference is not night and day, but the photos are markedly sharper and the auto WB more intelligent (with LR correction) than the LX-5. with the addition of a grip, this is an excellent size, and it fits well in a LowePro Napoli 30 case. I had also considered the Lumix LX-100, and fell in love with the controls (so intuitive for someone who grew up with a Nikon FM-2!) but it was just a little too large... Show More

Sony RX100 IV
As a pocket camera, this camera can't be beat. It has an EVF, tilt LED and target focus along with a one inch sensor that creates amazing images.

Pocketable workhorse
I got this primarily for a research project that needs 960FPS video (which is a tad awkward to use, but of quite high quality). The RX100IV has the most advanced sensor tech in a consumer camera, and the high-speed video isn't the only benefit. I have a variety of Sonys, including a NEX-7 and an A7II, and the RX100IV's more advanced (but smaller) sensor doesn't beat them for stills, but it isn't as far behind as one might expect. Dynamic range is... Show More

Compact Camera that can do EVERYTHING
I upgraded from the RX100 M1 to this RX100 M4, and I do not own a DSLR. I use Lightroom 6 for raw stills, After Effects for time-lapse, and Final Cut Pro X for video. I have a baby, travel frequently, and aspire to one day upload something to Vimeo at the run & gun caliber of Watchtower of Turkey, Loving Lanka, or anything Brandon Li. That is the basis for my review. For the simple fact that this camera can do EVERYTHING I want it to do in my poc... Show More
