Amazing Little Camera!
As someone who has made a living from photography for over 30 years, I was more than impressed with the abilities of this pocket camera. It can't do everything but what it does do, it does extremely well. The zoom is a bit short but it makes up for that in other areas such as great close ups and a champ in low light! The colors and contrast of the jpegs are so good that I find that I need to little or nothing to the files after taking the photos!!

Great camera
The RX-100 III is an outstanding point and shoot camera. The image quality is extremely good and its low light capability is excellent. The battery is a little slow to charge through the camera. The camera is small so it is important to use the wrist strap for safety. The settings are not hard to use, but it does require some time to study how to use the controls properly. I really like the EVF.

Love the size
Build quality feels like a pro camera. Small enough to put in a pocket. Haven't taken enough photos to really get used to the features / settings I like, but so far I am more than happy with the image quality for a camera this size.

Nice size, not so nice conrols
I bought this to travel with, and carry on a daily basis -- and it is easy to do that, compared to my mirrorless. The photo quality is good, and I'm a big supporter of Sony usually, but I'm a little disappointed with the user experience on this camera. My main complaint is that I didn't realize just how much I would miss the touch screen (never had a camera without one). The auto focus isn't good enough to forego a fast, easy touch-to-focus optio... Show More

Great Little Camera
I use it as a pocket point-and-shoot, when I don't want to (or can't) lug around my DSLR. For that, it's an excellent performer. I typically leave it in automatic mode...I don't care about it's DOF, and I don't try anything artistic with it (i.e. macro or long exposure). I use it mostly for traveling and hiking because it takes up no backpack space. If I were to encounter a photogenic opportunity while hiking, as long as the subject is not too fa... Show More

very satisfed
Great compact camera. I use it for family event photos and outing when a DSLR is too bulky to bring along. Great for when travelling light as well. Love the functionalities packed into this compact camera. Decent bokeh achieved and fast lens. Love the pictures produced in low light situation. Wish it could be a little slimmer. Price point is not so great as well. Canon just released the G7X which is similar but $ cheaper.

So Glad I Bought This Camera
I manage social media for a busy natural horsemanship barn, so aside from recruiting my hubby with his DSLR and big wonkin' lens, I ride around with a camera in my pocket a lot. At the barn, on the trail, on the beach during annual group camps there that camera works and needs to pop out of my pocket and work with one hand. Tired of great shots with not-so-great results, I bought the RX100 III so I could take RAW photos, grab video on the go, and... Show More

good and the bad
Bad: Just purchased and the movies and photos from my vacation are marred by sensor dirt. Sony wanted me to pay for the shipping of the camera for cleaning, which just adds insult to injury. Camera is hard to hold as the surface is smooth and slippery. I purchased the added paste on grip and this helped a little, but the camera really needs something added to it to be able to hold onto it. Menu system has some problems, but most can be fixed by d... Show More

GREAT Pocket Camera and much more
Having carried large cameras and gear for a long time, I just got tired. I always wished there was a high quality camera that is small enough to carry around on a daily basis, without sacrificing features and image quality. So.... I bought the camera 2 weeks ago, and am very impressed. Great images and video, relatively easy to learn the functions. If you don't need a selection of lenses with you, this camera might just do the job. Unless you have small hands, you will have to get used to the small size, but I quickly got used to the compact size.

Cumbersome ...wrong buttons pushed
Sony engineers have taken an awesome product, Version I, and made an interface that is nearly unusable. If you accidentally touch one of the six protruding buttons on the rx-100 III, you will find the camera in one of 68 different modes (up to three menus deep) and/or making unintended camera adjustments to the camera settings. Each mode requires a different sequence to get the camera ready to shoot again. The 37 page user manual is utterly worth... Show More

Incredible pocket-power
I own a Canon 5D3 with several L-glass and use that primarily along with the Sony RX1R. Sometimes I only travel with the RX1R and leave the DSLR behind, it's image quality is incredible, certainly on par with the 5D3 and a premium lens, given the pairing of the Zeiss 35mm f/2.0. I bought the RX100 III to supplement travel, and make sure I always had something that was incredibly capable with excellent IQ. I've tried other point and shoots in the ... Show More

excellent little camera
Small sensor but high quality, fast lenses albeit I suspect software corrected. EVF is of high quality, camera is easy to use, practical, shoots raw, and is a pleasure to use. For everyday general use is a hard to beat offer.

Great little camera
This is the fastest focusing and quietest camera I've ever owned. I own a full frame sony A7R, but needed something easier for point and shoot. My only complaint is that it's a little heavy, but worth it for a great camera with a great low light lens.

Very nice camera
bought this as a broll camera. solidly built, the video is quite good. Unfortunately, the form factor is a little too small for my needs. I'm probably going to upgrade to A7S and make one of my current cameras a broll unit.

Pocket Camera Replaces DSLR?
Now I don't have to haul around a big DSLR to do my duties as family documentarian. I previously used an older pocket camera to minimize the load, but the image quality was never up to the level I would get from my DSLR(s). The DSC-RX100 M3 yields better images than my 200 and gives my SLT 65 with Sigma 17-70/2.8-4 serious competition in some applications. The pop-up viewfinder is wonderful, partly because it's very good indeed, but also because a... Great camera!
I bought this camera for a trip to Hawaii as a light weight alternative to my Canon 7D.. Pictures are sharp. So many options to choose from for taking pictures. I bought a backup battery and used it. The battery gets used up faster than I thought it would. The wifi is a great feature. Experience some trouble with taking panoramic shots. It is very sensitive to movement.

excellent upgrade
Always have this camera with me, allows full manual control of focus and aperature and speed. Only thing it lacks is a filter attachment. And I have to get used to the pop-up viewfinder.

Really like the DSC - RX100 III Sony
I mainly use a Canon DSLR with an assortment of lenses. BUT it is not always fun to carry that much weight around. I have owned the RX100 III for a few weeks and am amazed at the quality of the images. If you expect to replace a DSLR, forget it. But it is close enough that I will not hesitate to carry it instead of the 7D when the occasion is appropriate. On a 20 mile bike ride it proved to be really a wonderful camera, with lots of shots suitable for display on a web site. The automatic settings are really good and I like the ability of using manual settings. Great purchase.

Great Travel Camera
I use a Nikon D300s most of the time but when we need to travel light I needed something more compact. The RX110 III was recommended to me by a professional photographer I know and it turned out to be an excellent choice. It's very light and compact but has many of the features of an SLR. The quality of the pictures I've taken so far is excellent. Hard to beat the list of features this camera has in a compact camera and at this price.

My search is over
I've owned this little wonder for only a few weeks now, and I already haven't picked up my NEX 6 for anything. This is the camera I have been searching for for a very, very long time. IQ is amazing. Shutter lag, or lack there of, also amazing. Focus speed? Yep, just what I need. Honestly, I have not been this happy with a camera or it's performance, especially one that can fit in my cargo shorts pocket, ever before. I love it. Highly recommended.... Show More
