Great surprise camera
After been a Nikon man for over 40 years. Owning full frames Nikons I took a chance and ordered the Sony RX10. To make a long story short this will be my main camera from now own. Excellent is and understatement.

Sony RX10 kit
A good deal. The case is all leather, old school. Great for traveling to protect the camera. Only thing is I wish it was 2 16 gig cards and not 1 32. I don't like to have so many pics on one card just in case something happens.

A good camera
Great camera, fast at 2.8. Easy to learn, I shoot nikon but the switch to this was not hard. The only thing I wish it went to 300 not 200 for the zoom. The pics are clear. I bought this for a trip that requires less gear. I did not want to take my other camera and lens and wanted a camera that still would take good shots and that I had some room for adjustment.

The Does Everything Camera
I now own the Sony RX100M3, a6000, A7, and now the RX10. I find myself naturally gravitating to the RX10, not matter whether it is for video, portraits, candids, street photography, travel, kids, or whatever, unless I need the extra resolution and tonal range of the A7, pocketability of the RX100M3, or focus speed of the a6000.The RX10 is just that good and the lens is amazing sharp. One of the reasons I got it was not only for video and all-in-o... Show More

More than I expected
I bought a Panasonic GX1 a year or so ago, for occasions when I might happen upon a grab shot, but did not want to carry my Canon DSLRs. They Panasonic is a nice solid little camera, but has an annoyingly noisy shutter, somewhat clumsy ergonomics, and I've never been very pleased with the picture quality. I'm not much of a videographer, but if I were, the truly poor performance of the GX1 in capturing video would have been an instant deal breaker... Show More

I waited & should have waited some more
This camera does take good photos. It is just not what I need. The focal length was not long enough and did not catch enough light for shooting on a cloudy day. I found shooting at the full focal length objects were not sharp enough. Also, the zoom is slow to respond and the bohek is OK but not to my liking. I owe a SONY RX1R and was looking for another SONY with similar controls to make shooting between the 2 cameras easy. I think through croppi... Show More

EXCELLENT CAMERA
I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE CAMERA AND BH HELP SELECTING THE SONY CAMERA. I ALSO RECOMEND THE BOOK BY: ALEXANDER S. WHITE PHOTOGRAPHER'S GUIDE TO THE SONY DSC-RX10.

versatile professional camera
Best camera I've owned in 50 years. Possibly the most versatile video/still camera ever. Intuitive features like the auto switch when going from LCD to EVF viewfinder, programmable buttons, constant f2.8 aperture, (critical for video) great steady-shot quality, audio inputs, high dynamic range (Ansel Adams button) for high contrast subjects, wi-fi, smart phone remote control. Got a great used deal from B&H on a mint camera. Also own the RX 100 II... Show More

An Excellent Camera
This camera has everything I was looking for in a camera. Very good image quality. Execellent Zoom. All kinds of features. Video is also incredible. I also have the RX100 M3 for times that I need a pocket camera.

Sony RX10 is the best Camera for Travel
I love this Sony small (compare my Nikon D800E) DSC-RX10 Digital Camera. The Carl Zeiss 24-200 f2.8 fixed lens is the best for travel. The image quality is great! I also purchased two useful accessories - Sony STP-WS2B Wrist strap (B&H#sostpws2B) and Case Logic DCB-304 Camera case with belt loop (B&H#cadcb304). More details, check B&H and Sony Websites.

Amazing Camera!
I use this camera as my daily carry-at-all-times camera! I have only had the camera for a few weeks but it already has traveled with me thousands of miles and have taken hundreds of images. Easy to use, quick to use, unobtrusive, great zoom range, and great image quality. I use it for travel, street photography, landscape

Cinematic Look
From a videographer's point of view the Sony RX10 is a different product and as such must be consider. The lens is top-notch and exceptionally flexible .. also the quality of the videos it delivers is great and well above the compact bridge cameras from its own segment (and better than many DSLR's sold with cheap lens as well). Even if you are considering to buy a Canon or Nikon's DSLR body... you still have to spend another $1000 for a comparabl... Show More

Works for ENG / documentary Filmmaking
The RX10 works great for me for handheld ENG, documentary filmmaking as well as filming action sports on a tripod (I've only used this camera in video mode.) For handheld I use a cheap flash mount bracket with a Manfrotto quick release adapter (so that I can quickly move from hand held bracket to tripod). I have the Sony XLR-K1M adapter attached to one of the cold shoe ports on the bracket. I also have a Sennheiser G3 receiver attached for use wi... Show More

Excellent camera!
Used this camera on a Washington DC trip with my 5th grade son. Pictures for his scrapbook project for school were excellent. Many other dads on the trip were begging to borrow my pictures because they saw that I was getting pictures in low light that they just couldn't get with their DSLRs and kit lenses. The lens on this camera is the #1 feature of it. Love the videos that it delivers. Image stabilization allowed me to get pictures from a moving bus that would have been a blurry mess on my Nikon D7000.

Best travel camera ever built
I traveled to Peru with this camera and loved it. I only had it a couple of days before the trip but the controls are so stright forward I had no issues. I even gave it to a couple of locals to use while I was unable to shoot. They loved it and both had very little photography experiance. They too had no issues with using the RX10.While hiking in a down pour near the sun gate the camera handled the rain like a pro. The videos off this camera make... Show More

Worth every penny
I recently bought the Sony HX300 thinking/hoping it would be the answer to my photographic prayers, but it turned out to be somewhat of a letdown, not because of how it worked but rather because I didn't have my expectations in line.Like the other bridge cameras I have owned - Nikon P500, Canon Powershot S3 IS - I was simply expecting too much from the HX300. Long lenses + small sensors = mediocre images. I had been fixated on zoom power so long ... Show More

Amazing Camera!
I owned a NEX-6 but got tired of carrying extra lenses and equipment. I traded the NEX for the RX10 and cannot be happier with the decision! The all-in-one package works much better for my needs and this camera takes excellent photos and videos.

A Pleasure to Use!
Every type of photo or video I take with this camera turns out great. I bought it several months ago, but have reviewed it only now due to an extended trip I took with it. It is easy to learn, and the best way to learn is experimenting. There are still features that I have to learn, even after a month's vacation with it! The lens is magnificent, and the image quality superb. If toting around several lenses with a DSLR is not for you, then this camera is!!

Everything I ask....it does well!
Though I bought this camera several months ago, I wanted to wait to review it until I had taken my full month cruise, and vacation to the far east. Learning to shoot a camera with this much potential is slow, and I was lucky to find a great book, (Photographer's Guide To The Sony DSC-RX10 by Alexander S White, The camera does everything perfectly, and actually improves upon that if you use it at it's best settings. The complete package
I have been in broadcast television for close to 30 years and this camera is amazing. I've used the stills for head shots which then are then chopped and cut for full screen graphics. And while we use mainly C-300s and 5D MKIIIs now, I've slipped in a couple of 60P slo-mo slider shots with the RX10 and no one knows the difference. I'm not saying the Sony can stand side by side and do the same things consistently but in the right hands it's a good... Show More

Very pleased - so far
This was purchased to replace my Panasonic GH2... I've only had this camera for a couple of weeks - I am an Event Videographer, and bought this to shoot parts of wedding videos such as bride's preps, and for some high shots on a raised monopod during a reception. As long as you're aware of the 29 minute limitation as far as length of a single clip, it works very well. I will also use it as a still camera to capture much higher resolution stills for my disc faces, dvd liners, website, etc. Overall, with only a small amount of test footage shot, I'm very impressed at this early stage.

Awesome camera. Great photos and video.
I was looking for an alternative to lugging around my full-sized DSLR and lenses. I had begun to notice that I was leaving my camera behind due to it being cumbersome, but I realized I was missing great photo opportunities. I wanted a camera capable of producing full sized prints with a fast lens. This camera provides both. The bonus is that it also produces high quality video. Better than a super zoom, it's sensor is capable of capturing photos you can print out rather than only display on a monitor. I've printed out 13 x 19 inch prints and they are of high quality.
