The Camera I've Been Waiting For
From 2014-2015, I had the luxury of using a used Sony RX1, which was the first time I used both a Sony camera as well as a full frame sensor. I was blown away coming from a Canon Rebel XS. But the RX1 sadly broke by the end of 2015 and was not covered by warranty. So I settled for the Sony a6000 and 3 prime lenses based on my budget. That was a great system no doubt given the much better autofocus, remote capabilities and interchangeable lens opt... Show More

Best Cinema Camra for video work
I have to admit, the Sony A73 is super sharp in 4K cinema/video. I use three Sony A73s and one Canon C200 for wedding ceremonies. The only down fall to the A73s is that it does overheat after 45 minutes of continuous 4K 30p recording in the DIRECT sunlight with 80 degrees outside weather. C200 won't over heat :) Dual Recording is a MUST for weddings!! Focuses super fast ! I have one A73 with the Sony FE 28mm 2.0 on my Zhiyun Crane 2 and it's a be... Show More

An excellent entry level full frame camera
The Sony A73 is a great camera. As an enthusiastic Olympus M43 user, I wanted to discover the potential advantages of a full frame sensor. While I am certain there are circumstance where low light, noise and dynamic range will be superior, I am not completely convinced that the image quality is substantially better, especially considering the size and weight disadvantages. I am still discovering with an open mind.

Perfect!
I've been trying to buy this camera from B&H since May 2018 a few months after initial release. I had to resort to the A7R3 instead because of unavailability. A year + later I finally got my hands on the camera with a few additional goodies and I must say I am quite satisfied!

i AM REALLY CONFUSED WHAT IS GOING ON
I felt like there's something missing. like this is not a new product. Why am i only have a body and a battery in the whole box. I couldnt even find a charger in the box that i can charge the battery.

Kit lens is garbage
Switched from Canon 6D, and am blown away. Time lapse, focus peaking, eye AF, and tons of customization are just a few game changers this camera provides. That said, skip the kit lens; it's junk. Many review it favorably, but if your used to good glass you will be sorely disappointed. Save that $200 and put it towards something that does this camera justice. I picked up the 28 f2 and it is leaps and bounds better and quite affordable. Also note... Show More

Both A Professional Tool and an Amateur's Best Friend
I am writing this review from the perspective of the automatic/point and shoot features of this camera. Why? Any seasoned photographer knows how to tweak almost any camera to get their desired results. BUT, a true high quality camera for dummies is gold. First off, the battery is ridiculous. It lasts for over 2 hours on video and I have yet to find out how long it lasts for stills. I'm still working on the second charge after testing video. Kee... Show More

Fantastic
For the amount of money, you won't do better than the a7iii. This camera is the reason I switched from Nikon.

Excellent camera & lens combination
Just bought this camera before a trip to the Grand Canyon and other nearby parks. Love it! Beautiful definition, good low-light sensitivity, good range on the lens (not ideal for wildlife photography, but I knew that), long battery life, and solid construction. Only minor downside is the weight at 3 lbs+.

A7iii 5-stars (Lens 2-stars)
(5 stars for the Sony a7iii) , 2 stars for Sony Vario-Tessar T FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS.. Just not happy with the resolution, I've already got it up for sale..

Cinematic Quality at a Reasonable Price
I purchased the A7iii primarily as a second camera, used in conjunction with an A7Riii and/or a Sony A9. For video, it is a close match for the A7Riii, since both have S-Log options. Of course it does an excellent job for stills too, and 24 MP is more than adequate most of the time. This kit comes with an Atomos Ninja V recorder/monitor, which is small enough to mount in the flash shoe without undue strain on the camera. The Ninja records 4,2,2 ... Show More

Love my A7III
I bought this camera to be my backup to my A7RIII. I traded in my A7RII for the A7III. The main reason for me was the same battery size which is a great improvement over the A7RII battery. I will use the A7III for sports and animals because of the smaller file size and quicker buffering due to the smaller file size.

love everything about it!
die hard canon user completely converted after the first week using this sony! AF is fabulous and color coming from this body is beautiful, and makes all the editing i do as a wedding photographer EASIER! i will be adding two more a7lll this year and sticking with my canon glass. the mc-11 adaptor works beautifully for this.

Worth it once youre over the learning curve
Took me weeks of watching a hundred youtube tutorials addressing extremely specific issues, but im at the point where the positives outweigh the negatives. A few things to point out- rude of them not to include a battery charger- only lucky I have one from the a7rIII but it would be nice to, you know, have one for each. I see unable to operate, writing to memory card at least 200 times a day, because for some reason they disabled half of the feat... Show More

Features great, execution poor
I was initially super excited to finally make the switch. As a long time Canon user, I was looking for a more compact setup, and while the A7iii was great in terms of that and features like AF, other bits were disappointing. My first time shooting in damp weather (light rain) led to the viewfinder optics fogging up, which took a day for the moisture to finally clear. Additionally, many lenses (the 24-105 f4 G) have gaskets that do not actually pr... Show More

Awesome, which never goes out of style.
Everything claimed and more. Eye AF incredible. It picks the eyes on my Hobby Lobby styrofoam head. Focus is as advertised. Fast and accurate. 10 fps and focus is very tight. The only way to get better is to spend the money for an A7RIII or an A9... I would buy this camera again, and may...

Full Frame: absolutely worth it
I back-and-forthed for a while about upgrading to this from Sonys aps-c line, and I am so glad that I took the leap. The image quality is noticeably better (smoother would also be a good word), the colour and dynamic range is fabulous. And solid battery life, thank god! If youre on the fence, go for it and get some quality glass while youre at it. Im using the 85 1.8 and the 24 1.4 GM and holy crapballs. Anything bad about it... the flexible spot icon is very hard to see against even a moderately dark background, so that can be annoying. Thats about it! -Jonathan

Fantastic camera, amazing auto focus, fast delivery from B&H. I could write books reviewing this camera but Ill leave it at, there is not a better camera on the market for the price.

Great camera, lens ok
Love the camera. But the kit lens is only OK. Next time I probably would buy the body alone and purchase the battery and memory card separately.

As Good as Expected
Excellent image quality, great color and superb resolution. Low light capability is excellent. Autofocus generally fast and reliable. Fair to poor viewfinder, back display would be better if it was larger. Battery life ok, not great.

Great Camera
This camera is very customizable. I was able to set a button or a function menu item to the important functions I need. Image quality is outstanding. Focus is spot on. B&H was up to their usual quality of service.

Fantastic! Color Science Fixed! DOESNT COME WITH CHARGER?!?
I believe this camera to be one of the best on the marketin this price range(except for one purposeful shystery thing which Sony did that Ill discuss later). I was able to learn how to use it in a matter of minutes because I have previously owned other Sony Alpha cameras. That was very much appreciated seeing as most manufacturers seem to randomly change the entire layout and functionality of their new models therefore enraging all of their loyal... Show More

Banding and noisy
A lot of problem with video Banding / Flickering when I film inside, with tungsten lights or other consumer lights on many locations. I only filmed good outside with sun light. When I use on 1600 ISO, only in dark sites, have a tons of noise :( Sony youre loose me, I think seriously I will come back to Canon.
