Not quite yet a pro level camera
My review is really based on just the comparisons I have with my other equipment. I ran it thru tests side by side with my Nikon D850, D750, Panasonic Gh4, and Gh5s. I used both Sony native glass and Nikon glass with a metabones adapter. The stills from the camera are about the level of the gh4. Not bad, but average. Nothing even close to the D750 or 850. The video was really disappointing. The GH5s was way cleaner. And the 230 fps stuff is unusable. I had to send it back. Bummer. But, I guesa why would Sony give you a a7r3 for 2 grand. not.

Stability Issue?
Up arrival my first action is to charge the battery, and then turn it on. The LCD shows nothing. Very strange behavior. (I own more than 10 other models including other Sony models so it is not me not knowing cameras). Fool around it one way or another and eventually got it working, but suspicious. Yesterday took it our first time. It resets it twice without any reason - on my regular should strip. Wired. Will observe a few more days to find out whats really going on, reluctant to return unless I have too. Anyone had similar encounters of such issue? Please advice.

Awesome!
Love this camera. Just wrapped up a tour of Utahs canyon country, and it does everything I want! This is my first full-frame camera, and I switched back to mirrorless from a Canon 70D (had an earlier Sony APS-C before). Loving the battery life, response, and capability of the camera - theyve addressed every issue I had with my old Sony. I plan to use it mostly to document family travel with photo and video, paired with Sonys 24-105 f/4 for now.

Amazing Camera!
I am so in love with this camera! I switched over from the Canon 80d, and it is everything that I was looking for and more! I just started a company that is creating more videos called Freely Mad (you can find us on instagram at @Freely.Mad ) and it is perfect for capturing the movement of dance and telling our stories!

Working great
The 3rd party battery is working fine with the 2.10 firmware. You sometimes get a warning about it but it works. It is nice that the SD card is a high speed one - U3/V30 so it works with the high bitrate (100mb/s) 4k video recording.

Great camera, great vendo
I love the camera. The menu is intimidating but plenty of videos to help with the essentials. The customer service at B&H was great. I ordered and had the everything in 2 days. Im glad I got the upgraded lens. Not too big but gives the extra range

Nice Camera
I can finally focus really easy on the eye and get good exposures. I had to switch from canon because canon is playing games. I still Use the cannon lenses and I get beautiful photos. Also I can finally carry the camera everywhere with me because is s light. I am going to wait to see what canon does next before I get read of the cannon lenses.

A Camera that Stands on Its Own
Switching from Canon EOS 6D, the first thing I noticed is the dynamic range! I updated to the firmware version 2.1.0 and my Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM and Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM performs flawlessly wide open with the Sigma MC-11 adapter! Even I can confirm that my Tamron SP 15-30mm Di VC USD G1 lens performs and focuses perfectly with the Sigma adapter. Therefore, I dont have to buy native Sony lenses for now. However, given that the Tamron 28-75mm... Show More

Even better than I expected
Im still on the first battery charge! On my A7, I would have gone through two batteries by now. Better viewfinder and screen. All the new features are great. The big surprise for me was the ability to bracket 1ev9. Ive created over 4000 HDR final images. 9 exposures is my sweet spot. Dont have to monkey with the ev dial to get them.

Insane camera. What more could you want?
Thank you Sony for developing this insane beast of camera. This is such a powerful tool at the disposal of the photographer. Absolutely insane dynamic range... so much so, even Lightroom sliders cant keep up. Insanely good high ISO quality. You cant tell the difference between 100 ISO and 1000 ISO. Huge flexibility. Eye autofocus is perfect. Fast. Responsive. Beautiful images from this camera. Blows my old GH5 out of the water for low light and a... Show More

Extremely Happy & Satisfied
Ive had this camera for over a week now and its been a joy to use. I upgraded from my Sony a6300 with the Tamron 28-75 f2.8, and its incredible how well this performs. Ive had to cover a couple of my university clubs events and Ive taken over 3000 photos just this past week. So far Ive had to reject far fewer shots, publish far more great (not just acceptable) photos, and Ive even had access to typically difficult shots due to lowlight conditions... Show More

Huge Upgrade
This camera was a huge upgrade from my A6000. The A6000 was and is still an incredible camera, but I needed something with fast AF, full frame and better low light shooting. I shoot mainly sports and kids activities and get the focus fast was critical. I went back and for with the A9, but decided to save the $1500 and got the Tamron lens instead. This camera is a powerhouse. Really like the silent shooting as well when shooting equestrian shows.

Believe The Hype
Reading the specs dont do this camera justice. I upgraded from the original Sony a7 (which is an excellent camera for stills), and am blown away with how much better the a7iii is. The colors are lovely, it handles beautifully, the customization options are nearly endless. In the short time Ive had it Ive been pushing its limits with video and am able to do things I wouldnt have thought possible. Its cut down time on my workflow with stills editing as I have much less correction to do. Its a beautiful machine that hasnt disappointed me at all so far.

Excellent camera.
I have been thoroughly enjoying my Sony alpha a 7 iii since having received last week. My Canon L prime lens all shoot great with fast autofocus using the sigma MC-11, Sigma lens on Canon mount to Sony E mount adaptor. Manual focus lens are a breeze as the focus field highlights in red. The kit lens is good and focuses nicely and quietly in video. It can also take decent pictures. I just love the improvement in low light capabilities over my prev... Show More

Dream Camera
Ever since I owned my first DSLR, a Canon 70D, I was into both photography and video. I dreamed of a camera that could do both perfectly, and while the 70D could tackle both, it lacked features. For example 120fps, 4k, and very importantly, a full frame sensor. At the time, a 1DX ii was the only camera capable of that. The issue with that however was the cost, the video format that was huge, and in 4k the camera would crop. I later moved to a two... Show More

Very Happy.
Ive had the camera three weeks now and I am very pleased. The settings menu and controls customization was far less intimidating than I had imagined, thanks to YouTube tutorials. Also, as a long time Nikon shooter, I found that the manual aperture and shutter controls are right where they need to be. I would give it five stars but I havent had it long enough to know how reliable and durable it is. Ill check back in a year.

Great Camera!
All cameras come with some sort of compromise. With that said, so far, there seems to be very few here. Especially for my use, mostly run and gun filmmaking. The images are crisp. The autofocus is great (and Im used to dual pixel from Canon). The low light ability is amazing. I own a Canon, a GH5 and the A7iii. I really enjoy all three cameras, but this one is my favorite. Not regretting my purchase.
